Cloudnine Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) Hagemasu Taijutsu: Twin Serpent StyleThe Hagemasu, hailing from Otogakure, have incorporated the village’s Serpent Style into their arsenal of techniques. The taijutsu style evolved as the clan evolved, and clan members became able to partially split with their sound twins so that the twin’s limbs could be used as extra extensions of their own body, to be named the Celestial Limbs Stance. Equipped with an extra set of arms and a mastery over the eerie field of infrasonics, the Hagemasu created the Twin Serpent Style. It matches the village’s Serpent Style in its explosive strikes, coupled with the fearsome imagery of the Celestial Limbs Stance and unsettling feeling of infrasonic waves, can cause even the most steadfast of opponents to at least hesitate before the Hagemasu assuming the god-form of destruction. BLOODLINE: -Hagemasu [Advanced Taijutsu Style] EFFECT: Use of this Advanced Style allows the user to gain Destruction Charges. Any existing Venom Charges from Serpent Style are converted into Destruction Charges. All charges are kept by the user of the jutsu (be it the master or twin), and can not be transferred to the twin/master. While using this style, all taijutsu, weapon, and basic attacks are considered to be the element ‘Infrasound.’ If the user is hit with a critical strike, he/she loses 2 Destruction Charges. If that loss would take the user to 0 or less Destruction Charges, the user then reverts to Serpent Style. [Note: The old Hagemasu style used Pressure Charges instead of Destruction Charges- for continuity, Pressure and Destruction Charges are the same.] Destruction Charges can be used in three ways: Passive ability I: The Hagemasu’s attacks have a 10x% chance to apply a turn of Terrified to the target. (x= number of Destruction Charges) Passive ability II: When the user uses Destruction Charges to pay for Serpent Style’s active effect while attacking, reduce the attack’s stamina cost by 5y%, where y = the number of Destruction Charges not spent. Unspent charges are not consumed this way. Active ability: The Hagemasu may choose to pay 5 Destruction Charges to return the twin to the field after merging. The twin returns without any status effects it had prior, and the same tank stats it had, unless the tank stat was under 50% of its total, which it returns at 50% the twin's total tank stat. The twin will skip its next main phase. Usable once per battle. This deactivates Twin Serpent Style and Celestial Limbs Stance. REQUIREMENTS: -Serpent Style, Celestial Limbs Stance COST: -2 SP -NOTES:-I'm debating between Terrified and Petrified. Terrified costs 30DP, and charges are valued at 40DP on the mainsite. Petrified costs 50DP so I'm unsure if it's usable/will cost more. -Aiming to replace Hagemasu base style with this skill. Terrified: You try to avoid the one who caused you fear or the location that the fear is centered around. If forced to confront the object of fear, you have a -20% to total damage and -20% chance to hit against the target.Max Duration: 3 turnsDP: 30/turn Advanced Taijutsu Style rules: Advanced Taijutsu Rules and Creation Guide A shinobi cannot have more than one Advanced Style activated at a time. Each Advanced Style must have an Advanced System (or something similar, case-by-case) as a requirement for its activation, as well as a 'base' taijutsu style. All charges of the base taijutsu style are converted to the Advanced Style's unique charges upon activation. (For example, Venom Charges -> Tempest Charges.) Whenever a shinobi's required Advanced System would end, so too would their Advanced Style. The user would not lose theirtaijutsu charges, but they will convert back to their base style charges. Advanced Style charges are gained the same way their base taijutsu charges are gained, and would gain Advanced Style charges whenever they would gain base style charges. Advanced Style charges can be used to pay for the appropriate base style techniques, skills, ect. (Tempest Charges can be spent for anything requiring Venom Charges) However, base style charges cannot be used for anything that requires Advanced Style charges. Advanced Taijutsu Styles stack their abilities on top of their base taijutsu style abilities. However, when using charges, the user must pick which of their abilities they wish to use. (For example, the user of Dragonstorm style cannot spend their charges to gain a critical hit chance boost and an evasion boost. They must pick one or the other.) Taijutsu with an Advanced Style tag may only ever be used when you have at least one charge in the Advanced Style. The Advanced Style is considered for all bonus purposes to be the style it is based on. When creating an Advanced Taijutsu style, one should be mindful about the abilities they already receive. If the base style already receives a passive boost for having charges, the Advanced Style should not have a very powerful passive boost on top of that, if any at all. Always copy an Advanced Taijutsu style's base style into their creation topic to allow for a smoother approval process. Serpent Style [base style]: Serpent StyleVenom Charges reward the user bonuses based on the amount of charges that they currently have. If a user is ever struck by a critical hit from an opponent they immediately loose all Venom Charges they have.0 Charges: No bonus.1 Charge: The user gains +4% chance to Critical Strike with all Taijutsu techniques.2 Charges: The user gains +8% chance to Critical Strike with all Taijutsu techniques.3 Charges: The user gains +12% chance to Critical Strike with all Taijutsu techniques.4 Charges: The user gains +16% chance to Critical Strike with all Taijutsu techniques.5 Charges: The user gains +20% chance to Critical Strike with all Taijutsu techniques.Additionally, the user may at any time during their Main Phase spend x Venom Charges to increase the chance of a single attack to critically strike. The amount of charges spent determines the bonus to the technique (see below). If five (5) charges are spent in this way and the user does not successfully hit any targets with the attack they regain all five spent charges. One (1) spent Charge gives +8%, two (2) spent Charges gives +20%, three (3) spent Charges gives +50%, four (4) spent Charges gives +90%, and five (5) spent charges gives +100%. cntrstrk14 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Normally when there is a passive effect for the charges you have there is a "dump chance". Basically, there is some way for you to lose charges so that you can't just get 5 charges and just hold them and forever have the passive bonuses. Sometimes you lose charges on a successful hit with the effect ("Lose two (2) charges when an opponent is successfully terrified"). Other times there is just another outside chance to lose charges outside of the effect. Whatever you choose.
Cloudnine Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) Sounds good! Added loss of 2 charges upon successful Terrified application! EDIT: Actually, I'll make passive loss more similar to Serpent Style. So loss of 2 Destruction Charges if the user is hit with a critical strike? Edited May 12, 2014 by Cloudnine
