Alchemy Technique; Helium Bubble | Renkinjutsu; Heriumu Utakata | 錬金術•氦泡沫

Type: Ninjutsu [Wind | Alchem]

Rank: Jounin

Cost: 320 Chakra

Effects: The target is afflicted with 'Choking' and 'Poison; 97' for three (3) turns. On the third turn of this technique the target is afflicted with 'Opening [Renkinjutsu; Heriumu Utakata]'. In addition, the target's voice becomes high pitched for the duration of this technique.

Description: The user encapsulates the opponent in a bubble of Helium gas that follows them around as the move throughout the battle field. Since Helium is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas the opponent does not even realize they are within the bubble at first. The mind of the opponent is slowed as the gas replaces the oxygen in their blood, and they soon become dizzy from the lack of oxygen without knowing why. Following the dizziness the opponent will start to feel pain and with focus the ninja can keep the opponent in this bubble until this pain overwhelms them. Depending on how completely oxygen is replaced by helium, they may lose consciousness quickly and without warning—they may literally pass out while still standing. The one tip that may help the opponent know what is going on is the change in their voice if they speak.

Designer Notes

- Previous Version
- Updated this because 'Drowning' was unapproved.
- Changed the mechanics of this drastically to remove the old 'fight' mechanic that could make this go on indefinitely.

- Increased the Poison from 99 to 100 per turn for rounded numbers.
- Added poison damage instead of random unmodified damage.
- Removed 'Earth' as it made little sense.

- Changed requirements.

Opening should be 90. 20 + (7*10). I made the cost 320 because the alternative is to make the poison damage like 99 per turn instead of 100. I can do that if you wish, but felt rounding the numbers would be preferable.

Before opening it would have been 6jp, but I see where I went wrong. Still, my numbers don't add up.

I'm not sure why 99 poison damage per turn is being thrown around? 99 per three turns is 158.4cp, whereas 100 per three turns is a perfect 160. It'd be a total of 324.4 or 325cp respectively.

Ah, my math was off. The original poison damage would be 97 damage (96.875) and not 99. It is being thrown around because my target is 320 Chakra, which is more important than the effects so the effects will get changed and not the cost. So I am using the 155 Chakra remaining to get to 320 (165+155).
