cntrstrk14 Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Flying Storm God | Hiraiushin no Jutsu | 飛雷雨神の術 Type: Ninjutsu [Kinjutsu; Powerful] Rank: Sennin Cost: x Chakra Effects: Used in the Main Phase. When determining the cost of this technique the value of 'x' is equivalent to the cost of the technique 'Hiraishin'. The user of this technique may choose to treat a target as if they had used the technique 'Hiraishin' in a phase chosen by the user when performing this technique. This technique may be performed 2 times per battle. Role Play Effect: The user may teleport themselves and up to three (3) others to a Jutsu Formula (術式, Jutsu-shiki) that they have previously created in role play. This bypasses any traveling post requirements, but the user must still post a thread announcing their travel. Description: Through mastery of Flying Thunder God (Hiraishin no Jutsu), the user may apply the bonus to other people outside of themselves. This not only allows them to travel very quickly in large groups, but also allows them to move allies very quickly around the battlefield for quick fights. Unfortunately the limitation of this technique is that the user must be in physical contact with those that he is applying the effects of Flying Thunder God (Hiraishin no Jutsu) to. This is because an attunement to the user's chakra must be made before the transportation can be preformed. Requirements: - Flying Thunder God | Hiraishin no Jutsu | 飛雷神の術 Points: 5 1
cntrstrk14 Posted December 4, 2016 Author Posted December 4, 2016 Designer Notes - Previous version- Made this require the Hirashin skill instead of just the technique. - Removed the 50 additional cost because I couldn't remember why it was there.
cntrstrk14 Posted December 13, 2016 Author Posted December 13, 2016 Updated to the new 'Hiraishin' effects.
Cellar Door Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Hiranshin would probably be the most correct name for this jutsu. I would make the effect read something like "When determining the cost of this technique the value of 'x' is equivalent to the cost of the technique 'Hiraishin'. The user of this technique may choose to treat a target as if they had used the technique 'Hiraishin' in a phase chosen by the user when performing this technique. This technique may be performed 2 times per battle." Basically the edits remove some unnecessary wording about the Main Phase, since techniques are uniformly main phase unless stated otherwise. It also clarifies what the cost of 'x' is, and it makes the wording about effects a little bit more succinct. The only real mechanical change is that it cuts the usages down to 2, which you've stated should be the new common rule, and I think it feels right here. The only other thing I would do if I were you before I come in and approve this, is check out the Role Play Effect of Hiraishin, and make this one more uniform with that one. I don't think they have very similar wordings at all anymore. After that, I think this is good to go.
cntrstrk14 Posted December 14, 2016 Author Posted December 14, 2016 Changed. Kept the Main Phase clarification because it felt important too me given the nature of the effect. Edit: Update on the name. Kept Hiraiushin since that is literally "Flying Thunderstorm God". I did this for two reasons. First, that sounds a lot more appropriate, a storm of thunder. Secondly, the kanji difference from Hiraishin is simply adding the character 雨 to it, which kind of looks like 4 characters in a box, which seemed appropriate to me given that this allowed up to four characters to travel. So we can assume that the english translation team shortened it to 'storm' to make it sound better during localization.
