Matthias Drake Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Name: Plant Type; Grand Forest Type: Ninjutsu (Plant) Rank: Jounin (extremely rare jutsu) Cost: 650 Effect: Creates one (1) forest or other wildland (hereafter referred to as 'forest'), complete with pollenating fauna. The forest finishes growing in about twenty minutes, starting with the trees moving out from the origin, then the plants, and then the fauna. At the point of origin, it finishes in around one minute. This is a highly draining jutsu, and, if not extremely useful, it is at least very, very beautiful to see. The creator of this forest is permitted to use a Plant-type jutsu once per three turns for free as long as in the bounds of this forest. Description: One of the most beautiful (and taxing) of the Plant-type jutsu, if not terribly useful. It immediately creates a vast and dense forest around the user, containing all manner of trees and every plant you could conceive of living in the local environment. The boundaries of the forest are defined by the user, but on average the area of the forest is equivalent to a circle around the origin with radius three miles. The forest is supplied with pollenating wildlife (bees, butterflies, hummingbirds) by means of this technique, but further wildlife is not supplied. Of course, this jutsu only works in places where the materials for a forest are to hand; it wouldn't work on mountains, or beaches, or deserts... Less commonly, the jutsu is used to create other biomes, such as plains or swamps, but this is less common because it is not as impressive. While the forest is created by this jutsu in full bloom, it requires water or it will wilt rather quickly; this jutsu does not make any more than is contained in the forest itself. Points: 8
Guest MrSako Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 This is Mokuton Jutsu (Wood Jutsu) which should be a bloodline level ability, right?
Matthias Drake Posted July 30, 2006 Author Posted July 30, 2006 No, it's a Kusa jutsu. Because, you know, that's what their element is. Plants.
Terrick Sukrai Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Man I am SO looking forward to becoming a jounin!
Matthias Drake Posted July 30, 2006 Author Posted July 30, 2006 You can get it at Chuunin for double points =)
Terrick Sukrai Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 true... though that'll cost me an arm and a leg... 10 jutsu slots... gah!
Takius Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Is it possible for this to be cancelled out by any fire techniques? Does it give the terrain effects for forest/whatever?
Nappers Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 The cost of creating a forest even at Jounin level would be much more than 650 Chakra. And I say that its Mokuton Jutsu with a different name; bloodline technique.
Matthias Drake Posted July 30, 2006 Author Posted July 30, 2006 It's just a Kusa-type jutsu >_> 650 chakra is the highest chakra cost of any jutsu hich is not sealing or forbidden (and more than 3/4 of the site's Sealing jutsu for that matter). Recall that wossname, the new Jounin, just created a plateau, a small forest (I would call it a 'wood') and a waterfall with no sign of fatigue oor tiredness.
Nappers Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 (edited) Yamato, the point of reference, has the Mokuton bloodline; genome child and all. Edited July 30, 2006 by Nappers
Matthias Drake Posted July 30, 2006 Author Posted July 30, 2006 Umm... The fact that he and the First Hokage could use Mokuton ninjutsu was a genetic coincidence (The Second Hokage was the first one's brother, and didn't have Mokuton ninjutsu) and not a bloodline. The whole point of Kusa jutsu is that they are Mokuton ninjutsu. It's not a bloodline at all. Now, you could certainly say Yamato had an easier time of it because those are his inherent chakra types... But nonetheless, I offer that while he had an easier time of it, it was still a huge change in the world; if we assume him to be twice as god at this as soemone simply trained in Mokuton ninjutsu, then they could still make something half as big with no noticeable effort, and something much larger (such as this size) with a very large effort such as this one. I guess this will stay on hold until we finish talking out combinatorial elements in Admin.
Guest Tao Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 650 chakra is just too low for this jutsu , and you would need a monsterous upkeep to keep he forrest alive soley on your chakra..
Tantan Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Hmm. Upkeep? I dont know, after the initial chakra, and the forest is grown, the matter is there, why would one have to keep pumping chakra into it?
Matthias Drake Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 The forest stays alive exactly the same way every other forest stays alive. So, as Tantan said, upkeep makes no sense... And, again, this is more expensive than all but three site tecniques, and those are forbidden jutsu. For example, the third Hokage does a forest covering a cathedral-sized building almost effortlessly; At the expense of a great amount of chakra (which 650 is) it seems logical to be able to create something much bigger. And the Hokage was growing the forest out of solid stone; this jutsu only works in a place where you already have everything required for a forest.
Arashi Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I think the cost is reasonable, but the JP is way too low. 25 sounds more like for a jutsu that costs 650 chakra.
Matthias Drake Posted August 1, 2006 Author Posted August 1, 2006 That would make it more expensive than the Death pact, Five Part Seal, and Deal Soul Skill combined. Or as expensive anyway. I'd be willing to raise it to as many as, say, 8 JP, putting it on par with Evil Sealing Method.
Ravage Nocturne Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I don't think that would be necessary, ignoring the other arguments. It should only be like, 6 JP maximum, since it only makes the forest. Although I see a lot of unique battle potential for this (teehee) I think overall, it's useless on it's own, and therefore shouldn't even cost as much as you suggested. Maybe at maximum 500 Chakra. At any rate, the JP should NOT be that high, for sure. Since it does no damage, you could reason it down to like, 4 JP, especially since it's Jounin level. But, seeing that extra little 'free jutsu' thing, maybe 650 Chakra is fine. But still, goodness, 6 JP maximum.
Matthias Drake Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 I would like a second approval on this one because it is a hella sexy jutsu~
