How well will you learn a language by repeating four sentences that are so obscure and poorly written? Not very. Rosetta Stone has some innovative and effective methods. It's a good program to review and supplement another series after everything else has been worked on. By itself, however, it is too flawed to be anywhere near useful.

Rosetta Stone is the most horrible creation. Good God, throw it away now. Buy 'Living Language [insert Language Here]: Beginner-Intermediate' and supplement it with flashcards, Dover's 'Essential Grammar of [insert Language Here],' and a progressive reader if you can find it for the target language. I got 'The Complete Calvin and Hobbes.'

Sorry it has taken me a while to reply, Rawr, I don't check this section that often. Two strong references, my good friend. Not that they were intentional to say "Destroy nationalism!" because I don't think that is your point of view, just an observation on my part.

Not really--instead, they would serve as the "big" meetings on the IRC channel. Instead of hopping on the boards, posting "evry1 get n nowz," it would provide a date which people can work around if they wish to join. It's not as if they will be the only times anyone can join the IRC.

Why not create an IRC calendar? Say, every 1st Monday, 2nd Tuesday, 3rd Wednesday, and 4th Thursday, with sporadic Fri-Sun meetings. Or pre-set them every month? At least, that's what I observe on other websites, with different schedules of course.
