On the other hand, the young puppeteer does do enough within his clan estates to keep himself in an average shape. His skin is light in color, which in turn causes his hair to really stand out to people. On his lower left leg, Saikusu has a scar that he had obtained as a young child while assisting one of the older members in his clan in making a puppet met for farming. Besides that he has suffered no other damage to his body. On the other hand, Saikusu is constantly plagued with illness, as his immune system often fails to protect him from simple environmental factors. His skin is light in color, which in turn causes his hair to really stand out to people. Hair Crimson red hair that flows in length just beyond the young man's shoulders. Spiked throughout, the back of Saikusu's hair reaches for the sky while his bangs hang down to each side of his face. On each of the tips of the young man's hair erupt jet black ends, contrasting with that of the crimson. Eyes Much like his hair color, Saikusu's eyes are crimson in color that examine the ever growing world around the young puppeteer. Crimson orbs that will one day look down on the world and let it know who he is to become. Apparel A oddly made jacket of darker material which hangs down a bit past the boys chest. Extending from the top of the vest is a large white color that can be zipped up to hide Saikusu's face. Covering in enitrety the boys right arm, a white cloth sprouts from a shirt laying just under the dark jacket. His left arm though is revealed as it's a short sleeve compared to the other arm. His left wrist though is wrapped in bandage which is then covered by a small yellow braclet with clan symbols about it. A white cloth then envelops the puppeteers lower body with black slacks laying under that which reach down at the man's knees. To tie together the outfit, Saikusu has white cloth wrapped over black sandals that protect his feet from the earth below. _______________ Persona Chapter 1 ~ The Beginning A young man held back for most of his life, Saikusu has recently been able to express his personality in working class creations, puppets that the clan uses to barder for water and food. Due to the extensive time he had to study, Saikusu has become well versed in history and because of that has been able to learn from the past mistakes of older generations. Peace was a powerful lesson the young man had learned in his studies, and because of this he is a young man who would prefer to settle things over a cup of tea rather than to act against someone in a violent way. Due to the weakened immune system that occupies the young man's body, he has developed a bit of a hesitant nature though because of the fact that he has been secluded within his clan estates he still yearns to venture out an partake in new things in the world of the shinobi. Chapter 2 ~ A New Path In the two years after becoming an Iwagakure Genin, Sai began to develop a distate for his village, his loyalties steadily crumbling. After being rejected as a candidate for an IAF position as well as being dropped from a Jounin's care, the Kaitaiseichuu would start questioning his relationships with Iwa and how he fit into the whole of things. Saikusu would fall back into an introverted way of thinking, keeping an emotional distance from anyone in the village and even his own kinsmen. Chapter 3 ~ No Turning Back Saikusu's personality would drastically change in the care of the Kayaku Bandits, becoming more confident in his abilities while opening himself up to his companions. During his stay in Canyon Country the boy would begin to take part in shady dealings for the sake of his new found family, molding into Sai a dog eat dog mentality when it came to the things he wanted. Unafraid to get his hands dirty for the sake of his own cause, a twisted sense of law would begin to stir within the young puppeteer. Chapter 4 ~ Lost in the Dark Losing what family the boy had developed in the criminal element of Canyon Country, Sai's personality would again take a departure from that of anything he had been known for previously. Slowly the man's connection with the modern world would fade, taking with it what was left of the Kaitaiseichuu's friendly persona. What had been left was the staggering hate the young man had for Konohagakure and a twisted sense of justice. Likes Mechanical Gadgets, Tea, Peace Dislikes Fighting, Stuck Ups, Insects _______________ History ★ Chapter 1 ~ The Beginning A child, born of a mysterious people hidden among the cliffs and the peaks of Iwagakure, grew up as a sickened individual. His body suffered from a weak immune system, and because of that was forced indoors and away from many physical activities must children would partake in. Due to this though, the child has learned the peace of silence, the value of study, and the focus needed to utilize the gift of his clan, the art of puppeteering. Kaitaiseichuu Saikusu, the sickened child of the Kaitaiseichuu clan. As a young boy, Saikusu had always wanted to aid the engineers in his familiy estates, though the elders that governed those within the clan knew of the boys weakened body and becaused of that protested the childs involvement in the creation process. It had always been thought that the young Saikusu would only find himself worsening his condition, and in doing so prevent the engineers completing their work. The fact that the elders did not seem to know though, was that boys would be boys, and the young Saikusu would learn to defy his elders so that he could do what he was told he couldn't. This was Kaitaiseichuu Saikusu, the defying child of the Kaitaiseichuu clan. An aged puppeteer was one of the few people who saw Saikusu as more than a sickened child, and because of that allowed the boy to defy the elders by working with him in secret. As the boy grew he aided the old man in making working class puppets, those that would be traded with vendors in Iwagakure, used for farming purposes and simple manual labor. After the two had developed worked together for some time, the old man decided to allow Saikusu to accompany him into the hidden village in order to trade. The fateful day though would be the day that the NCIA would take the country, and in doing so would take away a friend. During the invasion, Saikusu had been forcefully seperated from the old man via a clan puppet under the influence of a unique jutsu of the man's arsenal. The reason for such a thing to happen was that the group had found themselves in the middle of the chaos brought on by the Kumo Empire. From that day on the boy would harbor a hate for the empire and the newly created NCIA. This was Kaitaiseichuu Saikusu, the robbed child of the Kaitaiseichuu clan. Without the man to allow him to enduldge in his desire to create, Saikusu had grown weary and needed something else to occupy his days. The study of tea, an odd fascination soon would grip the young boy almost as much as the creation of puppets had. The new hobby of the young man had actually seemed to improve his health, as the anti-oxidants and what not would go to work on the weak system within the boy. This of course was noticed by the elsers of the clan and recently allowed the boy to practice the art of creation within the estates. Ironically the time in which the clan decided this, the NCIA within the country had been ran out by the resistance forces within the nation. It would be a new beginning for both the country and the young Saikusu, eager to become a skilled puppeteer. This was Kaitaiseichuu Saikusu, the determined child of the Kaitaiseichuu clan. Chapter 2 ~ A New Path It had been two years since Saikusu had been approved to act as a shinobi of the village, and in that time he took part in a few operations to unimpressive to note as it was such for a genin at the time. At one point Saikusu was invited to join the junior corps of the IAF, the flying navy of Iwa, however after talks between the Kaitaiseichuu elders and the village, it was decided that Saikusu would be removed from speculation for the position he had been assigned. This was the beginning of Sai's eventual dislike of the village. Sometime after the IAF incident, Saikusu was summoned to the Kage's Summit to be assigned an instructor as the village finally got back it's feet and was able to free up the higher ranking shinobi for the somewhat mundane task. The boy had been paired up with another puppeteer, though it was no one he knew in particular. It would not have mattered much either way, for the team broke up almost as fast as it came together due to the instructor's attention being required elsewhere. With that the Kaitaiseichuu's resolve for his village would further crumble. In the weeks after the disbandment of his newly established team, Saikusu was approached by a mysterious woman in the mountains whom was on the run from her country, and though the time Sai spent with the woman was brief it influenced him further, his love for his country now at an all time low. Not long after meeting the strange missing-nin in the mountains the Kaitaiseichuu decided to flee from his family estates and leave Iwa without approval from anyone but himself. Something was calling for him, something that Iwa just didn't have, and so he left with no particular destination in mind. He would eventually find himself in the country of wind, where his life would change forever. Chapter 3 ~ No Turning Back After leaving his home nation of Iwagakure in search of something he didn't quite understand, Saikusu was attacked by a group of bandits upon taking a breather in the Country of Wind. The encounter would lead to the boy's eventual joining of the gang, The Kayaku Bandits. The Bandits were a criminal element hidden away deep in Canyon Country, making occasional strikes against local villages in the area. It would be here that Sai would hone his abilities while taking part in the shady dealings of the Kayaku. In this time the young man would develop a connection with members of the cell, eventually looking to them as the family that he never felt he had back in Iwa. Months after joining the group, Saikusu would take part in what was to be a rather standard highway robbery so that he might aid in replenishing basic supplies for the bandits. The caravan targeted however, would not be the standard pickings usually encountered by the group, but rather a cell of Konoha shinobi intent on sending much needed supplies to a nearby village. After a bout of intense fighting there would be Konoha blood spilt by the Kaitaiseichuu's hand, and with survivors able to get away, the brand of missing-nin would be cemented with the young puppeteers name. Soon after the engagement with the Hidden Leaf Shinobi, new members would join the ranks of the Kayaku Bandits. It would be in this time that the young Saikusu would grow wary of the individuals who were not directly associated with the group upon his joining, and work to test those he felt uneasy of. This would lead to Sai's first encounter with Uchiha Kohaku, a missing-nin from the Hidden Leaf. Despite going by another name, Kohaku's lineage would be discovered by the activation of his Toripuruha Sharingan. Against all odds, the Puppeteer would defeat the Uchiha marking the end of any relations with the Leaf Shinobi. Sometime after the bout with Kohaku, The Hidden Leaf dispatched several units of shinobi to rid the country of it's criminal element, particularly the Kayaku Bandits. The fighting had developed at some point after the young puppeteer had left to one of the small villages for basic supplies for one of his puppets. Upon returning to the hideout in which he had called home for so long he had been welcomed by the devastation left after the battle. The cave network that he had taken up residence in for so long had been utterly sent to ruin, and their was no sign of those he called family. The only piece of evidence he could find was a bloodied Konoahgakure Headband. This alone would serve to cement his absolute hate for the Hidden Leaf. With nothing left to call his home, Saikusu fled the Country in search for some way to avenge his fallen comrades. Chapter 4 ~ Lost in the Dark With the destruction of his home in the land of Canyons, Saikusu had no where to go but a remote village some distance away from the Canyon Country. It would be here in this village that the boy would receive summons from a surviving element of Kayaku Bandits just outside of Kusagakure. Having no where else to go, and pondering the fate of those he had called family, the young shinobi would venture off towards the Hidden Grass and encounter Oda Tenchi, his summoner. It would be discovered that the letter from the bandit remnants had been false and that this man only looked to take advantage of Sai's hate for the hidden leaf to press an objective against the great shinobi nation. With vengeance lingering in his heart, the boy would expect the man's summons and join him in his efforts. It would be in this time that Saikusu's puppet technique evolved greatly, allowing him to face off against squads of shinobi without any additional aid, leading to the death of many Kusa shinobi that stood in his way while engaging in Tenchi's various shady tasks. As a result of his actions within Kusagakure, he would be recognized further as a criminal of Iwagakure and officially made a target by the great shinobi nations. With this in mind, the young man's activity would become tempered by the knowledge that there were those in the world that now actively sought to crush the last remaining vigil of the Kayaku, Saikusu himself. Puppets cannot be used without this technique. - Can only control a puppet with up to 250 Durability and/or 30 Part Slots. - May be activated in the setup phase, counts as ‘drawing' your puppet. - Must be activated multiple times for multiple puppets. - Chakra is always spent in the cost of this technique, regardless if your puppet is a 'power puppet' or a 'control puppet'. Description: This jutsu uses strings of chakra from the user's fingers to control puppets like marionettes. Another useful quality of this skill is the fact that the puppet can take the form of another person, usually its user, allowing the user to trick their enemy into thinking they're fighting a living person. Any number of chakra strings can be used to control a puppet, but users with more skill using the technique can use fewer strings per puppet. Though the downside to this is that it takes a long time to learn and even longer to practice, so it is rare to find a ninja who can use puppets that does not concentrate on puppet fighting. The technique works by transmitting chakra into recievers within a puppet allowing a wireless interaction between user and creation. The range of the technique is only as vast as the range of the users ability to transmit chakra. Due to the fact that the usual chakra strings that are associated with the puppet technique are not being applied while using this technique it is easy for the user to trick their opponent into thinking they are fighting a living creature. May use target Puppet to perform a Ninjutsu or Taijutsu known by the user in the Main Phase. Description: The puppet is a natural extension of the puppeteer. Die Die Bomber [Rank I] [-2] (Clan Element) Type: Ninjutsu [Kugutsu; Personal Clan] Rank: Genin Cost: 2x Chakra (x-cost of original attack) Damage: N/A Effect: Activated in the set-up phase as a free action. Any 'basic attack' made by a puppet used by this puppeteer while this jutsu is active instead causes the puppet to self destruct, causing damage to the opponent equal to the Current Durability of the puppet. The puppet is then considered to be destroyed and removed from the characters inventory. If the puppet happens to be indestructable, then it is considered unusable for the remainder of the battle. May only effect puppets the user of this technique has made themselves. The user must pay the cost of this technique every time a basic attack is made if the user wishes its effects to proceed. Total damage may not exceed 80 Base Damage. Description: A jutsu created by the sickly puppeteer, Kaitaiseichuu Saikusu. By utilizing this style of attack, the user may choose to turn his puppets into 'Suicide Bombers', sacrificing their functionality for raw power. Manipulating his chakra in a certain way, Saikusu is able to inact an instant detonation within his puppets causing their parts to propell out at an opponent violently. Indeed this style of attack is frowned upon by the Kaitaiseichuu clan elders as the use of this technique dictates that a puppet intentionally be put in a self destructive situation instead of one that would preserve their 'Battle Life'. This jutsu targets one of the users puppets and destroys it. May be used in the Main Phase or the Set-Up Phase. If used in the Set-Up Phase, the user's Main Phase is not consumed however the clones are destroyed at the end of the turn. Clones may not use jutsu. Clones have health equal to the durability of the puppet destroyed, with the rest of their stats equaling 1/10 the users. Clones can be targeted by Jutsu/Skills/Etc that effect puppets. 2 clones may be created by shinobi of Gennin rank, 6 by Chuunin, 10 by Jounin, and 18 by Sennin. Description: In similar fashion with any other clone technique, Marienetto Bunshin can make up to several clones made out of a sacrificed puppet. Generally used when in a tight spot as it is generally looked down up to destroy ones own possessions. The clones take after the puppet that was sacrificed in their creation. Kugutsu no Jutsu: Azumaken (Puppet Technique: Blade of the East) [-1] (Clan Element) Type: Ninjutsu [Kugutsu] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 72 Damage: 90 Effects: Requires a bladed weapon. Description: A rather straight forward attack where a puppeteer commands his creation to engage a target with a bladed weapon. Despite it's seemingly simple objective, it gets the job done when needed. Requires a bladed weapon. Description: For a puppet technique, Jinsokugachi is a rather over the top technique involving a variety of flashy swings of a weapon that doesn't result in much damage, but rather serves to dizzy an opponent. Kugutsu no Jutsu: Myamini Wakarikitta (Puppet Technique: Absurdly Obvious) [-2] (Clan Element) Type: Ninjutsu [Kugutsu] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 80 + X Damage: 100 + Y Effects: Requires a bladed weapon. Weapon damage and effects are factored into this technique. X equals the cost of using the weapon; Y equals the damage dealt by the weapon. Weapon damage and costs may be raised up to the ninjutsu cap of the ninja's relative rank. The cost & damage of this technique may never break this ninjutsu cap. Description: This technique is named not for the way in which it engages an opponent but rather the obvious use of utilizing tools on hand when dealing with an opponent. Otherwise this technique is quite simple, involving the rushing of a puppet towards an opponent and delivering a slashing blow. Kugutsu no Jutsu: Aoi Kasai (Puppet Technique: Infernal Pre-Igniter) [-2] (Clan Element) Type: Ninjutsu [Kugutsu; Fire] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 100 + X Damage: 50 [Fire] + Y [Weapon] Effects: Requires a weapon with the effect 'Inferno Blade'. While ignited, a puppet is instructed to pursue it's target and engage with the blade in question. Kugutsu no Jutsu: Blade of the Cherry Blossom (Puppet Technique: Sakuraken) [-2] (Clan Element) Type: Ninjutsu [Kugutsu] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 96 + X Damage: 20 + Y Effects: Requires a bladed weapon. Weapon damage and effects are factored into this technique. X equals the cost of using the weapon; Y equals the damage dealt by the weapon. Target is dazed for 2 turns. Weapon damage and costs may be raised up to the ninjutsu cap of the ninja's relative rank. The cost & damage of this technique may never break this ninjutsu cap. Description: Utilizing their equipment to it's fullest, a puppeteer will instruct their creation to engage a target, creating a wide range of sword maneuvers that serve to daze an opponent rather than dealing the most idea amount of damage. Though this technique might seem over the top to some, it is useful in the overall scheme of things. (-) Earth Element (-) Earth Type; Minor Tremor [-1] (Earth Specialty) Type: Ninjutsu [Earth] Rank: Gennin Cost: 35 Chakra Damage: 5 Effect: Opponent gains the Prone status effect for one turn. If this technique is followed with another Iwa element technique that causes damage, they take 10% more damage from it. Description: By focusing the correct amount of chakra, the user stomps on the ground. By doing this in synch with the release of some chakra to the feet, the ground begins to ripple and sends out a single wave of earth towards the target. Once knocked over, the target is further exposed to more earth techniques. This makes a decent combo technique when used correctly. Earth Type: Earthshatter [-1] (Earth Specialty) Type: Ninjutsu [Earth] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 55 Chakra Damage: 30 Effect: If this technique is used on a target that has been affected by the Prone status in the last two of their turns or currently has the Prone status, then this technique deals 20 more damage. Target also gains the Startled status effect for two turns. Description: Carefully collecting a hand of soil or terrain, the user gathers it in their palm and lightly blows upon it. Upon doing so, it then covers the target and suddenly coagulates all over them, as though squirming. With one final handseal, the hardening soil finally settles, only to violently shatter; impacting the target with shards of galvanized soil and terrain. Quite visually impressive, it is a perfect demonstration of a shinobi's progression from Gennin to Chuunin rank. Soil Clone (Iwa Bunshin no Jutsu) [-2] (Earth Specialty) Type: Ninjutsu [Earth] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 75 per clone (max of 3 clones on the field) Effect: Each Soil Clone has 1/4 stats of the user, but only 1hp. They are automatically hit by any attack that includes them as a target (they get no dodge roll). Description: In similar fashion with any other clone technique, Iwa Bunshin No Jutsu can make up to several clones made out of soil from the ground. Used to trick the opponent in a clever way. When the opponent hits one of these clones, it turns back into soil but latches onto the opponent, thus hindering his/her movement. Earth Type; Pinpoint Fault [-2] (Earth Specialty) Type: Ninjutsu [Earth] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 90 Chakra Damage: 40 Effect: Target character is unequipped of all pieces of equipment that are not attached to their body. Victim may pay a setup phase to pick up a single piece of equipment per turn. Opponent gains the 'Prone' status effect for one turn. Description: Creating a temporary fault line running beneath the opponent, the user taps into the line and begins to make the earth immediately around it shift. This causes a small scale earthquake that basically knocks the target off their feet and flings their equipment every which way. While it’s not particularly impressive to see, it is still very effective and is fantastic for setting up combos against over-equipped opponents. After all, people seem to like it shaken, not stirred. Earth Type; Avalanche [-1] (Earth Specialty) Type: Ninjutsu [Earth] Rank: Gennin Cost: 30 Chakra Damage: 10 Effect: Area of Effect Description: The user puts their hands within the ground and pulls out two chunks of rock. By using their chakra they control the rocks to hurl them at the ground. They break into many pieces, which are propelled by the users chakra, within a 20 foot radius of the user. The technique is used for hitting multiple opponents. (-) Fire Element (-) Blaze (Kaen) [-6] (Chunnin) Type: Ninjutsu [Fire] Rank: Jounin Cost: 150 Chakra Damage: N/A Effect: Inflicts 75 unmodified fire damage a turn to anyone that enters melee with the user for the next three posts. During this time, if the user hits the enemy with a melee attack, they take an additional 75 unmodified fire damage. If the user attacks the opponent with a melee attack of otherwise comes into melee range with them they may roll a dodge roll modified normally to avoid the damage. Description: The user is engulfed in a blaze of flames that consumes their entire body. In every direction around them up to a foot away the air is lit aflame. Anyone that gets to close will be burned by the intense heat surrounding their body, and a melee fighter with this technique is an even more dangerous opponent than normal.
