    Hi everyone! ~
  4. 1. Edited to read "- When creating a Shinjutsu technique, the JP cost is increased by 2". The cost is mentioned here, but will be duplicated in the actual cost of each technique. I'll edit the techniques to reflect this. 2. Removed. 3. There are 21 Total (possible) but 14 total (effective). I am happy with the 14 I submitted and those will likely be the extent of the style. However, I would like to leave a little bit of design space open if decide to expand the style in the future, or go in a new direction. If I do expand the style, I will be very careful to do so in a way that doesn't break the design and I'll specifically seek your input on any additional content. Also, I kind of like the aesthetic of a 3-tiered mastery system.

  6. I was not sure where to put the price adjustment. One of the clear ways that Lego-style things are unfair is the amount of techniques that I get for premium cost. I used the "+2 JP" as kind of a tax for getting the techniques. If you have a more clear way to impliment this, I will do so. Mostly flavor purposes held over from the original iteration of this style. See the description of the skill for a quick run down. A basic shinjutsu attack functions identically to a basic attack, except that it uses shinjutsu modifiers and is affected by shinjutsu skills. I will try to clarify this. Ah, this was an error on my part. There should be a total of 21 strikes/techniques: 7 Chunnin, 7 Jounin, and 7 (As of yet not made) Sennin. I did try to submit all (most) of the techniques. I have not submitted the Sennin as I am not quite sure what I would want them to do. I am somewhat willing to nix them and restrict myself to the 14 Chunnin/Jounin techs. I would much prefer to keep the 7 Sennin slots available to be submitted in the future - with the understanding that those will be reviewed critically before they get approved. I give it a 70% probability that the techniques which are currently submitted (7 Chunnin, 7 Jounin) will be the extent of the Shinjutsu strikes for at least the next several years. I hope that cleared some things up.
  7. I am alright with leaving it at 60 chakra, for the sake of uniformity across the techniques.
  8. Its only important in some situations. For example, if +x% were added after accuracy/evasion mads, then having a dynamic trap and 4 ranks of trap subtlety could, for all intents and purposes, give you a minimum to hit of 55% for a single technique regardless of your accuracy score. Thank you for the clarification. One more though. When something mentions 'Total damage' it means after -all- modifiers have been applied, not just offensive ones, right?
  9. Okay, so I seem to remember getting an answer to this on Skype, but I want to have it on the forums so I can refer to it. "+X% bonus to hit/+X% chance to dodge" (i.e. Dynamic Traps, Survival Tactics, Subtle Elements: Lightening) Do these effects happen at the same time as Evasion/Accuracy modifiers, or are they applied after?
  10. Skill 1 applies to basic attacks and all (reasonable) Taijutsu. So he can probably apply it to even his Nin-Tai hybrid attacks. If he uses it and sustains it, then he is essentially immune to the effects of the Climate jutsu, since a Taijutsu with gravity gloves fits the definition of "attack that is of the element Gravity"
  11. Simplified and color coded. Maybe that will help? Hit me up on skype next time, and I will run through this with you and try to make it clearer.
  12. I'd like your input on these first, as we talked extensively about them the last time I submitted them. Links Shinjutsu Basic Shinjutsu Techniques Advanced Shinjutsu Techniques Notes: - I divided the Shinjutsu skill up into 3 parts to make it easier to price and discuss. They are all still core to the concept. - In both the technique pages, I have all the math in spoilers at the end of the post.
  13. A slender figure came up behind the tall boy, standing not quite as tall he did. She chuckled lightly under her breath. "Silly boy, that's the entirely wrong holiday." She approached the door, stepping past the youngster. She brushed a couple strands of blond hair that had fallen across her face out of the way, and adjusted the bright red and white cap that sat atop her head. She opened the door. "Sorry I'm laa~ate! I brought cookes!" [[Yaiba has a tray of sugar, gingerbread, rasperry filled, and triple chocolate cookes]]

  18. First I get a character approved in under a month, now I have three replies to a thread I posted waiting for me when I get home from work. I think NA is trying to pull a fast one on me. >_> Okay, so. Let's go. I am going to be ressubing everything to do with the Shinjutsu style so that it is up to date. I am eliminating the Taijutsu portion of the style and focusing on Nin and Accuracy for simplicity. I'm going to try to lay out all the relevant information in all my submissions. This will lead to a lot of duplication of information and clarity in the submissions, however it will make it very obvious where I'm trying to take advantage of the system. Specifically, Shinjutsu is trying to stack attacks during a main phase to suit my needs, a 'lego block' system as it was called the last time this was put through. I will have Yaiba take multiple ranks of Inner Calm with Yamanaka Meditation, which I may also resubmit. Hopefully, I'll be able to pick out the right tools from my kit every turn and deal massive amounts of damage and effects. I will not, however, be attacking thirty times per round. Shinjutsu attacks may only be used as many times as a character can make small weapon attacks. The amount of Shinjutsu attacks usable per round is 2/4/6/8 based on ninja rank. I hope that addresses your primary concern, Zero. Rei/KC, I am unsure of the modifiers on 0 damage. I am partial to it, as I like the flavor of dealing damage even on supposedly harmless needle strikes. I'm willing to discuss it. I based it on the discussions that occurred here. I hadn't expected any interest in the style so soon (at least until I'd reposted the techs), but I'm more than willing to start the conversation here. 'Lego Blocks' is the basis of this style. This is disliked among some of the staff. I defended it last time here and I will repeat myself now. Every style tries to bend (or break the rules) a bit. This style is designed for versatility. It gives the user access to 14 'blocks' to build an attack each turn. The resubbed Chunnin techs will cost 60 chakra. The resubbed Jounin techs will cost either 100 or 120 chakra. [Note: I opened up the possibility of 'Master Level' techniques in this version. I'm not planning on theorycrafting/submitting those any time soon. I'm not sure if they would actually be a thing, but if so they would only be accessible to sennin level ninja and would cost crazy amounts of chakra] Feel free to hit me up on Skype to discuss. EDIT: SO this skill gives me access to a crapton of jutsus. I decided to figure out just how many
  19. Which is applied first, percentage or static modifiers? Such as Inner Calm/Concentration and Chakra Barrier/Defense.
  20. Austral Shinjutsu (Southern Acupuncture Arts) Acupuncture is a rare art among shinobi, requiring intense training and specialized knowledge for minimal gains. Austral Acupuncture is an esoteric branch or acupuncture originating from the islands located to the south of Mizu no Kuni. It targets 343 points along the uppermost spiritual conduits on the human body. Crisscrossing the body, these points are gathered in seven areas: head, neck, back, upper arms, torso, legs, and hands. Channeling chakra down these pathways leads to seven of the body's internal mechanisms: central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, chakra coils, heart, lungs, and liver. A practiced artist may boost or hinder the workings of these systems or organs with a particular prick. Deeper even than these, a truly skilled practitioner may affect even the seven chakras of a person's spirit: crown, third eye, throat, heart, solar plexus, groin, and root. Effect: - User gains access to Shinjutsu techniques and skills. Special: - When creating a Shinjutsu technique, the JP cost is increased by 2. - Shinjutsu techniques do not require seals. - Shinjutsu techniques may be used in melee or ranged combat, at the user's discretion - Base chance to hit with Shinjutsu is 50% - When making any Shinjutsu attack, a weapon with 'Trained Fine Point' is required. Cost: -1 Deadly Shinjutsu There are precious few documentation on this rare art, and those who pick it up need to be precise, with both hand and chakra. When used in an offensive capacity, the chakra-charged needles become unbendable and razor sharp, able to pierce the thickest of armor and leave only a pin prick. In the hands of a well-trained shinobi, acupuncture is an efficient and deadly tool. Effect: - Damage modifiers are applied to Shinjutsu techniques regardless of if their base damage is 0. - If the user would use a basic small weapon attack with a senbon, the user may instead use a Basic Shinjutsu Attack. Special: - For every 40 points the user has in Ninjutsu, Shinjutsu damage is increased by 5. - For every 40 points the user has in Accuracy, Shinjutsu damage is increased by 5. - Basic Shinjutsu Attacks cost 5 chakra, deal 0 base damage, and have no innate effects. They are treated as Shinjutsu attacks for the purposes of modifiers and skills. - In all other ways, Basic Shinjutsu Attacks function identically to a basic attack made with a senbon. Requirements: - Austral Shinjutsu Cost: -1 Shadow Shinjutsu Offensive shinjutsu techniques have cumulative effects, debilitating the victim as more and more needles are put into their body. A true master of the style is able to make every needle they throw a devastating technique, quickly putting their enemies out of commission. With a quick flick of the wrist four needles are loosed, each with deadly accuracy. Effect: - If the user would use a basic small weapon attack with a senbon, the user may instead use a Shinjutsu Strike, so long as: - The Chakra paid for the Basic Shinjutsu Strikes in a given Main Phase does not exceed 150 - The Chakra paid for the Basic and Advanced Shinjutsu Strikes in a given Main Phase does not exceed 380 - Skills such as Warrior (Senbon), Ninjutsu Mastery, and Inner Calm are applied fully to each technique. Special: - The Shinjutsu Strikes are the 21 Core Shinjutsu techniques - 7 Basic [Chunnin], 7 Advanced [Jounin], 7 Master [sennin]. - For the purposes of response phase techniques, opponents treat all Shinjutsu Strikes aimed at them as a single multi-hit technique, with the effective cost being equal to the combined unreduced chakra cost of each technique. - User may never use more Shinjutus attacks in a given main phase than the number of small weapon attacks they would have otherwise been able to make. Requirements: - Austral Shinjutsu - Chunnin Rank - 10 Post Training Cost: -2 Links Shinjutsu Basic Shinjutsu Techniques Advanced Shinjutsu Techniques First of several resubs to prepare for Yaiba's return.
