Eechi-go Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) .: Chomp! II:. Type: Taijutsu [Personal][style-less] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 92 Damage: 90 Effects: The opponent is inflicted with 30 ‘bleed’ damage for the next two turns. Description: The trademark technique that gave Kajiru his nickname. It’s very simply a wide-mouthed lunge at the opponent’s throat. With his shark teeth, Kajiru is easily able to bite down on his opponent’s neck, piercing through the flesh with almost no effort, and likely leaving a bloody wound that normally scars. Points: 5 (Evolving) .: Samehametsu [shark’s Bane II]:. Type: Taijutsu [Personal][style-less] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 100 Damage: 150 Effects: N/A Description: A simple, powerful haymaker that Kajiru has been using ever since he was five. It’s his premier killing technique on sharks, and provides enough force to knock them out of the water and onto the beach. This works better on humans than sharks, ironically. Points: 4 (Evolving) .: Guraindaikuchi [Chum Grinder II]:. Type: Taijutsu [Personal][style-less][Multi-Hit] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 27 per strike (Maximum of three) Damage: N/A Effects: For each successful strike on the target, this technique deals 25 ‘bleed’ damage for two turns. Description: A violent set of stabs that Kajiru uses to typically gut wildlife in order to turn them into chum. Due to the assault being so quick, the target rarely feels any pain until Kajiru has stopped stabbing, in which case all their wounds tend to open up and release chunks of flesh and blood into the water, or air as the case may be. Points: 5 (Evolving) Requirements: Must have a weapon equipped. Edited September 30, 2011 by Eechi-go
Rhap Sodos Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 .moved back. The total bleed damage in a single technique cannot break the damage cap for that technique when added together with the regular damage that it deals. Chomp! II would allow you to do 250 total damage if it hits.
Hardcore Skittlez Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Chomp's costing is off. 2/3(90)=60 30[bleed]*.8=24, 24*2(turns)=48 60+48= 108. Same deal for Chum grinder; 25[bleed]*.8=20, 20*2(turns per hit)=40, so it'd be 40 cost per attack made.
Eechi-go Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) Bleeding/Burning/Poison: User loses x HP every turn (x is determined in the technique that inflicts bleeding). Bleeding/Burning/Poison damage begins to take place on the turn after the attack hits. So if a technique hits an opponent for 20 bleed damage for two turns, the first turn they are hit, the second turn they take the damage and the third turn they take the damage again. The total bleed damage in a single technique cannot break the damage cap for that technique when added together with the regular damage that it deals.Max Duration: 3 turns DP: 0.8x/turn (x = The normal DP (cost) of the damage that it is being applied to.) You price bleed based on what the normal cost of the damage would be. So actually, we were both wrong (which isn't a surprise on my part since I editted it literally right after I woke up.) since the bleed damage on chomp is 30, you do the cost ratio for that first, which is 20, and then multiply it by .8, which equals 16. Multiply that by 2 and you get 32. So altogether Chomp should cost 92 As for Chum Grinder, it's 25 bleed damage, and the ratios for that make it 16.6 for it's normal cost, but then .8 of that is 13.3, times two since it lasts for two turns, and you still come up with 27 per strike. EDIT; However, as Chomp's original problem still shows up, hitting with all 5 would throw the bleed damage up to 250 damage, so I'm going to pull a few attacks off of it. But this reminds me that the Gennin versions are likely inaccurate as well, due to them using the same template, so I'll pull them back to fix them up as well. Edited September 30, 2011 by Eechi-go
Hardcore Skittlez Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 DP: 0.8x/turn (x = The normal DP (cost) of the damage that it is being applied to.) Bold section is where the error came from. DP and Cost are two very separate things according to the rest of the main site, so that should probably be amended. It also means that I've been pricing bleeds wrong for a very, very long time. Anyways, your math is sound- so App'd once you get the edits made.
Eechi-go Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 Bleeds are tricky whoresluts to price, not gonna lie. Don't blame yourself for it. Anywho, edits are up, gonna go fix the Gennin ones now.
