Matthias Drake Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Name: Reign of Fire: Corona Type: Ninjutsu (Fire) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 40 chakra to activate + 30 per turn in effect. Maximum duration of five turns per use. Activated and deactivated in the setup phase. Effects: Anyone making physical contact with the user (as from close-range taijutsu, or weapons the you hold onto) while this effect is active will immediately take 30 Fire damage modified by Resistance and the user's Ninjutsu. However, the user has the ability to choose who and what will be burned by the flame, thus excluding anyone or anything from the burning should they so choose (the user and his possessions are generally never burned by this flame). Description: Being very attuned to the element of Fire, the user has gained the ability to manifest a tangible aura of flame about themself, taking the form of a corona surrounding the user. This flame is entirely subject to the user's will, though it is limited by the user's skill with Ninjutsu. The color and temperature of the flames vary form person to person, and can be modified by a sufficiently skillful person. JP: -2 Requirements: Fire must be your primary elemental specialty.
Nappers Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 The Human Torch I do like this jutsu, but think it needs to be cleaned up a little. - Contact; need to make clear that that is physical contact (i.e. from close range Taijutsu). - If this is going to apply modifiers, it should only apply half or even a quarter of modifers the users Ninjutsu to the damage. Though I'd rather if it was just 30 damage unmodified (not by users Ninjutsu or Resistance). - If you bump the cost to like, 60 activation- and 45 upkeep, im sure that Fire Element attacks would be a tad less effective against you? Not to mention while you're in Human Torch mode you'd be immune to Burn damage.
Matthias Drake Posted August 13, 2006 Author Posted August 13, 2006 1. Done. 2. The flames burn hotter based on your skill in Ninjutsu =) I'll increase the cost if you'd like. 3. You can still be hurt by other flames than your own... You're just choosing for your flames not to burn you, since you get to choose what they burn.
Hardcore Skittlez Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Good stuff, MD. Things I see that could be changed(Oh yes, Poke is here to help. Scarey, I know): 1. Effects canceled by a Suiton Jutsu. 2. Something along the lines of the Zankuuha either increasing the strength of the flame, or lowering it. 3. Prevent Mokuton Jutsu that would come withen Melee range with you. 4. Fight fire with fire? Would a Full on Ryuuka No Jutsu cancel your flames, since the Ryuuka is a stronger concentration? Say: May be de-ignited by a fire Jutsu of Equal or Higher rank? 5. ANd finally. Ice jutsu would be prevented, but your flames would be doused. Because what does melted Ice make? Water. Water usually puts out fire! And there's Poke's 75 Cents
Matthias Drake Posted August 14, 2006 Author Posted August 14, 2006 Uggh. I'm thinking that would just raise the cost... I will add it in if I have to, but I'd like to keep it simple. Here's how I'd say it, if you made me add that in- The following effects are in place for this jutsu: If the user is hit by a Suiton jutsu of rank equal or greater to the user's, then the jutsu ends. Mokuton jutsu are burned up upon contact with the aura; they have no effect. If the user is hit by an Ice jutsu, that jutsu is canceled. If the Ice jusu is of equal or greater rank than the user's, then the flames are also canceled.
Hardcore Skittlez Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Kay, that seems like It'd work just fine. Question: If more than one enemy enters the effected area, would the jutsu follow Multi-hit rules?
Matthias Drake Posted August 14, 2006 Author Posted August 14, 2006 No. If two enemies are stupid enough to touch you when you're covered in pure burning then it's their own stupid fault, Also, move out every zig. For, you know, great justice. that was not a mergebump XD
