Maelstrom
Anyone else follow this? It's Korean manhwa (called 'The Breaker', if you couldn't tell from the title of this topic) that I just picked up, and I must say it's quite amazing. Beautiful art, interesting characters, and though the story is a bit recycled it's still a pretty fresh take on the whole shounen genre. Matthias Drake
Goomoonryong is such a beast. I want to see Shioon in a couple of years, though...
Maelstrom
I'm just about caught up with the most recent chapter. I'm really liking the way the author handled the relationship between Shiho and Goomoonryong. I like the way it developed. I'm also very pleased with Shioon's progression, and how the author gives a plausible explanation for his formidable power. dowhatnow
I just flipped through the first chapter and I have to say it looks almost like GTO + Hajime no Ippo mixed together to create something new. But I'll reserve that judgment until I catch up to the most recent chapter.
Kenji-San
GTO + Hajime no Ippo mixed together to create something new. I don't think that's even a bad thing, though! I'm definitely going to check this out.
Maelstrom
I read the entire series in a few days and I must say I'm thoroughly impressed. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to read a shounen manga (or manhwa) that's worlds ahead of the likes of Naruto and Bleach.
Kenji-San
I already really like the cover art of Volume 1. It has the dynamic character poses that reminds me of Death Note.
Matthias Drake
The art is very Death-Notey. Sadly the updates are extremely sporadic.
Leon
Started reading it and I really like it. It kind fo reminds me of Veritas, but as you said it is a recycled concept. Either way though both series are good. My hat to you Mael, thanks for the suggestion read.
Maelstrom
Indeed. In my opinion, this series takes every major concept/archetype present in the shounen genre and does it right.
Taiki
Ya, got through Chapter 58 today. (I have nothing to do at work) I really really like it. It does remind me a bit of Veritas, but it has originality, too. Thanks for the tip, Mael!
Leon
Just finished 58 too In 57 that was the best entrance ever (when Shioon did the biggest cock block i have ever witnessed, and the series has had a few)
Matthias Drake
And now we can all pine for colume nine together =)

Maelstrom
So I re-read a few parts of the last few chapters. So epic. Shiho perfectly exemplifies what every heroine in shounen manga should be. Hell, if Sakura was even half the woman she is, she'd almost be a likable character. And the way her relationship with Goomoonryong blossomed over the course of the story was fantastically portrayed. Oh, and let's not forget Shioon's growth as well. He's really come into his own, but still has such a ways to go. As I've said before, I love this manhwa.
Full-metal Dragon
Very good story line...... I like the youth's attitude to his increased strength opposed to Shonens or other mangas where they get strong and stay complete whimp ass pussies. Gomoonryung is like rediculous strong, it's quite awesome. Can't wait until more chapters pop out.
Leon
It really is a shame were waiting for the volumes rather than the bi-weekly chapters
Leon
You know I think I have read like 5 manhwa, and I think it is safe to say that the way the artist draw Manhwa is much better than most manga. Maybe its just my preference
