Matthias Drake Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 (edited) Name: Economy of Motion Description: Martial arts have always been about efficiency - something which shinobi have, in many ways, forgotten. Sometimes, however, one harkens back to those ancient principles, and uses his or her expertise to move without effort, strike without strain, and glide through a battle without breaking a sweat. This comes at the cost of power, of course, but martial arts was never about muscularity. These principles are extensible to less clearly physical processes: by removing ornamentation and inefficiency in the flow of one's chakra, in the formation of hand seals, and in the manipulation of energies, one can vastly reduce the fatigue of ninjutsu and genjutsu as well. Effect: User may choose to subtract a portion of the relevant modifier from the cost of a technique he or she uses, instead of applying that portion of the modifier as a bonus. This may never reduce a techique's cost below 50% of the original. This skill must be taken once for each type of jutsu: Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Taijutsu, and weapon-based jutsu. Cost: -2 Edited August 29, 2008 by Matthias Drake
Warr Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Despite the description only really pertaining to Taijutsu and Weapon based Taijutsu, truth-be-told, good skill. If you'd explain how/why it'd apply to Nin/Gen, I'll happily stamp it. It's neat seeing Jeet Kune Do statistically ported.
Matthias Drake Posted August 24, 2008 Author Posted August 24, 2008 Done. Effect edited also; Needed to clarify that you can't apply the mod both ways.
Matthias Drake Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 Edited as per cntr's request. Now reduces to a minimum of 50% and requires multiple ranks for different jutsu types.
