Rinha Clan Techniques Vol.2

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

All listed techniques belong to the Rinha Clan.

Spirit Reflection Technique [Level 1]
Type: Ninjutsu [Hijutsu:Rinha | Clone]
Rank: Genin
Cost: 30x Chakra OR 25x Chakra; 25x Absorbed Chakra
Effect: The user creates x Spirit Reflections, with ‘x’ being less than or equal to 1. Spirit Reflections have 10% of the user's stats unless they opted to pay for this technique using Absorbed Chakra, in which case they instead have 15% of the stats of the character named in the Absorbed Chakra statistic. Absorbed Chakra from ninja of a higher rank than this technique may not be used with this technique. If the Spirit Reflection was paid for with Absorbed Chakra, all clones created reference the character named in the Absorbed Chakra statistic instead of the user for purposes of techniques they may utilize.

Additional rules for Spirit Reflections can be found below.

Description: The embodiment of the secret arts of the Rinha. By utilising their own chakra they can create a perfect copy of themselves, possessed of its own sentience and yet under their control. Though the strength of these creations pales in comparison to their source, their uses beyond combat are limited only by the Rinha’s imagination. With that then comes the greatest source of the Spirit Reflection Technique’s power is that, with the use of chakra absorbed by the Rinha, this technique can even copy other ninja.

Spirit Reflection Technique [Level 2]
Type: Ninjutsu [Evolving|Hijutsu:Rinha | Clone]
Rank: Chuunin
Cost: 50x Chakra OR 35x Chakra; 35x Absorbed Chakra
Effect: The user creates x Spirit Reflections, with ‘x’ being less than or equal to 2. Spirit Reflections have 15% of the user's stats unless they opted to pay for this technique using Absorbed Chakra, in which case they instead have 20% of the stats of the character named in the Absorbed Chakra statistic. Each clone created may be paid with different Absorbed Chakra or normal Chakra.

Spirit Reflection Technique [Level 3]
Type: Ninjutsu [Evolving | Hijutsu:Rinha | Clone]
Rank: Jounin
Cost: 70x Chakra OR 45x Chakra; 45x Absorbed Chakra
Effect: The user creates x Spirit Reflections, with ‘x’ being less than or equal to 3. Spirit Reflections have 20% of the user's stats unless they opted to pay for this technique using Absorbed Chakra, in which case they instead have 25% of the stats of the character named in the Absorbed Chakra statistic. Absorbed Chakra from ninja of a higher rank than this technique may not be used with this technique. Each clone created may be paid with different Absorbed Chakra or normal Chakra. Spirit Reflections created with this technique are able to leave the thread of their creator, and may exist in any one thread within the same country as the creator’s main thread.

Spirit Reflection Additional Rules:

-Spirit Reflections may never, unless specifically stated otherwise, possess skills or ranks in bloodlines. They are only treated as such when checking the requirements of a jutsu they are performing. They gain no bonuses from skills/bloodline ranks they are treated as possessing.
-The exception to the above rule is Taijutsu Styles. Following the rules of any Taijutsu Styles the Spirit Reflection possesses, Spirit Reflections may generate charges as normal. These charges may only be spent on techniques.
-While Spirit Reflections may never possess bloodline ranks, they are allowed to utilise aspects of any bloodline the character listed in the 'Absorbed Chakra;a;b;c;or d' statistic possessed. These aspects may never have any direct impact on combat, and have no mechanical benefits. Examples could be a reflection manifesting a Sharingan, or generating a special aura, but not copying techniques or using that aura as a shield.

-Clones created using Absorbed Chakra use the stats of the character at the time the latest source of Absorbed Chakra was added. Thus, if a Rinha character gains 40 Absorbed Chakra for a character, then summons a clone 3 months later, the clone uses the stats for the chosen character from 3 months prior, regardless of any experience gain and expenditure since.

So, volume 2 should really be volume 1 but I was lazy with moving things around. This is the core technique of the bloodline, so would be hella helpful if I could get it^^

Cntrstrk is the owner of Stasis Clones, and this whole bloodline is sort of like them, in a way. I think you should talk with him in detail when he has some time, and really get his opinion on both these techniques and the kekkei genkai as a whole. I naturally can't approve these because of the help I gave on them, but I don't think many mods are going to be willing to approve this whole thing until he's broken it down and given the okay.

I really like this clan and this series of techniques. This is a very unique effect and you've gone about the exact right route to get it. As a Bloodline that focuses in the stealing of chakra of others, this works. Here are a few individual things of note that we need to go over though.

  • Level 1: You're paying to much. 10% clones cost 30 Chakra each. 15% clones cost ~48 Chakra Each. I would say because of the hoops you need to jump through here to get the Chakra of another person you could price this at 40 Chakra per Clone at a base, more on this below.
  • Level 2: 15% Clones are ~48 and 20% Clones are ~70. Call it a cool 60 Chakra per Clone. At least as a base, more on this below.
  • Level 3: You guessed it. 25% Clones are ~ 92 Chakra. 80 Chakra per Clone here. At least as a base, more on this below.
  • You say 'may utilize all techniques possessed by that character other than Spirit Reflection Technique, however Clones already have the line in their rules "Clones may not utilize techniques which produce Summons or Clones."
  • To that note, make your tag [Hijutsu:Rinha | Clone] to be clear.
  • Because you can hold chakra over time you need to distinguish if the Clones made are equal to the target's current level when the technique is used, or their level/stats when you took their chakra from them. I could see you going away from a year and summoning a character who gained 50 levels. That would be pretty broke.
  • Similarly, we should just close a loophole of summoning a clone of someone much higher level than yourself. If we say "May not create a clone of a character who is a higher rank than this technique" will cover a lot. That means at Gennin you can summon 15% of a Chuunin. So a level 50 Chuunin is ~ a level 8 Chuunin stat wise. This seems perfectly fine honestly. My worry is that your kage let's you take their chakra when you are a Genin and you bring them out and get a level 20 equivalent Sennin on your side who can fling their advanced jutsu.
  • Retaining Equipment: This is a tricky thing to price. Equipment can do a lot. I would say, given the prices above, this option could be anywhere between +25% or +50% of the clone price per clone. I'm leaning towards +50% because you get the equipment multiple times.

Overall, I think these are super neat, but my largest concern is abuse through willing spar partner letting you leech their chakra. Consider this. You have 3 friends, each one with x amount of equipment. Friend A, B, C and Yourself loan Friend A all your equipment to deck them out. Friend A then spars you. You steal their chakra. You have a saved version of that character with 4 people's equipment. You can now do the same to Friend B and Friend C, all with the fully loaded equipment payload. This is also assuming that the character 'locls' when you steal their chakra, with is another issue. If you want to do that, keeping track of that information will be a huge pain.

Also another problem, you're not privy to all character sheets. Which means that you would need to get a copy of their sheet from that player. That also seems messy. These are the hurdles for this to work.

Indeed, I am back and gonna work on these. KC gave me a lot to think about, so gonna do some minor reworks and clarifications in line with his comments, just making this post so yall don't think I asked for them back then immediately vanished.

As for that last note though KC, the clones retain their memories, thus it wouldn't be unreasonable for the character sheet of a character to become in-character knowledge of a Rinha character once they summon a clone yeah? Obviously there would need to be a system for doing that, and I'll have a chat with the staff to see what can be done, but I think knowing sheets isn't too much?

Okay, I believe everything has been addressed? All costs are now what you listed +50% (which is a massive discount wow I did overprice those...), each technique states that it summons clones of an equivalent rank or lower, and the additional notes dictate that clones use the stats of the character when the chakra was taken. I believe it also states that in the bloodline under Absorbed Chakra, but I could be remembering things that aren't there, so it's here for doubly sure.

One nitpicky thing. Clones need a name. "Clone" is the name of the very most basic clones. "Shadow Clones" are the type created by Kage Bunshin No Jutsu. I'd suggest calling them "Spirit Clones" or "Reflection Clones" something like that.

I am going to say that you should not be allowed to copy equipment for the clones. This is not so bad when you're making clones of yourself, but since you are making clones of people in their 'saved state' this could be abused. Copying my thought process from another thread...

"This is a problem that I brought up I believe in the main thread for this clan's bloodline. Specifically, that you can easily have 4 allies that each have their own equipment. Take all of the equipment from all 4, put it on a single ally, and then absorb their chakra. Rinse and repeat for each ally. So in the end you have 4 character stats all with the same equipment. This is the fundamental problem with having clones that have the user's equipment. I would honestly just cut this part."

Also, since you can make a clone of yourself or a clone of an ally, this is technically two techniques in one. I might let it pass for these since I believe this is part of the core of the clan, but normally you would need to pay double JP for that kind of functionality. Mostly mentioning it here so if a staff member spots it down the road you can point right here where cntrstrk14 is officially waving that in this special case.

Perhaps maybe just state that they visually retain all equipment, but only for roleplay purposes? It wouldn't do well to have a clone that's designed to function as a very close replica of someone famous for the massive swords to walk around with no swords. Would somewhat diminish their infiltration capacity, which is unfortunate. Maybe reword it to something like:

The user creates x Spirit Reflections with 10% of the user’s total statistics, with ‘x’ being less than or equal to 1. If the user opted to pay for this technique using Absorbed Chakra, and the character from whom the Absorbed Chakra is taken has a rank less than or equal to the rank of this technique, the Spirit Reflection(s) created by this technique have 15% of the total stats of the character named in the Absorbed Chakra statistic. Spirit Reflections created in this way may utilise all techniques possessed by that character other than Spirit Reflection Technique (techniques requiring a bloodline or other specific requirements may be utilised as if those requirements were met by the Spirit Reflection). All equipment is replaced with identical equipment that provides no mechanical bonuses or effects, cannot be used to make attacks and exists only for role-play purposes.

Is that too vague maybe?

If an object is just RP flavor, it really doesn't even need to mention it within the effect. Like, in the series if Kisame makes a clone, the clone appears to have Samehada, regardless of the fact that its basically not real.

What KC said. Characters that are cloned still have all the clothing and gear a player has visually, even if they don't actually function (otherwise all clones would be created naked, and that would be weird). Also, worst comes to worse you can always have them henge props if they need it.

Alright, sounds good to me, I mostly was just trying to cover bases, I removed the offending clause from the technique. I'll wait until we fully hash this out before I go make changes to the other rank of it in the other thread, coz I'll make all the changes at once rather than slowly drop feeding them.
