Description: The truest form of an ‘astral' blade in the known world, Kaitou no Totsuka [Also known as Sakegari Tachi] is a blade like no other. The sword itself is a spirit sword with no true form, rumored to carry ominous sealing powers within it's astral blade. As the legend goes, any who are pierced by the blade become trapped within a blissful dream-like Genjutsu for all of eternity. The blade's sealing powers are said to be incredible to even the most highly regarded ninja in the world. Regarded as the single counter to the Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi, otherwise known as the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi.

Kaitou no Totsuka was said to be wielded and forged by a god who had killed the Yamata-no-Orochi thousands of years prior. He descended to the province of Izumo, where he met an elderly couple. Seven of their eight daughters had been devoured by the eight-headed serpent Yamata-no-Orochi and it was about to come for the eighth, Kushinada-hime. After the couple promised their daughter's hand in marriage to Susano'o, he agreed to slay Orochi. With the aid of eight bowls of sake (one for each head), the God decapitated the monster once it had fallen asleep.

Thousands of years later, it would seem as if Uchiha Itachi had found the blade himself while working with the Akatsuki as they searched the lands for Bijuu. However, in the battle between the last two Uchiha heirs, the blades abilities seemed to have been shattered, no longer having the ability to throw an opponent into an endless genjutsu for the remainder of their lives. The blade, however, still has the ability to damage the opponent's psyche when struck, and those who delve into the realm of genjutsu seem to have a natrual knack for wielding such a weapon. The sword itself is said to be somewhere deep in the ruins of where the battle of the Uchiha was held, all those many years ago…

Cost: $2,500 Ryo + 10 Post Quest

.:Blissful Slaughter:.

Description: Though Kaitou no Totsuka's ability to send it's prey into an endless genjutsu was obliterated in the final battle of the Uchiha's, it's ability to affect the mind in general was not destroyed. Upon swinging the blade, rather then actually cutting the opponent, it will disrupt the chakra flow within their brain. This immense disruption of chakra will cause extreme head trauma, and doing mental damage much like a typical genjutsu would, but to a greater extent.

Effect: Before the user of this weapon attacks, they must choose wether or not they wish to use the Taijutsu modifier, or Genjutsu modifier. If the Genjutsu modifier is chosen, then user must use their concentration stat as if they were using a typical Genjutsu, and the opponent must use their concentration as if they were being assaulted by a typical Genjutsu.

.:Now you see me, now you don't:.

Description: Being an astral blade, Kaitou no Totsuka has the ability to shift planes of existance on the will of the user. This allows it to avoid becoming the prey of robbery. The wielder can also never be disarmed of the blade; as it can merely shift from existance for a moment, and flicker back into the wielder's hands as if nothing had even phased it.

Effect: The user of this weapon cannot be disarmed, nor can they have this weapon stolen from them in any way, shape, or form.

.:Formless:.

Description: The Kaitou no Totsuka has no true form, and because of this, the wielder may choose what they wish the blade to look like. For some, it could be a simple dagger in which seems like it has no value of any form. Others will want the blade to be decorated, ranging from some of the most beautiful diamonds and pearls in all the land. Not only can the blade change in costmetics, but it can also change length and weight, allowing the blade to go from a katana for one second, to a claymore, to even a butter knife if they so pleased.

Effect: The user of this weapon may spend their entire setup phrase shifting this weapon to whatever size they wish, be it ‘Small', ‘Medium', or ‘Large'. The user must still pay the appropriate costs to swing the weapon that is equvilent to it's size.

.:Antidote to the Venom:.

Description: Noted time and time again in history, the Kaitou no Totsuka is the ultimate counter to the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi. It's astral form protects it from the unique abilities of the blade, being able to phase straight through it's corroding potential. The blade has bested Orochimaru who wielded the weapon a century prior when battling against Uchiha Itachi, which trapped the traitorous snake in the blissful end he was not fit for. In his last words, even he confirmed that this weapon bests even his own greatest treasure, the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi itself.

Effect: This weapon cannot be affected by any effects that would be induced the 'Kusanagi'

.:Sentient Thoughts:.

Description: The weapon has a mind of its own. Through mental pathways in its owner's mind, the weapon can converse with the user, giving hints in battle, and giving companionship to its owner. It seems that this allows the weapon to move on its own, although not to the extent of altering the course of a battle. In the case of this Nin-To, moving on its own is not possible, since the blade is fixed in its composition.

Effect: The Weapon Can Speak With the User
