Anonymous Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 (edited) Shoujutsu style (Inner Tide) Bloodline: None Description: Finding their absolute inner calm, the practitioner has synched their own rhythm to that of a flowing tide, with a receding Ebb, followed by an advancing flow. The user have modeled a style out of this, constantly switching from offence to defense, throwing their opponent off, and building up speed and power. The reason this style is so devastating is that it begins slowly, but quickly speeds up, and builds into a driving force that soon even the greatest foe cannot hold up against. The user alternates his turns from a defensive ebb which cannot attack, to an offensive flow which cannot be stopped. Confident enough with this style, the user is able to use both stances and the Inner Tide style moves in battle Effect: User may use Inner Tide style techniques and stances. Stances: Two stances make up the Inner Tide style, called Ebb and Flow. Ebb Stance: The ebb stance only lasts one turn. During the ebb stance, user may not attack or use a technique, except for those unique to the Ebb stance. User may enter the ebb stance at the beginning of any responce phase. Flow Stance: The flow distance only lasts one turn. User may only enter the flow stance at the begining of a responce when the ebb stance was used last turn or if a technique specifically allows it. Cost: -1 **NOTE** All inner tide techniques are a type of shoujustsu, though they may or may not be long range (i.e. stabbing opponent with five short thrusts of a small weapon) and as such will have two modifiers in increments of 40. As some may consist of nin instead of taijutsu, they will then have a half nin mod as opposed to tai. Just wanted to state this now, as I would most likely otherwise have to repeat it many times in the future. Inner Tide Mastery: Cresting Wave Bloodline: None Description: User has mastered the most deadly aspect of the Inner Tide style, the cresting wave. This allows the user to utilize the ebb stance to its fullest degree. The user slowly builds up a rhythm, increasing the speed of his/her attacks and their power incrementally, and pushes themselves far past their actual power. This is where the style becomes truly devastating, allowing for a Inner Tide style user to take the time to build up their rhythm is nothing less than a death wish for a shinobi of the same caliber. Effect: Rank 1: Must be Gennin. During the time that you are in an Inner Tide stance, increase your speed by 5% (of the original) every time you successfully enter the ebb stance. This bonus disappears when you spend a turn not in an Inner Tide stance. Max of 50% Cost: -2 Rank 2: Must be Chunnin. During the time that you are in an Inner Tide stance, increase your speed by 10% (of the original) every time you successfully enter the ebb stance. This bonus disappears when you spend a turn not in an Inner Tide stance. Max of 100% Cost: -2 Rank 3: Must be Jounin. During the time that you are in an Inner Tide stance, increase your speed by 15% (of the original) every time you successfully enter the ebb stance. This bonus disappears when you spend a turn not in an Inner Tide stance. Max of 150% Cost: -3 Rank 4: Must be Sannin. During the time that you are in an Inner Tide stance, increase your speed by 20% (of the original) every time you successfully enter the ebb stance. This bonus disappears when you spend a turn not in an Inner Tide stance. Max of 200% Cost: -4 Edited October 24, 2006 by B4K4
Seven Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 1st) APPROVED 2nd) Raise cost of all of them by +2 and they all max out at 50% increase no more than that...
Anonymous Posted October 22, 2006 Author Posted October 22, 2006 (edited) 1. Thank you bunches. 2. That kinda doesnt help. The 'ebb' stance basically forces you to skip every other turn. This cuts your damage in half. The idea of the the Cresting Wave is to slowly make up for this, and in the end slightly pass it. I just personally think that 50% would be a bit too low. Seven Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 50% is enough... at 1000 Speed you hav 500 which is = 5 extra levels.... and I bet you will be stacking speed so I was underestimating... yeah 50% is my deal... because nowadays... that percentage deal is done with... actually thanks for reminding me. DENIED, no percentages only static bonuses... (forgot that was a rule >.>)
Anonymous Posted October 22, 2006 Author Posted October 22, 2006 Dang. Oh, and I wasn't going to stack them, and i didn't realize you thought i was. I was thinking each would replace the other. Oh well. Do you have any suggestions on how to balance the damge, I dont know what an good amount would be.

Stances: Two stances make up the Inner Tide style, called Ebb and Flow. EDIT: both styles are naturally initiated at the beginning of the Response phase, just to clear it up (my bro pointed out i never said when they were entered). Which stance do you start in? Ebb Stance: The ebb stance only lasts one turn. During the ebb stance, user may not attack or use a technique, except for those unique to the Ebb stance. User may enter the ebb stance only if he/she was in the flow stance during the previous turn or has performed Inner Tide ~ Moon's Pull during this turn. Flow Stance: The flow stance only lasts one turn. User may only enter the flow stance when the ebb stance was used last turn or if a technique specifically allows it. Cost: -1 Free Jutsu: Inner Tide ~ Moon's Pull Effect: Enter the Ebb Stance. Cost: 0 I dislike free jutsu. Please make it cost 1 JP, and you should make a jutsu page for this. **NOTE** All inner tide techniques are a type of shoujustsu, though they may or may not be long range (i.e. stabbing opponent with five short thrusts of a small weapon) and as such will have two modifiers in increments of 40. Anonymous Posted October 24, 2006 Author Posted October 24, 2006 (edited) So done. EDIT: I changed the wording a bit. According to the skill, there is no way to enter the stance without a technique. I could change stuff around until the skill itself allowed you to enter the stances, but then I would have to change around the wording of Cresting Wave, and I have run through it a few times in my head, and this was the least confusing way of wording it. Since you naturally enter each stance after the first time, Moon's Pull is just a place-holder jutsu for Cresting Wave. Does it really deserve a jutsu page? EDIT 2: Put it on a jutsu page. EDIT 3: Nappers told me to change it, so I got rid of the Jutsu and re-worded the skills. Edited October 24, 2006 by B4K4
