Lets just make an entire arcs worth of fighting up until this moment basically pointless by having the bad guy be a dick and steal power to... revive people? If their goal was the fuck up the Gotei 13 to force the zero squad to make their appearance, it was a success. If he couldn't take them up their because they would get owned faster than the ones already there, why not put them to better purpose and use their power to bump up the useless elites game?
