However in most cases the chakra is useless and dissapears shorty after. The Sukaikon clans more stronger chakra manages to remain longer as a residue after a technique due it's strong adaptive nature after decades of evolution. This enables the Sukaikon clan members to actually take use of their chakra residue in the forms of gathering it to perform more special "suprise" techniques. Rank 1: After any Sukaikon clan technique which uses any chakra, 5% of the techniques chakra cost amount will gather together to a side pool as useable chakra residue. Cost: 60 Damage: 60 Effects: n/a Description: By using the chakra residue around the battlefield/and adding more chakra if needed, the Sukaikon member will mold the chakra into four bright blue coloured pillars that forms around the opponent. In a bright flash, the four pillars will explode with force into the center of the four pillars where the opponent stands. Edited November 3, 2008 by Rakirian
Rakirian Posted September 7, 2008 Author Posted September 7, 2008 (edited) Quick example of the stats calculation of a Spirit: Lv 100 to lv 15: Taijutsu Spirit at lv 100 (Life force points) % (Taijutsu) 2000 (Defense) 1000 (Ninjutsu) 0 (Resistance) 1000 (Genjutsu) 0 (Concentration) 500 (Speed) 1200 (Accuracy) 1300 (Evasion) 1000 stat x 0.15 = lv 15 stat. Taijutsu Spirit at lv 15 (Life force points) % (Taijutsu) 300 (Defense) 150 (Ninjutsu) 0 (Resistance) 150 (Genjutsu) 0 (Concentration) 75 (Speed) 180 (Accuracy) 195 (Evasion) 150 Jutsu points: 15 Skill points: 7 Edited October 12, 2008 by Rakirian
Eechi-go Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Okay, so maybe I missed it, but, do the spirits start at the same level as the user?
Rakirian Posted September 14, 2008 Author Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) Yes they do. However Spirits only comes available at the earliest of level 15 so to be precise, they start at lv 15 once the user reaches level 15 and gains the skill. From there on the gain level with the user like normal. Edited September 14, 2008 by Rakirian
Eechi-go Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Another question; Once you choose which stats to dump your points into, you cannot change them, unless you level up, correct?
Rakirian Posted September 14, 2008 Author Posted September 14, 2008 Correct, even tho you can't really change the stats when they level in the normal way. Since you create them first as a lv 100 spirit and then does the calculation on those stats to see how the stats are at the current level of the user. As my example post (The second one). These stats will be calculated every time the user levels up to see the spirits new stats for that level. The only things which will be added every time the user levels up is the jutsu point to the spirits and the skill point if it's a even level number. (they gain 1 sp every other level compared to the 1 jp gain every level).
cntrstrk14 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 the first one doesn't seem to be worth +4 points, as someone could have their ninjutsu completely sealed and get less points. Thousand cuts needs to have a limit of how long it works and I would rather it be a static number for reducing the opponent's speed rather than a percentile. We have always tried to steer away from percentiles. Brutal stance also seems very similar to the Hyuuga bloodline in its mechanics.
Rakirian Posted September 15, 2008 Author Posted September 15, 2008 (edited) the first one doesn't seem to be worth +4 points, as someone could have their ninjutsu completely sealed and get less points.Thousand cuts needs to have a limit of how long it works and I would rather it be a static number for reducing the opponent's speed rather than a percentile. We have always tried to steer away from percentiles. Brutal stance also seems very similar to the Hyuuga bloodline in its mechanics. Hmmm, good point on the first one...but what if we add in "Cannot have Ninjutsu sealed" into it to prevent such a thing to happen? The Sukaikon clan Jutsus will be indeed mostly taijutsu/hybrid based but it will have good amount of Ninjutsu also.(maybe should had posted up some example Jutsus in the other thread to had avoided this but oh well hehe) Would that still make it be needed to reduce the amount of skill points? Second one: Well, I would really like to try and keep the percentile effect if possible. It might be powerful way of having it but then again that is it's purpose BUT Im all in favour off trying to restrict it abit more to make it more balanced/weaker? Reducing it's duration of the effect etc like you said. Maybe have it last 2-3 turns or more or less and then if not consisted acumilated(user stops attacking in Thousand cuts stance), it will start to dissapear/reduce its effect. Also keeping the medical jutsu Release Chakra to make it possible to instantly reduce it to 0 once again. Third: My intention was not to try and make it look like a copy of another bloodline. However Im all open for other suggestions/help on what it could be to make it more appealing, even tho the whole concept for the Brutal stance is to add damage. Being the more damaging in points stance compared to the Thousand Cuts stance which will be more leaned towards causing effects on the target. Just thought a simple adding X amount to deal Y amount extra would be ok but yeah like you said: it is very similar to the Hyuuga one (even tho not as strong if Im reading the Hyuuga one correctly but thats not the case). cntrstrk14 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 +4 is still to much for that effect, especially since it can be easy to just ignore ninjutsu with this bloodline. Brutal stance could be workable, but it needs less flexibility. Make it a static amount that you can add instead of a choice. So instead of being 1-10 damage added, make it just 10 damage can be added. Thousand Cut, No percentiles, especially not on reductions to opponent's. I'm sticking to static numbers. As for the time, I would say that every other turn if the opponent is not hit by one of those effects, it is reduced by twice the amount. So if you hit them two turns in a row for say -10 speed for each they would have a total of -20 speed. Then you don't hit them the next turn, they keep -20, if you don't hit them the turn after that they get +20, so the effects are gone. Not a bad effect, especially since you dont have to pay for it in battle.
Rakirian Posted September 22, 2008 Author Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) All righty, changed all of it to your request. The hinderance skill is now +3 instead of +4. Brutal Stance has been made less flexible. However added that you may choose previous rank amount if the user wants. It's now alittle flexible BUT not as much as before. Any less flexible and it's just all stiff hehe^^ Thousand Cuts, even tho I still think percentiles would have been best/most balanced since it would never go below the lowest cap no matter what total speed one person hade, and the fear of it being overpowered to higher ranked users is nothing to worry about really since the gennin must first be able to hit the chuunin/jounin or even if they would even DARE fight a sennin...which would end IF they did hit they would reduce...nothing since they would get overkilled the next three attacks the sennin will get hehe. As a Sennin even, one hit of this on a Gennin would reduce his speed by half maximum so if the genin would be at 100 in speed: the sennin would at max reduce it to 50 after 4 jutsu hits...which would probably had killed him anyway. I just wanted to type out the main reasons why I thought it would be better with percentile then numbers in this case since with the static numbers, a user can lower a persons speed to the minimum cap of 33%. I think it was if the target has bad stats in speed. This wouldn't had been the case for the percentile system HOWEVER I still see all the doubt over the being a strong thing agianst same ranked users and even one rank higher but then again it was made as such^^ (And also the calculation "issue" being a bother but then again...this beign a stat based RP...everything revolves around numbers and percentiles, but yes one could try and make it as easy as possible but if the sole reason that it should be static numbers instead of percentile is to make it "easy" to calculate then I think it's a bit unfair and lazy to a certain degree.) Non the less I have changed it to a static number based system instead as you requested, and awaits your next reveiw. Edited September 25, 2008 by Rakirian
Rakirian Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 -Bump- Even tho both Eechi-go and Cntr has posted their questions/request of changes I still take in more comments from Mods or Admin(Azure is the only one left hehe). Even if a member has a question about something I don't mind them asking it either here or on PM to me.
cntrstrk14 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 The spirits are too powerful. You get four of them to use, and each one is the same level as well as having 50 skill points and 100 JP at level 100? This looks to be just as powerful as Essence Clone, but without a cost to use and available at level 15... Thousand Cut - I think the speed reduction is a bit to high per hit. The caps seem fine, but I think it should take more then 4 hits in a row to reach those caps. As another thought, this bloodline seems to be branching over two ideas, one for a 'summon' and one for a Hyuuga type of advanced damage/attacks. It is usually a good idea to choose one of them and focus around the one idea.
Rakirian Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 (edited) Ok time to give some explination to the creation of the Spirits. Yes, powerful but I have made many balance measures to make them strong but also very costly. Think of them as Summons. As stated in the rules of the Spirits, a Sukaikon clan member cannot have any summon and Spirit out at the same time. This can even be changed into not allowing Sukaikon clan to be able to learn summoning at all. The number four(amount of Spirits) is to give them a varity. Also the other rule: never can the user choose which Spirit to call forth, it's all based on the luck on their dice roll. Even this can if it so seems needed to be changed to only being able to call forth a spirit ONCE/TWICE per battle making it very risky/gamble to call one forth. The stats and SP and JP amount is based on what they would have at lv 100 not at lv 15. At lv 15 they would have 15 JP and 7 SP. Compared to normal summons it will be ranked once it's at lv 100 which is the Spirits max level, they will be like a lv 4 summon when it comes to pure stats(even if they won't place stats on health, stamina and chakra) but is compared to a lv 5 summon. The cost to call them forth is based on your total amount of chakra. Meaning to call one forth cost at the lowest 40% of your total chalra pool which also represents it's health, stamina AND chakra amount to the Spirit. All damage it takes, attacks it makes will cost in that very same pool. Also a measure to make them NOT too powerful one cannot have the Spirit out for longer then 4 turns at gennin, 6 turns at chuunin level and 8 turns at Jounin level...which clones and ordinary summons don't have...they remain until destroyed or end of battle. So basicly, they do have a quite big cost to use, they have limitations on their levels to balance and lastly a restriction on their time to be out in the battle. Powerful yes, too powerful no. Thousand Cuts - That I agree with you, wasen't sure about the amount per hit so that I will change to a lower amount per hit. Lastly: It takes two to tango...if only one dances it's not tango anymore. By having both these branches together it creates a good bloodline. Having only one branch as a bloodline and it will be incomplete. I guess I will never be able to convince you that this is not a Hyuuga type bloodline...but then again it's a matter of opinion of the general idea I guess. The Sukaikon clan is all about it's adaptive chakra. Being able to manipulate it at a whole other level, if I would try and describe it in a single sentence. Edited October 2, 2008 by Rakirian
cntrstrk14 Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 If you are basing off the summons rules, I am sorry to regret that we are in the process of changing them, as a level 6 summon is far more powerful than almost any player could hope to be an near impossible to get out. Basically, they will be decently nerfed. On that note, the spirits themselves basically give you a second character at the same level.
Rakirian Posted October 12, 2008 Author Posted October 12, 2008 All righty, I have put Chakra Spirits off the bloodline due to it being hard to incoporate efficiantly into the system. Instead I have replaced it with Chakra Residue Control. This branch will add chakra to a side pool whicj will then be used to perform special jutsu's which takes the form of dynamic traps. As I have been looking around and noticed that Dynamic Traps is almost never used. Hope this will work out better then the Chakra Spirits.
cntrstrk14 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Junreiketsu Mastery - Level 5 is like nothing from level 0, I think you should roll those two ranks into one or something, it seems like a needless step. Also, the progression of activating in phases should probably go Main Phase -> Setup Phase -> Response Phase. You don't need to state the -1 JP each level since they dont stack, just put it in rank 1. I am guessing for the most part these are just going to be requirements for clan techs and such, right? Brutal Stance - Approved Thousand Cuts Stance - Approved Chakra Residue Control - Approved
Rakirian Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Correct, they were at start also a skill path needed for the "Spirit" thing but now it's 100% for Jutsu/other skills requirement. Editted and fixed.

It does not stack with previous rank. -Chuunin rank requirement and the previous Thousand Cuts Stance skill (Rank 2)- -1 Rank 4: Thousand Cuts jutsu's will now cause the target to stiffen up if hit. Target will be slowed down by -40 speed each time they get hit from a Thousand Cuts Stance jutsu. The total amount will continue to stack until reached Rank cap. It does not stack with previous rank. -Jounin rank requirement and the previous Thousand Cuts Stance skill (Rank 3)- -2 Rank 5: Thousand Cuts jutsu's will now cause the target to stiffen up if hit. Target will be slowed down by -80 speed each time they get hit from a Thousand Cuts Stance jutsu. The total amount will continue to stack until reached Rank cap. It does not stack with previous rank. -Senin/Kage rank requirement and the previous Thousand Cuts Stance skill (Rank 4)- -2 Aside from my various comments above, these all seem okay. Chakra Residue Control After using techniques requiring chakra, there is always some form of residue after it. This chakra pool can only be used by special skills/techniques that specify that they use the chakra residue pool. -Requires Junreiketsu Mastery Rank 1- -1 I really like this idea. I see a lot of potential behind it. Good job. Rank 2: After any Sukaikon clan technique which uses any chakra, 10% of the techniques chakra cost amount will gather together to a side pool as useable chakra residue. This chakra pool can only be used by special skills/techniques that specify that they use the chakra residue pool. -Requires Junreiketsu Mastery Rank 2- -1 Rank 3: After any Sukaikon clan technique which uses any chakra, 15% of the techniques chakra cost amount will gather together to a side pool as useable chakra residue. This chakra pool can only be used by special skills/techniques that specify that they use the chakra residue pool. -Requires Junreiketsu Mastery Rank 3- -2 Rank 4: After any Sukaikon clan technique which uses any chakra, 20% of the techniques chakra cost amount will gather together to a side pool as useable chakra residue. This chakra pool can only be used by special skills/techniques that specify that they use the chakra residue pool. -Requires Chakra Residue Control Rank 3 and be lv 40- -2 I don't really think the above two ranks need to have increase in SP cost. -1 for each should work just fine. Chakra Residue Control Technique example: Name: Yon kyuuzou chuuseki (Four pillar surge trap) Type: Dynamic Trap [Ninjutsu] (Sukaikon Clan jutsu) Rank: Gennin Conditions: Need atleast 30 chakra cost paid from Chakra Residue.
Rakirian Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 - Fixed the duplicated paragraph......awekward...- - Added in that you cannot have any Subtle Elements skills. - - Hmmm...well haven't really thought of it like that since this specific add is only directed to Sukaikon clan based jutsu's. If it deems necessary to add in that no other JP reduction skills may be taken then I will add that in. - - Changed Junreiketsu Mastery Rank 2 from lv 5 to lv 10 req. - - Brutal Stance question: Yes, can choose which number to add depending which ranks you have. meaning if I have rank 3, I can choose to use the add damage from either rank 1, 2 or 3. Gicing the skill some choices/flexability to the user when in combat. - - Thousand Cuts question Nr 1: The stance activation/deactivation is the same as the Brutal stance. The options when it can be activated/deactivated is determind depending on what Junreiketsu Mastery rank the user has. - - Thousand Cuts question Nr 2: Correct. Example: User is in thousand cuts stance. In turn 1 he uses a thousand cuts jutsu and hits the target (-40 speed). Turn 2 he uses another Thousand Cuts jutsu and hits, the amount of speed reduced is now stacked with each other (-80 speed). Turn 3 the user uses yet another Thousand cuts jutsu and hits, the amount stacks yet again (-120 speed). Turn 4 the user changes to Brutal stance and attacks, the speed reduction remains the same for that turn (-120 speed). Turn 5 he continues using Brutal stance however the speed reduction will now be change back by the amount 40*2 = 80. 120-80 = 40 speed reduction is now in affect. However if the user would had changed back to Thousand cuts stance and connected a hit on turn 5, he would had stopped the countdown for changing back the reduction speed effect. I hope that gives some more insight on how it works. - - Thousand cuts question Nr 3: About Thousand cuts only work with Thousand cuts jutsu's. Thats correct but I have however been thinking of adding that effect to basic attacks also. But this I planned on perhaps adding as a extra Clan skill later on. But thats something that can be talked about at that date when that skill is/if waiting for reveiw/approval hehe. - - Changed the SP cost of rank 3 & 4 in Chakra residue control to -1 instead of -2. -

That way, you can still have other JP reducing skills, they just won't apply to clan related tech's. - Changed Junreiketsu Mastery Rank 2 from lv 5 to lv 10 req. - - Brutal Stance question: Yes, can choose which number to add depending which ranks you have. meaning if I have rank 3, I can choose to use the add damage from either rank 1, 2 or 3.
