Kido Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 (edited) Clan Name: Shicchihara no Shashu – Archer of the Swampy Moor Clan Village: Oto Clan Starter: Unknown Clan Head: Unknown Clan Age and Status: Twenty generations old, known as survivalists which live in the outreaches of their territories, viewed mostly as nomadic hunters. Clan Bloodline: Kurokumoushinja – Dark Spider Follower Clan Element: Sound Clan Emblem: Clan Info: As one of the minor shinobi villages, the Hidden Village of Sound sought to increase their standing among the major hidden villages after the reconciliation of honor regained from a failed militaristic coup of their former leader. Fear and paranoia from the backlash of previous fatalistic decisions as plans to strengthen the weakened military devoid of most of their former Fuma Clan recruits dashed aside from the failed incursion of Konoha. Ideas of a new rebirth came to mind; a formation of a clan. Archery, a tradition taken mostly by the elitist and nobility and often seen as a recreation activity more than its primal uses became the weapon of choice taken. The idea of training the newly formed clan as primarily scouts and shinobi attached to teams sent in the first wave of incursions, a specialized unit used for tracking and assassination missions. The clan's new surroundings for the experiment were the uninhabitable swampland located by the base of their mountainous region named Shicchihara. The environmental parameters; tall trees with swamp vegetation and constant fog which rolled off the murky waters, made it difficult training ground to hunt with their chosen weapon, but it granted them the most grueling regiment as chakra control had to be mastered in order to gracefully adhere to surfaces to maintain a steadied shot, clear vision and patience were developed to hunt their meals with mastery. The newly formed clan assimilated tactics from the predators within the environment with the highest successful hunting pattern ratios and their success rate increased by leaps and bounds. The tarantula was adopted as their clan, having extrapolated many of their hunting tactics into their archery pursuits and trapping repertoire. They witnessed the creation of a shinobi, not of their clan but served as an example of their realized ideology. The shinobi was used for experimentation by the nefarious Sennin of a former allegiance. Kidoumaru, the deceased shinobi of the Sound Five, became a heralded warrior as well as their model for future endeavors. Over the generations, shinobi started to evolve due to the altered genetics from the bacteria located in the spores produced in the deep confines of the swamp which they call home. It was resolved that the parasitic bacteria found in many of the carcasses left behind by the arachnids in the swamp festered in the moor, unlike the tapeworm and liver fluke, which usually destroys their host, the new form of bacteria grows with the user through a symbiotic bond while bequeathing the victim with many of the attributes of their predecessor, the tarantula. With the telltale signs of the infection seen in their older shinobi, the clan later started to infect their infants with the parasite which cut their mortality rate to half the norm, but the survivors soon became what the clan seen as their greatest achievement, the Kurokumoushinja Bloodline or Dark Spider Follower, the merger of their adored clan creature and archery. Arashi Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I would say that the origin of the clan would be unknown, we don't know if Kidoumaru was the first one of his clan, or if he came from a big clan like Sasuke or Kimimaro did. My suggestion is to say that their origin is unknown, simple as that. Besides of that, good work! A lot of good information about a clan that they did not tell much about in the manganime.
Kido Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 Thanks, I changed it to read that their admoration for Kidoumaru realized the path that they gladly underwent instead.
