cntrstrk14 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 • Renkin Hijutsu; Tenka| Alchemy Secret Technique; Ignition | 錬金秘術•点火Type: Ninjutsu [Fire + Lightning]Rank: SenninCost: 80 + 130x ChakraDamage: 190 Damage per StrikeEffects: This technique may have up to four (4) strikes. The user may add one (1) turn of 'Exposed' to up to two (2) strikes of their choosing. If an opponent used a Wind based jutsu since the user's previous turn, treat this technique as a Dynamic Trap. This jutsu may not be used in rainy climates.Description: The ultimate control of Fire type jutsu. The user, with the aid of alchemy and a simple snap of their fingers, changes the oxygen content of the air within the battlefield and erupts it with a small electrical spark. The result is a violent, yet precise, series of explosions which can devastate enemy forces. If focused, it can deal a devastating blow to a single target, or if need be, it can be used to take out multiple targets in a field. Depending on the intensity and amount of oxygen created in the surrounding area, the user can also control how badly the opponent will be burned by the following eruptions. This technique was created and mastered by Alchem Syaoran and can only be taught to those of high talent and ability keen to his own. The control and range of ability of this technique has brought fame to Syaoran and truly exemplifies his expertise in the field of Ninjutsu as well as his own bloodline.Restrictions: Alchemic Eye: Mastery, Alchemic Thought: Mastery, Elemental Speciality; Fire, Elemental Speciality; LightningPoints: 9
cntrstrk14 Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 Notes - The original can be found here. - Updating because the original had way way too many options on it. The JP cost would need to be vastly increased to keep it the way it was. - Goal is to make a somewhat versatile technique that shows mastery of fire.
Kouta Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 2 things: 1. What cost are we paying for the Chance to be Dynamic Trap? Extra JP? Extra Cost? I see 40 Chakra just kinda floating, is that what you intended it to be? 2. You only need to pay for exposed once. You also don't need to restrict it to two strikes. For 40 CP the "jutsu" can carry Exposed, regardless of how many strikes it has. So you can just say 40 + 130x, and get the effect you've desired so far.
Cellar Door Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I think you mean previous turn, rather than following in the bit about the D. Trap.
cntrstrk14 Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 Thanks KC, I did. Fixed! 1. I lowered my damage, I realized my math was wrong. My idea is that I am paying marginally worse. Ratios and leveling it behind heavy restrictions to gain the possibility of it being a Dynamic Trap. 2. This is gray area, and will soon be false. If you only pay for one status effect, you only get one chance to hit for it. Allowing all the strikes to have a chance to deal that would be like making a 300 damage technique that had 4 strikes, all of which had the chance to inflict the full 300 damage if at least one of them hits. This would lead to a game where every technique is 5 strikes.
Hardcore Skittlez Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Where is this 40 floating coming from? What I'm seeing right now is that it costs 130 per strike(rounded up from 127) plus 80 (pays for 2 attempts to afflict exposed).
cntrstrk14 Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 I have no idea what 40 floating was being spoken about earlier. Your math is correct.
Cellar Door Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Make the cost '80 + 150x' and the JP cost 10 and I'll throw an app on this. Dynamic Traps don't normally cost more because of their restrictions, but this effect is completely avoidable by the opponent if they don't use wind. If you wanted to ignore the cost altogether, I could be willing to jive with an added drawback. Like maybe the jutsu not being able to work in the rain. As a port from FMA, I think that would be kind of cool.
cntrstrk14 Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 Adjusted to not work in the rain, because that flavor speaks volumes to me.
