cntrstrk14 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Aisuhime | Ice Princess | 氷姫Weapon Type: KatanaSize: MediumLevel: 20Attributes: Razor Edge, Chakra Blade, Ninjutsu Forged, Greater Affliction: [Frozen], UniqueSpecial Abilities: ❅ Influence of the White PrincessAisuhime creates a ring of influence around the intended target, instantly freezing anything within the area in a pillar of energy. As the ring is created it appears as a snow white circle on the ground. It grows in intensity and brightness and then bursts out as a beam of light. The target is suspended in time, frozen in the moment and leaving themselves completely vulnerable to additional attacks.Effect: Once per battle as a Setup Phase action the User may have a Main Phase attack this turn gain the following ability: "The opponent is Vulnerable, Exposed and Stunned for one turn". This is considered a separate strike on the Main Phase attack and may target separately. If the user is Jounin rank or lower this added ability may not break the CP cap of their Main Phase attack. May only be used while equipped.❅ Solitude of the White PrincessThis weapon chooses its wielder, and once it bonds to a master it remains attached to that person until death. Thought it is not sentient, the ancient and mystical laws that govern it have been given a sentient mythology that have lead many to believe the blade to have its own awareness. Any being that comes near it without first being accepted is afflicted by the sword's mysterious powers. Once unsheathed, the battlefield is afflicted with an aura of abnormal frigidness. Those who come in contact with the unsheathed sword will slowly become encased in ice as the blade's mysterious powers encapsulate them.Effect: Every time the an opponent is hit with a strike from Aisuhime or for every phase a character aside the master of Aisuhime wields it, that character gains 1 Ice Counter. For every Ice Counter a character has, the character's speed is reduced by x. If a character has less than or equal to eight (8) Ice Counters x = 2^z. If the character has greater than eight (8) Ice Counters x = 256 * (z - 7). The value of z is the number of Ice Counters. At the start of their Response Phase if a player has any Ice Counters they lose x/5 counters, rounded up. If a player's speed ever reaches zero (0) and the user has no other opponents, the fight ends as a draw. Otherwise they are immune to all damage and effects and may not take any action until their Speed returns above 0. A character may gain no more than four (4) Ice Counters in a single turn. Description: This katana is a long fabled and lost relic of a northern civilizations of the Eastern Islands. This island, set farther north than any other island in the keys, was at one point held as the cradle to a peaceful civilization. As a symbol of this peace and the power of their rulers, the kings of the small island passed a weapon down from generation to generation. It was regarded as the Ice Princess and was treated and protected by the royal family as if it was a princess of the royal line. The fable of the Ice Princess, which this katana is named after, goes as such…"In the realm of Fables, there are those who govern every whisper of the wind, others who calibrate the angle and slice of the wing beats of every insect. They are the dynamic elementals, and they rule the fast and the fleet-all that is enclosed in the blink of an eye. But beneath this frenzied tempo are the slumbering elementals, to whom the centuries pass like April thunderstorms and the death of a civilization is no more than a curiously crimson twilight. The Ice Princess is too preoccupied with the raging rush of the glaciers and the skyward leap of mountains storming heaven to notice the minor fluctuations of organic life. Every now and then she senses something green and flickering which she ascribes to prismatic reflections off her frosted lashes. Then it is gone and forgotten. Locked into the rhythms of the void, locked out of the flash of mortal suffering, she sets her sights on the sliding of the continents, the shifting tilt of the earth's axis and the celestial race towards dissolution.” This katana was lost though as the civilization mysteriously died out. All that is left is the ruins of their once great capitol, which sat as a huge port city within the bay of the island. Researchers suggest that the islands harsh climate shifted, causing many of the people to move from the area because of the bitter coldness. Whatever the reason it is obvious that it was not violent. The city was just empty, no trace of humans anywhere. The katana is thought to be somewhere on that island, though many researchers have tried to find it and failed. It is rumored that the katana is expertly crafted out of the finest steel in the world. The tint of the blade itself is a light blue color, reflecting the light much like snow does. The hilt is artistically crafted, and the hilt is wrapped in a fine fabric, with a blue steel emblem engraved into the hilt itself. The sheathe is a silver-ish blue and has a ring on the side of it for belt attachment and decoration.Quest: Instead of paying the cost of this weapon the user may preform a quest. The quest requires a 40 posts in Northern Islands to find and perform a feat of strength. At the end of the the feat of strength you will roll 1d100. If your roll is above [100-user level] the sword accepts you as its master and you may obtain it. If you roll below the required roll you fail the test and the sword rejects you. You may make a 20 post quest of doing an additional feat to re-roll.Cost: $2,850 Ryo
cntrstrk14 Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Re-submitting this weapon as per the updated Special Ability rules. - Previous version may be found here. - Removed Blade of White Steel - Combined Aura of White Princess and Solitude of Snow into a single, cleaner, ability. - Removed the notion of others who could be accepted by the blade aside the master. While fun RP, it almost never came up. - Using a new Quest + Cost setup for Legendary Weapons like this that I want to become a standard. This weapon has never been priced before, so let's give it one now. $2,500 is a complete shot in the dark.
wolfnin Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 .:Influence of the White Princess When you say main phase attack, does it mean attacks done by this weapon or any technique or attack used during the main phase? .:Solitude of the White Princess I like this ability. but I feel as if this is a bit too strong in it's current form. Is this ability cumulative or non-cumulative? 1 Counter = -2 2 counters = -4 3 counters = -8 .... 8 counters = -256 9 counters = -512 10 counters = -768 11 counters = -1024 Assuming it's cumulative, using 4 strikes per turn, and with all hitting, you can essentially in three turns reduce a target's speed by around 1000 permenantly for the remainder of the battle. Since you'd only have to apply one counter per turn so that way you would have no loss of counters. In addition, the target inflicted would have no way of being able to remove the effects unless with a specific item or technique. Again, while I do enjoy the flavor and the mechanics of this ability, I think this should have a maximum duration per application, more charges loss per turn, or perhaps the speed loss scaled down a bit.
cntrstrk14 Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Influence: Any attack, so long as the additional effect would not break the CP cap. Solitude: The opponent loses one Ice Counter every turn at the beginning of their Response Phase. So if I hit a person with 12 strikes of the weapon they would have 10 Counters since one had fallen off each turn and I could only apply 4 per turn. I don't think that having each counter have a turn duration is feasible as you would need to keep track of each counter individually which becomes a headache quick. I could see Ice Counters falling off more rapidly based on how many you have. Such as two counters falling off per turn if you are at 8+, etc. That said, the given example is also a perfect scenario. If I am in the situation where I can hit a player with every single one of my weapon attacks three turns in a row, they are probably dead anyways.
Cellar Door Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) 250 Razor Edge50 Unique50 Chakra Blade400 GA [Frozen]For Influence I would use "Equipped" as the nomenclature instead of "Drawn".I'd put the cost on that one at 800-ish, because it can decide your fate in one turn.If the other one hasn't changed it's still approved. In fact, it's less powerful now with the changes to clones and such. As long as you can keep more than 1 combatant on the field he's got to juggle the strikes, and he can't draw out unless he freezes everyone, and to do that, he'll have to stop freezing you, and you'll return to the field after a charge runs out. Interesting counter-play there.Another 1000.2550 Edited October 14, 2015 by Cellar Door
cntrstrk14 Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 Edited the word, updated the pricing and added Ninjutsu Forged to this. I have Honing on my current one that I paid for, so this will just replace that. EDIT: Updated the wording on the CP restriction for the first ability.
wolfnin Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Thought about the second ability for a while, did some scenario running, overall conclusion: I'm okay with it. Price suggestions are reasonable and first ability is fine with me. APP'D
Hardcore Skittlez Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 I... do not like the second ability at all. It is an "infinitely" stacking stat reduction with no cost and no actual counterplay. You automatically gain a counter each turn, and only lose one each turn, so... that kind of balances itself out and makes it so that the loss mechanic isn't really a loss mechanic. This definitely either needs some kind of upkeep or some very attainable counter-play options. I'm leaning toward an upkeep of like... 20x, where X is equal to the number of ice counters. I'm open to alternative ideas you have here, but the strength of this ability is just absurd right now.
cntrstrk14 Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 I think you misread the ability. You do not automaticall gain a counter each turn, you lose one each turn automatically.
cntrstrk14 Posted February 17, 2017 Author Posted February 17, 2017 Moved back. Updated 'Influence of the White Princess' to use 'Exposed' instead of 'Disorganized'. I left 'Greater Affliction' on here because I already adjusted that here.
Pwnzie Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Approved (Assuming no other staff think the cost needs updating from the status effect changing from disorganized to exposed. [Im blanking the CP cost of disorganized pre removal]
Peregine Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 It's a 10CP difference, 30 to 40. Not worth the change, imo. Approved.
wolfnin Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Greater Affliction and Razor Edge don't exist anymore, so that should be changed to their respective current abilities.
