PhantasyIV
Skin? Perhaps muscle.
Ironwolf
Yeah, I'll go for skin, too. Because look at the riddle, we see it and yet we look past it, it is only as strong as it is flexible, it protects us from desease as we protect it from harm. PhantasyIV
In addition to ironwolf's statement, the first line of the riddle says "skin" to me. Each one of those has happened to my skin in some form or another at some point in time. Gnawed, chewed, ripped, broken, and battered. Although when you get a callous, the skin is very strong and hardly flexible... Edited June 12, 2005 by PhantasyIV
Mokujin
Alright, then I'll give the final answer... The answer is Skin... Victory is mine...

Ravage Nocturne
But you lacked the insight of the clue, which was required, Aether. As for all whom attempted the second riddle: You are close, but incorrect. The integumentary system is not the answer. Guest matrim
Just a simple guess, but from the sound of it, i'd say bones. I'm probably wrong. My second guess is grass. It matches all the requirements as far as I can see. Edited June 12, 2005 by matrim

Guest Moth
ZOMBIE. Gnawed, chewed, ripped, broken, and battered. Zombies gnaw, chew, rip, break and batter their victims; turning them into zombies. So zombies have these attributes. Cut, removed and reborn, and overlooked. Zombies cut the brains away from the rest of your body, then you are reborn as one of them and overlooked as some dumb corpse. I am alive, yet I do not breathe. I am alive, yet I do not live. I have no life of my own, but my symbiotic relationship causes me to thrive. Zombies are undead. Zombies and humans live together symbiotically – zombies eat human brains to survive, humans make crappy zombie flicks to make money from impressionable fools. And all the best video games involve zombies. ADMIT IT. Defenses build with parasitic leeching. Zombies grow more powerful by eating more and more brains. Resistances formed with absorption. "” "” "” Strong as flexible, alive as dead, resistant as fragile. Zombies can break down doors and lift cars, but they're also really squishy and malleable. Zombies are dead but they walk. Zombies are resistant to knifes, hammers and katanas, but not to shotguns, fire-axes or harpoon guns. I am that which is in visible sight, yet often times looked past. They look like dumb corpses. People walk past graveyards and say "Hey! Check out those dumb corpses!” And walk on. You know you've done it before. I give protection to my host, and it to me. Zombies protect the secret underground laboratories of their wicked masters. I am the means of obtaining various tasks accomplished. Umbrella Corp. and Wal-Mart both make rather extensive use of zombies to achieve world domination. What am I? A ZOMBIE. I'd like the ten dollars in cash form please~ Edited June 12, 2005 by Moth
