Baromosa Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) I made this discussion for several things I wish to (politely) discuss about summons and their current use/activity on NA. To begin, my first couple concerns: -- One: Summons with subtle elements cannot learn jutsu not from their village (besides exceptions) -- Two: What constitutes a reason a summon could have more elements? -- Three: I was curious to how many other shinobi are currently or plan to use summons? -- Four: I'm planning to create Dragon and Black Bear Summons. Since concerns 1 and 2 mean I may have to completely redo and create an ass load of techniques to fill about 80-90 jutsu points my dragon summons may take another 2 weeks to become ready again. Please, feel free to voice your opinions or bring up things you were curious about and or concerned for. I figure I might as well work on summons and techs since I can't leave Fang for a while. Full-metal Dragon Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I've Created Salamander summons, that haven't been moved yet, but have two approvals, and I plan to make techs and use my summons as Jiraiya does, where there is a summon for nearly every situation. Quote
Nagori Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 ...Jiraiya doesn't have a summon for every situation...Pein most certainly does, though. I'm still in the middle of making my Great Lion Summons, but the hardest thing is simply making the jutsu appropriate for them. Quote
Full-metal Dragon Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Yes for the next few levels of summons, I am actually going to have to do research to figure out what Salamanders are capable of, and make appropriate items, and jutsu for them, as I've only made 1-3 so far. In saying for every situation, I'm saying as in he has a defense toad, smaller toads. Toads that become houses, stomachs. It is pretty safe to say, most of his jutsu in the show revolved around his toad summoning. Which is what I tried to say by that. Quote
Kouta Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Concern 1: I've never liked that. If they have subtle elements, I say give them the jutsu of the subtle they took. Concern 2: Aside from my ruling of concern 1, you can't have multiple element summons. Also, handy fact: All summons have ot have the SAME base element. You can't have a wind dragon, and a fire dragon, and an ice dragon. You can start them all as fire, then just give them subtle wind or subtle ice in order to change them. Concern 3: Many shinobi have summons, most especially frogs and slugs. I know Cho uses Panda. Kouta used to use the Sand Beings, but I've never ported them to 5.0. I'm currently constructing Deer Summons. Quote
Shades Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) i'm working on some summons for my next character. Edited September 14, 2008 by Shades Quote
Baromosa Posted September 15, 2008 Author Posted September 15, 2008 Hmm, I thought as much. *sighs* I suppose I'm just being lazy but I'm trying to avoid creating a boat load of jutsu. I suppose I should get it out of the way now... but I'm glad a mod agrees that the one element rule is pretty bad. Deer summons sound potentially interesting, it reminds me of the pokemon stantler i think, the psychic one lo. Genjutsu deer? Pretty cool. I was thinking of making Taijutsu/Weapon based bears after my dragons. Not to mention a few surprises I don't wish to reveal quite yet =p Quote
Full-metal Dragon Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 When he said that, I also envisioned that deer with the eye shaped antlers from pokemon. I want a butt load of jutsu like the people have for Toad summons, but I don't think I could come up with that many things it could do. Quote
cntrstrk14 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 For summons learning other elements, its more so a matter of sense, and also as a means to tie the 'family' of summons together. As Kouta said, you can't have an ice dragon, a fire dragon, etc. They should all be the same element alignment. A bear wouldn't breathe fire on that account, and a bird wouldn't manipulate earth. Doesn't make much sense. If you want exceptions for summon elements, the best way is to run it by me and I will let you know. Quote
Baromosa Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 *nods* now that you explain it like that, I need to better define exactly what type of dragons I am using and what ties them together. Thanks! Quote
