Description:

With a blade roughly 4 feet long, the hilt of which adding another foot-and-a-half to its overall length, the Kazetoku -- meaning Wind Shield -- was a weapon awarded to Mikoto Kodate's grandfather shortly after their move into Sunagakure no Sato from Kirigakure no Sato. Having joined them in their flee from the water country, the present fascination with wind techniques lead the Mikoto family friend to ultimately persuade the small group to make Sunagakure their new home. Unfortunately, his death followed soon after their resettlement, and this sword was left to the family. Supposedly, the man's ancestors had resided in a much older Sunagakure and had used the Kazetoku blade as a defensive weapon. Considering the weapon was of no use to the old man, Kodate's grandfather passed it down to him for use during his shinobi training. The water symbol dangling from the butt of the hilt was a small touch which Kodate's grandfather added to add further Kirigakure influence into his grandson.

The Kazetoku blade was originally designed as a defensive weapon meant for blocking both taijutsu, ninjutsu, and other weapon-based melee attacks. However, if the user is skilled enough in the molding and releasing of chakra, the weapon may also be used to channel ninjutsu techniques through the chakra-sensitive blade. Such a feature may not make the attack more powerful, but it saves the wielder from having to use hand signs to activate a jutsu. *Note: This is not a current effect of the sword but one to be added later as either an attribute or a skill personal to Mikoto Kodate.

Why would this be able to be upgraded with armor attributes? It's not actually attached to the body, your just using it for defensive manuervers. Such manuevers can be used through buying things like 'parry' or 'defend'.

Especially because this sword is so massive, it will be difficult to swing. You won't be able to protect yourself very well at all from speedy assaults.

Well, the reason I added in the special of "Armor Attributes" is that after taking a quick look at all of the ones on the main site, I don't see any reason why a sword couldn't have them. I mean, most of them are varying degrees of Chakra Resistance and its elemental counterpart. If a ninjutsu techniques, like the fireball technique, were to barrel down on the user of this sword, if they were to merely bring it up to defend themselves, the sword would be able to resist some of the fire damage. Likewise, with the attribute "Anti-burn," they would be able to avoid being physically burned by letting the sword take the hit as it were. Then of course there is "reflective surface" which anything remotely shiny can have.

As for the the weight of the sword, my character is going to be pretty strong, or at least role played as such. Think Cloud from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children if you will. He's a relatively thin guy but can wield that mammoth of a sword with elegant ease.

Maybe a medium sword, but not a large one, especially one near the size of Zabuza's.

I don't know if you remember, but Zabuza was a prodigy jounin, who had massive amounts of strength. Even then, he needed to hold his blade back, and swing with all his might to preform a medium speed attack. Now, attempting to dodge jutsu of various elements and speed, as a genin, will just get you killed. You'd leave yourself open much to much, and you'll never successfully be able to swing something that large.

Also, even though Cloud can swing swords as if they are as light as a feather, it's not realistic in the slightest. We -do- try to hold some level of realism on this site. In addition, your sword would break the instant most jutsu hit it, it does not even have indestructable to protect it.

Good point on the indestructible bit. I added that part in there, and if I made the blade a little shorter (changing it from a large to medium weapon) and added perhaps lightened craft in there, would that correct any illogical errors on the part of wielding it?

So, does this mean that the Armor Attributes bit is acceptable? I mean, I understand that the sword isn't "attached" to the person, but from what I've seen of the most basic armor attributes, I see no reason why that would be necessary.

I don't really see how it being a large weapon would be a problem. if anything it'd be easier for the wielder to hide behind. then again does the weapon need to be equiped/out for the armor abilities to work?

You would need Hakkai's permission for Lightened Craft first.

Assuming that he approves of it, I'm willing to allow you to have that bonus you want. However, I do need you to put what level the weapon is before I can price it.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking along the lines of Shades in that the larger (or at least broader) the weapon, the easier it would be to hide behind it. Now, if there was perhaps a Lightened Craft designed for large weapons as to make the ratio like that of a medium...could that work? If so, has someone already made that?

EDIT: Oh, and I just need a price on that Special ability. I can find the weapon and attribute prices from the main site. The cost of the attributes with the special will determine the level I wish to purchase the sword at (if the cost is relatively high, then I'd keep the sword at level one, whereas if the cost was relatively inexpensive, I'd probably up the sword level, etc.)

As I said, too heavy to swing and hide behind, while attacking in the same turn. I understand your reasoning, but no Genin will be able to do all that.

Anyway, not, it hasan't been made, but that I believe is for balance purposes. A large weapon that deals damage equal to 4x the weapon's level, with armor abilities is a bit too much. That'd also reduce how much it would cost to swing the large weapon, all this would cost you a fortune anyway.

I'd suggest just keeping it medium.

Edited and all at Level 6. So that's 120 for the level, 50 for Indestructible, and 50 for the Special...everything should be in order then, I think.

EDIT: I received permission from Cho Hakkai to use his Lightened Craft, so I added that back in. That would bring the price to 320, considering the 100 cost for his attribute.

I'm fine with this clause, if when purchasing an armor attribute you explain how it applies to your weapon. The main site attribute aside, very few can apply to both weapons and armor.

Effect added. And I'd have to post in the buy thread if I were to purchase any attributes for the sword and that is probably where they'd be screened to make logical sense. Plus, if I were to make my own, it would have to get approved for my weapon in any case.
