Rei Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 (edited) Name: Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Rashomon (Summoning Technique: Rashomon)Type: Ninjutsu (Personal, Summoning) Rank: Forbidden Cost: 500 per wall (maximum of 3) Effect: Used in the Response Phase, even if character normally is not allowed to take any action. Summons a wall that absorbs 1000 Damage + User's Ninjutsu Modifier. If the damage is reduced to 0, user does not suffer any Status Effects. User may take action in their Main Phase. Up to 3 walls may be used per battle. Description: The Rashomon was formerly the grandest of the two city gates of the Japanese city of Kyoto during the Heian period. Built in 789, it was 106 feet wide by 26 feet high, with a 75-foot stone wall and topped by a ridge-pole. The gate was located at the southern end of Suzaku Avenue. By the 12th century it had fallen into disrepair and became an unsavory place, with a reputation as a hideout for thieves and other disreputable characters. People would abandon corpses and unwanted babies at the gate. Over time, the gate took on the demonic characteristics of the inhabitants and became a living entity. It is unclear how Orochimaru was able to exert control over such a powerful entitiy, but the tattered records have been passed down, recently 'discovered' by Uchiha Haruki, who received it from Uchiha Madara. One unique aspect of this Jutsu is that it can be 'cast' in succession, as was demonstrated by Orochimaru who had to use the Triple Rashomon in order to protect himself against the devestating attack by the Four-tailed Kyuubi Naruto. Eechi-go Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Main Phrase should be skipped, for two reasons; 1: One wall alone prevents 1000 damage, then include any modifiers, your basically avoiding anything that comes at you. Now, the opponent is likely to be very crippled after such an attack, and following up on them after you most likely maxed out a majority of their chakra isn't fair, even at Forbidden. 2: If you remember, a single wall alone is massive, and it would take much too long to be able to run around the thing and strike before the opponent follows up. I'd also like the cost to be raised to -atleast- 800 per wall.
Khaos Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Could you post the original, for reference purposes
Rei Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 Eechi's suggests aside, the only difference between Rashomon now the ‘original' was personal tag under the type. We prohibit personal Canon Jutsu, hence me reposting most of Sako's canon creations. Nevertheless, I will humor you and provide a link.
cntrstrk14 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I am assuming that multiple walls will invoke the multi attack rules and divide the ninjutsu modifier, right?
Rei Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 I am assuming that multiple walls will invoke the multi attack rules and divide the ninjutsu modifier, right? Being forbidden does not change the rules, boss.
cntrstrk14 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Honestly, I think the cost is too high for a forbidden jutsu. I would actually lower it back down to 500, or maybe just 600 per wall. Does this take into account your defensive mod or just the incoming jutsu + the opponent's offensive mod?
Rei Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 You would only consider your defenses if the wall(s) is (are) penetrated and deal five or more (base) damage.
Azure Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Approved. As is. If it's lowered, it can always just be looked over again.
