Kido Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 (edited) I've seen this on a lot of movies and wondered if a skill like this was possible for NA Suna. It seems logical, but not sure of the cost for such a skill. Name: Chika Ryokou (underground travel) Description: The user of this gift is able to travel from location to location through the soil twice as fast compared to above ground travel. As long as there aren't any water elements between both locations, the shinobi would disappear and emerge into the ground in seconds without a trace. Able to use this as a counterattack measure with a suitable jutsu. Requirement: Subtle Elements involving Wind/Earth/Grass Restrictions: To be used for travel and transport. In battle, it is to be used in conjunction with a suitable jutsu only. Cost: -2 Edited March 7, 2006 by Gornok
Jake Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Requirements: Add Inner Decapitation Technique, Subtle Elements Iwa/Suna -2
Guest Sweet Neodaddy Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Would make more sense if it was simply Iwa.
Rei Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Would make more sense if it was simply Iwa. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then his character couldn't use it.
Guest Sweet Neodaddy Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) I realize that, Rei. I'm not that stupid. It doesn't matter, he'll need to add Jake's requirements, and then he'd have to take Subtle Elements Iwa, anyway. Edited February 20, 2006 by Sweet Neodaddy

Guest Sweet Neodaddy Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I drew conclusions. Disregard it.
Kido Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) Agreed, is it good now? This is going to be cool as hell....thinking of combos to do. Edited February 20, 2006 by Gornok
Rei Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I don't know about this, anyone could easily use this skill do doge most attacks or avoid attacks for an entire battl.e
Guest Sweet Neodaddy Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Not going to do much of anything without a solid effect, probably needs that.
Kido Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) I don't know about this, anyone could easily use this skill do doge most attacks or avoid attacks for an entire battle <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wait a minute, isn't this a shinobi/ninja game? Actually I was of the idea of ambush. Just as in the animal world when they hunt their prey, which for my character, is human mostly. Of course it it be used for dodging, but would that require it to be used as a technique? Since you already required that Inner Decapitation Technique could be used, that is really as far it would go unless another tech could be made (Which I'm in the process of making once I heard word on my other techs.) This was for use of travel/transport/assasination skill, in order for use during a battle, a tech would need to be used. Plus, if I was going to use it to dodge attacks, bonuses to evasion would be an extremely high cost. Edited February 20, 2006 by Gornok
Rei Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Inner Decapitation Technique needs to be reworded it doesn't follow any of the justu rulings This was for use of travel/transport/assasination skill, in order for use during a battle, a tech would need to be used. Thought so. It would be best if you held off of the assasination section for the time being.

Agreed [holding hand up] I will withhold the assassin jutsus I created until told to release the hounds.
Rei Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I thought IDT was basically an earth jutsu used to immobilize/incapacitate the opponent? Incapacitation isn't a listed effect on Ninja-academy and it's far too powerful for immobilizing. The cost is heavily under-priced for the effect and let's not forget it could be used X amount of times with a limit.
Kido Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) underpriced? These are techniques at a gennin level, it is hard enough to maintain the cost for most of the jutsu with the meager points given in the begining. If the shinobi is dumb enough to fall for the same jutsu x number of times, then they should fall for it. Isn't there a calculation/roll they have to do in order to dodge/evade/get the hell out of the way? or simply put a die hard limit on the jutsu per battle. Edited February 20, 2006 by Gornok
Rei Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) Earth Type; Inner Decapitation Skill (Doton Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu)Type: Ninjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 30 Effect: Pulls a User underground for the next post, making the opponent lose their next response phase. Description: The user puts himself/herself underground using his/her chakra. They then can pull the opponent under and attack them. This states that the next justu will hit regardless less of stats for only 30 chakra. In no way is that reasonable. These are techniques at a gennin level, it is hard enough to maintain the cost for most of the jutsu with the meager points given in the begining. The average Gennin has over 200 in a non-tank pool, 30 or less is next to nothing and let's not forget the recover system. Stats are always the factor on NA; despite of how intelligent the characters are if one bests you in stats you'll have to fall for it. Edited February 20, 2006 by Rei
Kido Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 I see, it was basically the same problem that my Hand of Sand had so we had to change the wording. Then what about Desert Coffin/Desert Funeral? That falls on the same frame of reference as well. Some techniques that I see are just like that, they will hit and when they do, you are out of luck. Water prison Four pillar prison tech shadow binding... I understand about the wording of the jutsu and since its not mine to change...arguing is futile But what about the skill that I made? Is it approved and I could move on yet?
shizuki Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Seems good, but what is the numerical effect of the single surprise attack?
Matthias Drake Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 This should probably be a technique.
Kido Posted February 27, 2006 Author Posted February 27, 2006 (edited) this is not the technique, it is in prelude to a technique. This is for basic travel and sense through the planet. This is to allow undetected movement under the soil. So far, the technique currently used is listed above, the Inner Decapitation Technique. Which requires the member to move underground and bind the opponent in the ground. As mentioned above, and in the discussions, this is for something else and couldn't be used as a technique unless specified in the technique itself. As others are jumping from tree to tree or running along the ground, my character moves through the earth from point to point with higher speed and stealth. The technique that I would make would be along the lines of Rei's statement and the Decapitation tech. Another level of the skill is being created for the Chunnin level which would allow hunting of the target above ground while te user is underground, which also gells with the future level of above said tech. Numbers for a surprise attack will be predicate on the technique the user attacks with. Whether it is with a kunai, or a jutsu. Edited February 28, 2006 by Gornok
Kido Posted March 3, 2006 Author Posted March 3, 2006 (edited) Changed the description and requirements to clear up confusion. This could only be in conjunction with a jutsu in combat, not as an automatic defense. The jutsu used with this skill must have something to do with the ground. Raising out of it with the said jutsu. Ironwolf Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Please do not bump topics before the 72-hour mark, as for your jutsu, I may have gone myoptic, but I do not see anything wrong with it. Approval No Jutsu
