Kusagakure no Sato's Godai Clan

History: Kaibyaku knew he was different. He could feel the strength of his heart with every beat. He was born with a large heart; a powerful heart. Not only that, he was unique. One in a million. He was more than a genius, he was a legend. He was only eight when he graduated from the academy at Kirigakure, back in the times when to do so was to kill all rivals. He quickly advanced to the rank of Jounin, and was revered by his fellow shinobi as one of the greatest ninja of his time.

But it wasn't to last. Kaibyaku lusted for power, but he hit a roadblock. He had soared and soared, but he couldn't seem to progress in skill. He needed something more. He pushed his family away in his brooding rage and frequently took trips out of Kiri, frustrated with his apparent inability to progress. On a particular sleepless night he took a fall and sliced open the palm of his hand. As the blood flowed, revelation struck. What is blood but polluted water?

So began his "corruption". It started with small jutsu practiced in secret, manipulating his blood into needles and small blades. His skin grew pale and he became weaker, but he managed. His large heart allowed for that, though he began to fade as the "legend" he had once been. His other abilities faded with it as his jutsu became his life. His oldest boy, just graduated from the academy, desired to become like his father. Though Kaibyaku's obsession with his blood jutsu pushed his family away from his mind, he decided he would pass his creations along to future generations.

Luckily, he passed along the right genes to his son. His son was also born with a strong heart, nearly as strong as his father's. Oddly enough, his son's affinity was towards the blood jutsu and he had almost no skill with any other jutsu. He couldn't handle elemental jutsu, but he could mould void chakra excellently.

Kaibyaku grew older by the day. His body began to degenerate with every use of his blood jutsu. By the time he was 45, he appeared to be almost 60. He died at the young age of 51, and his son took over his work. Kaibyaku's grandson turned out to be more like his grandfather than the boy's father. His heart beat strong in his chest and his chakra was strong and bountiful. He learned everything his father could teach him and expanded upon it. The prodigy made each of the jutsu more effective and less costly on the body.

His Gennin test doomed his family. He decimated his opponents easily with the cursed blood jutsu. Nothing withstood him. In his wake was massacre. The elders were horrified and the upcoming Shuurajou could tell. Disgraced, they fled to seek a new home, fearing that they would be executed if they remained in Kirigakure. Rejected everywhere they travelled, they looked towards the peaceful Country of Grass, which they were sure would leave them be. They set up their home on the outskirts of Kusagakure, without the permission of the village. A few weeks later, after having already settled into their new home, the Harakage sent a small team of shinobi to investigate. Having been caught unawares, father and son captured and interrogated the small group believing it to be a search-and-destroy mission against their family. Afterwards the family made a truce with Kusagakure, in which the village would leave them be, if the family were to supply at least one shinobi to the village every generation.

And so, the Shuurajou clan was formed. The genetics for blood jutsu were passed on through the generations, and eventually the bodies of the clan members adapted to make the techniques more effective and less deadly to themselves. The tainted jutsu were overlooked by Kusagakure over the years, preferring to avoid trouble with the growing clan of deadly shinobi.

At least a few times a year, shinobi or small group of shinobi from Kirigakure would attempt to destroy the Shuurajou. If they sought revenge for dead relatives or if they were sent by the Kage mattered little. Each was killed in the end, even if they did manage to take out one or two of the clan members. No doubt the only reason that Kirigakure did not simply send a small force of Jounin to wipe out the clan was due to fear of invoking the wrath of another hidden village. The Shuurajou survived, and began to thrive as ninja of Kusagakure.

Clan Personality and Upbringing: The Shuurajou clan silently and endlessly seeks to make itself more powerful in order to avenge the "wrongs” done to it by Kirigakure no Sato. While Kusagakure fears the clan and wouldn't mind its sudden disappearance, the shinobi have proven themselves to be a valuable asset time and time again. Clan members are unbreakable and deadly. They care little for themselves and have no fear of death. As children they are taken from their family within the clan. Their life is hard and the weak are weeded out. Training begins at the young age of five, when the shinobi-to-be begin to learn the ways of blood jutsu. They are forced to fight each other on a regular basis, especially their own siblings. They are taught that the only thing that matters in life is their bond to their clan and to each other. By the time a Shuurajou clan mate is old enough to join the Kusagakure academy, they had been forced to grow up so quickly that they generally advance out of the academy by the time they are nine years old. Every member takes their upbringing differently, but generally it hardens them to emotion and gifts them with an aggravating arrogance, whether they show it or not.

Physical: The appearance of Shuurajou clan members have changed along with their adaptations. Clan members can be distinguished by their maroon eyes, and their light gray or white hair. Generally, clan members are born with dark gray hair that quickly lightens as they age until it is white. The clan symbol is tattooed somewhere on their bodies, generally on the back of the hand, between the shoulder blades, or on a shoulder, but it's up to the clan member where it is tattooed. For some reason, the bodies of the clan members also age more quickly. An eight-year-old's body could resemble that of an eleven-year old. Clan members age so quickly that their bodies begin to die off at an early age instead of later on in life, and it is exceptionally rare for one to see 80. Luckily, this aging is not spectacularly fast, and one only appears perhaps a few years older than their actual age.

Government: The Shuurajou clan council is really just one man or woman, which in this case is the infamous Shuurajou Kei. She holds the final authority within the council, which is made up of three members. Two of the three are the oldest members of the clan. One is the oldest shinobi, and one is the oldest civilian. The head of the clan is the most accomplished member, regardless of age. Kei herself is only 27 years of age. This council is responsible for deciding the actions of the entire clan, and has the full confidence of every clan member.

Kaibyaku knew he was different. He could feel the strength of his heart with every beat. He was born with a large heart; a powerful heart. Not only that, he was unique. One in a million. With that sentence in your sheet, you need to edit the clan's age. It's been 110 years from the start of the series, so we can safely say that 120 to 130 would be the Maximum age that this clan could have considering your little origin bit.

The Yondaime Mizukage, Yagura; was the one who instituted and utilized the 'Bloody Mist' tactics in the force that was used. Before that and after him; these were not used.

[After the clan's age is fixed to fit better with NA Canon.]

Also, change the 'Being Banished' to simply leaving in fear. Bloodline culls, though not truly within the era which Kaibyaku's grandson would've lived in, were not a long off memory. Slaying an entire graduating class of Gennin within Kiri after the abolishing of the practice, and with 'blood techniques'; would unabashedly be cause for at least the -thought- to have come by some radicals within Kiri to cull the Shuurajou or whatever they called themselves at the time. To preempt this, they fled to Kusa. Fled being the operative words, because even if they were able to calm the radicals who wanted revenge for the deaths of their children/cousins/whatever, they'd not want a bloodline as powerful as you've described the potential to be leaving the village.

Clans don't get to uproot themselves in the modern era or anything beyond the 'ancient founding of the villages' era, without hunter-nin coming acalling.

*rubs temples* And I apologize if this seems like I'm being hard on you. I'm not trying to do so or seem irritated at you, I like the clan and the concept. However; I don't want to sacrifice 'logic' over the matter. Regardless of which Mizukage was in power during Kaibyaku's grandson's era, they'd not have had the power to 'exile and pardon' the family without having people trying to coup them and ignore their order.

As soon as these issues are dealt with, PM me or just post such, and I'll give you your second stamp. [second because you're not fundamentally changing a thing that Azure approved, just fixing a few things]

The 110 years is acceptable assuming that the clan's 'forming' was not at Kaibyaku's birth, but rather when he fathered a child. That said; lol@ the idea of 'wrongs done by Kirigakure' when they fled on their own [as would be logical for someone born in raised in Kirigakure].

Ceadaithe.
