Matthias Drake Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) The Nameless Blade Weapon Kind: Rapier Weapon Size: Medium Level: 30 Special: All-Cutter: Both of the cutting edges of The Nameless Blade are keen almost beyond imagining, and certainly beyond what one is likely to have ever seen. It could slice cleanly through marble, carve the electrons off an atom, or cut steel like butter. -This sword ignores armor when calculating damage. Starforged: This blade is forged of near-primordial steel, direct from the heart of a star, and it is by the heat of that star's heart that it was forged. It is a pure, and bright-burning thing, and it desires to be wielded by none without the touch of the stars as well. -If anyone without the skill “Starheart” tries to wield this sword, he or she is Burned for the first turn and takes 50 damage every turn he or she continues to wield it. Brightblade: The Nameless Blade is often referred to as burning brightly, and with excellent reason – in battle, it literally shines with a brilliant radiance, which is difficult to look at. This radiance is not exactly constant, but rather corresponds to the moods and intentions of the wielder – it is usually a calm, cool, clear light, like moonlight, but when it is wielded in battle, or to cut anything, then it is the burning radiance with sears through its enemies. -This sword deals Light damage equal to its normal, unmodified damage. Furthermore, whenever it is drawn, the field is excellently illuminated, and the wielder gains +10% to dodge. Whenever you upgrade this weapon's level, pay as if you were upgrading a large weapon instead of a medium weapon. Attribute: - Indestructible - Unique - Ninjutsu Sharpening - Sharpened Edge - Razor Edge - Parry [Rank 2] - Defend [Rank 2] - Greater Affliction: [burned(1)] Description: - The Nameless Blade is a rapier of absolutely superb, and perhaps even peerless, quality. Ironically, the only correct name for it is 'The Nameless Blade' – but it has many titles. Starforged, Brightblade, All-Cutter, The Blade of Uttermost Radiance... Many of its powers derive from its unusual composition and forging: It is made of ur-metal taken from the heart of a star, and it was forged by the heat of that same star. The sword remembers the burning, remembers the light, and has taken a little of that burning radiance along with it. But there are others, and no doubt there will be more. The Nameless Blade is entirely of one piece of metal, from the tip of the blade to the end of the hilt. It has a sweeping, elegant, and rather elaborate wire guard. There is a single large diamond in the pommel, perfectly clear and strikingly beautiful. The hilt is wrapped in white leather. The Nameless Blade can only be sheathed in The Nameless Sheath. shizuki Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Ignores armor = too much now. Also, I don't think you can do full chain opening against a weapon. Too easy to abuse.
Maelstrom Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I absolutely love this sword, but I think it should have a quest requirement. Not only would it make more sense when obtaining the sword, but it should drop the price quite a bit.
Matthias Drake Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 Ignores armor = too much now. Also, I don't think you can do full chain opening against a weapon. Too easy to abuse. cntr okayed it provided the base damage is <= 60 (chuunin damage cap for tai). Which is why it's level 30 and not higher. I absolutely love this sword, but I think it should have a quest requirement. Not only would it make more sense when obtaining the sword, but it should drop the price quite a bit. My character is actually making this himself. But with more confusing time tenses. Also, I'm going to be removing the "Devourer" attribute and making the sheath as a separate item with (more or less) that attribute. Should be done by the time you read this.
shizuki Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Did he specifically okay it for this weapon, or did he approve it in general? If for this weapon, what about upgrading? Still against Full Chain Opening on this.
Matthias Drake Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 He didn't say if it was specific or not. I'll just inflict Burned, then, since it bothers you. Sheath is here: http://ninja-academy-online.invisionzone.c...showtopic=21730
shizuki Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Is mod damage dealt with this treated as light, or normal?
Matthias Drake Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 I hadn't thought of that. I suppose Light would make more sense, though, so I'll go with that if you've no objection.
Kouta Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Just for clarification..what is the advantage of using light?
Matthias Drake Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 (edited) For the mod damage? I don't know, really. Edited September 15, 2007 by Matthias Drake
Kouta Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 If we can agree that the only change would be how the mod damage is roleplayed, then I'll also approve at cntr's price. When you post to agree to my statement, move it yerself, if you would.
