Black Swordsman Style; Pressure Density (Kuroikenkyaku; Atsuryoku Noukou)

Type: Ninjutsu [Void] (Personal; Alchem Syaoran)

Rank: Sennin

Cost: 400 Chakra

Damage: n/a

Effects: All opponents are Terrified of the user for 2 turns, and afraid for 2 turns following. May be used on the first turn in battle. Does not affect the opponent if they have a Ninjutsu stat that is higher than or equal to the user. Only affects opponents ten levels or lower than the user, and may only be used on the first turn.

Description: By exerting his chakra, Syaoran makes his opponent's physically feel the weight of his presence. Their bodies become heavier and they can feel the power that seeps out of him, instilling a fear for their own lives. His war time alias as the black swordsman precedes him, and all those that have heard of him have an even greater fear. This concept, though simple, is a powerful tool when used in the right way. Sapping away at the confidence of your opponent. The most common occurrence of this fear can be seen in Genin when they are confronted in the presence of a higher ranked ninja within battle.

I don't understand this. I mean I'm not really pro that rule bend as this is ultimately an offensive action in the first turn of battle, though I understand that that is the whole idea.

I particularly don't understand why a Ninja of equal or slightly lower rank, particularly one who might never had heard of this guy, would feel these effects, especially how the technique goes on to refer it's mainly a stronger affect on those of significantly lower rank or experience.

Though ultimately I can't really agree with the idea of an offensive action on the first turn.

Post and turn can be used inter chanagable, though really turn should be used :\

The idea behind it is that the user causes their Chakra control the flex outwards in a show of strength. If you have ever seen bleach, one of the characters has a similiar ability in which just being nearby him makes those that do not have equal power as his to feel the weight of his abilities. I can throw in another restriction that says if they are of a lower level as well since that makes sense.

As for 'attacking' on the first turn, the reason you cannot attack on the first turn is because it is simulating what you would be doing outside of battle to prepare for entering it. This type of effect is something that the user would be inflicting before the battle as their mere presence and expulsion of chakra is what creates it. Also, it deals no damage. I don't think damage dealing attacks should ever me allowed first turn, but something like this should be able to slip through every so often. (As long as it isn't like, vulnerable/stunned/etc.)

Hm.

Well I still think it should be rank to rank not based on level. I can't imagine in a Kage v Kage clash they'd be so easily intimidated, though nor do I see highly experienced Jounin though that's aside the point.

The fact that it is not a damage dealing technique or damage dealing status effects, of course, the effects do have considerable affect in the battle- being the whole point.

But I'm worried also about the floodgates in what other type of 'non offensive' yet status affect orientated techniques that one can attack others with on the first turn on battle.

Though as a point the tech might even be more acceptable if it was a 'one shot', as in that it 'may only be used on the first turn' rather than throughout also.

Changed it to be if they are 10+ levels below the user. Rank is way to wide of a range to base it on, as a level 50 Jounin is way different froma level 100 Jounin, etc.

Also, first turn only.

Lowered the cost some because of the limitations placed on it.

For real. I think I can live with this as it is now. Though still wary of copycat techs that could flow on. Keep an eye out.

Acceptable.
