Rituals: During the first sunrise of a child's life, the clan emblem is implanted with chakra onto the back of the child's left hand. This mark cannot be removed.

Power source: Their bloodline allows them to absorb light, mostly they get this light from the sun, but it can be absorbed from anywhere at all, even the stars.

Clan Emblem: This is always tattooed, at birth, on the back of the left hand.

Clan Info: The Awaiken were once a very powerful clan in Kumogakure, they were peacekeepers, and smiths mostly, until a young Awaiken child was discovered trading information on Kumogakure for food in a time of famine with an enemy ninja. They were exiled from Kumogakure indefinitely. They followed rams up the mountains surrounding the village and settled on an outcropping covered in trees. They stayed there, and survived. During their first years, their numbers dropped dangerously low, because of a lack of knowledge of the area, but they repopulated.

As they lived, they learned more about the wild, cooperating with it instead of forcing to to their will. They learned what kind of berries were safe to eat and which animals to hunt. They found that, given enough time, they could raise sheep as livestock, and they began to take on farming. They had sheep and cattle, and they grew their berries. They lived like this for nearly fifty years.

They still trained as ninja, and eventually a curious thing happened. As a young boy named Siren Awaiken grew, his skin, curiously, took on a glowing hue. This was eventually attributed to radiation from so much time in the sun. When he began training, he began to harness the enormous chakra that welled inside him. He decided to try a new move, he was going to extend chakra off of his arm in a blade like shape, but what came out was not chakra, it was light. He had an elder attempt this, and the elder could not reproduce it. As the clan grew, more members began to be able to use this technique. Siren spent almost all of his time training so he could master this, and eventually, he did.

His children carried this ability as he did, and eventually, they began to train almost exclusively in ninjutsu and genjutsu. They began to develop this bloodline further, and they began to rely on mysticism. The clan took to worshiping the sun as a god, because of the life-giving light it gave to them. As they lived, they began to have an intolerance to darkness, and were always in the presence of some kind of light.

When Kumogakure took over, they were forgotten, and the clan members gradually sneaked their way back into the village. They often carry lanterns, which signifies them as members. They are very uncomfortable under NCIA rule, and are closely watched for any sign of uprising.

Ummm, the history needs working on. If they were exiled indefinably, why were they let back in? And why did their numbers decrease to a dangerously low population? More detail please.

Now for your clan, very interesting idea. Try to broaden the idea, I like now they can form a sword but it's unclear to where they receive this power. I'm thinking from the sunlight, but how did this come about? They also have tatoos, are rituals important in this clan? What do they do today? Are they still smiths, what do they think about others clans?

Just letting people know what's going on >.<. They get the power mainly from the sun, which is why they worship it, but they can absorb any kind of light at all.
