Khaos Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 She's a friend of Oto Nidori stepped foraward, continuing past the grass kunoichi, his steps were noticably sluggish as his whole body hadn't healed in full; he held his head up slightly as to display his own Oto hitai-ate to the man at the door. He looked back towards Brash, as if to say "what were you expecting? us to die?" "What do you make of this?", gesturing appropriately and near unsubtley as he done so. Before getting a response from Brash, Nidori swivelled back round to the man with an inquisitive look upon his face Where exactly were you, five minutes ago?
Cloudnine Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Korin remained at the doorway even after Nidori stepped past her. She didn't say anything, sensitive side slightly recoiling from the Oto-nin's abrasive tone. Of course she'd expect them to be on edge, but it was one thing all the chakra-based barriers in her arsenal could not stop. Whereas Nidori, despite his exhaustion, raised his head to display the emblem of Oto, the girl shied, dipping her gaze low to the ground to keep an uneven glare off her tarnished headband. She took to the other side of the door from Nidori to avoid blocking anyone's view.
cntrstrk14 Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 "We were in the tower, fighting off a siege of ninja disguised as crows. Where have you been? We searched the entire village and couldn't find a single person. But this Oto... this one feel right.", the man said as he looked towards the villagers behind him, and then his eyes went towards the sky and his look hardened. Brash would give a recognizing nod towards the man and Nidori, before looking up himself at the ever amassing crows above. The problem was, as he looked up, some of the crows were already diving towards the crowd. The man next to Nidori would pull out a wooden container and slide a pill out of it and into his mouth. Flipping two out and holding them towards Nidori and Korin he would nod for them to take it. "Take these soldier pills, you two look exhausted and the assault is already starting.", as he would finish a set of two four man teams would break out of the doorway past the three and towards the civilians, intercepting the crows as they would near the ground, shape shifting into a ninja wrapped in gray clothing. Dozens of the ninja would fall from the sky, and many more crows still stood in the sky. Brash and L would move into the fight as well, Brash seeming to slip a pill from a similar container before breaking into the fight. Any large area attacks would be to reckless as the civilians scattered through the street, they would have to weed them out one by one. L would be seen connecting a swift roundhouse kick to one of the ninja, yet instead of them falling to the ground their body would burst, replaced by black and gray feathers that would be swept into the streets by the wind. ooc: 200 words per ninja to fight them off and knock them out. Cloudnine Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Upon the mention of crows, the girl turned her gaze outside. The numerous crows in the sky grew restless, stirring from their passive miasma to boldly swoop downwards. Once every crow was eliminated, would it be the liberation of Otogakure? The fight was long, taxing; she didn't expect such a lengthy task where her already strained reserves were pushed further than they ever have. True, she hadn't rested since the fall of the NCIA in Fang, but the girl knew she shouldn't be feeling so… listless. A grave feeling swept over the true Oto as more crows descended. The shinobi instantly rushed through the doorway, the hasty breeze in their wake aggravating the chilled goose bumps on Korin's skin. Her attention had been directed back again, eyeing the pill the man offered with a subtle distaste. Brushing her gloves off on her thighs, the girl accepted the pill, stepping away with the urging of the afterwind to aid the shinobi already engaged with their strange enemy. Korin swallowed with disdain to free her two hands to handseals, fluidly sending a twisting spire of earth to catch a morphing crow. Through a flurry of black feathers, the newly formed limbs of a man vanished. One down… Words: 203 Crow 1 Roll: 8 -- Feeling the first burst of energy as her body absorbed the pill, Korin ran closer to the crowd and confusion. The jagged point of her previous jutsu already crumbled back into dust and soil. She already lost sight of L, Brash, and Nidori as she circled the scene, watching for injured and falling crows. [she'd determined that their most vulnerable point was their airborne descent...] Dodging and darting away from assaults, Korin disappeared through the din in hopes of regaining just a little more before squandering it. She pulled out a pair of kunai from the straps of her boots as she ran. Still not under the full effects of the soldier pill, Korin counted the seconds until she retained enough chakra to summon… too long. A fleeter crow shinobi tailed her as she wound about the Kyoukage's tower. With the efficiency of a novice, Korin turned and flung the two kunai. Caught off guard as he rounded the corner in pursuit, the two blades slammed into the gray form. The girl knelt, unmoving. Black shapes were descending on her fast and her body moved with the same haste, taking what she'd regained of the chakra and pushing it into her hands. Words: 202 Crow: 2 Roll: 7 -- She nipped her thumb, heedlessly letting the blood trickle, flicking it to dot the ground. Did she forget how to summon? Raz had always been there to help her, and the few attempts the girl had made at it hardly etched the technique into the concrete memory of her brain. Seals passed before her eyes, and with the final sign, Korin pressed her palms onto the ground. The ground quaked and smoke billowed from cracks into the dimension. The girl sensed she was failing- the summon was slipping away as she tried to drag it through worlds with such little chakra. Morphing shadows of crows to men appeared overhead. Forcing chakra gates open to siphon every last reserve while the soldier pill [hopefully] replenished, the ground shook until it was audible. And as the gray shinobi leapt into the pillars of smoke, they were blown away just as quickly. Korin and a bolt of red leapt away, landing in a resonant slam. Level 4… the girl guessed, judging the toad's size. Gamakuzu stood katana in hand, slightly smaller than the girth of the Kyoukage's tower. "The gray ones! Get the gray ones!” She shouted over the noises, clinging on for dear life as the toad leapt forwards to deftly cleave at a charging attacker. Black feathers again. Words: 217 Crow: 3 Roll: 5 -- The two were soon swamped by gray clothed shinobi who'd just given up their avian forms. Gamakuzu would knock back a wave of attackers with his sword, and then another with their tongue, but the force wasn't enough to send up another plume of feathers. Korin's illusions [as she'd found out] did little in warding off the crows. She could send them fleeing in fear for a few seconds only to bring back more gray-hued vermin, or put them in a sleepy trance where, while immobilized and vulnerable, would wake up to the clamor moments later. Keeping this summon alive was the only thing she could do… which she would once he sustained damage to his amphibious hide. Korin couldn't help the bruises left by bare fists, and Gamakuzu had been vigilant in keeping those armed individuals out of range. Korin kicked away hands that tried to grab her feet in panic, scrambling for higher ground atop the large toad's head. "Mind helping eventually?” the summon gruffly bellowed, seeing the fight as a stalemate where his energy was slipping. The girl remained silent, slipping the cracked hunter-nin mask over her face as a precaution against any of those below moving on to throwing things. Words: 204 Crow: 4 Roll: 10 -- As she looked through the two hazy eyeholes of the mouse mask, Korin could feel the splintery fuzz of the splintered wood against her cheeks. The rest of her NCIA issued armor were in similar degenerating conditions- torn, shredded, dented, tarnished, and bloodstained over all. Her jounin vest of Kiri fared no better. As much as she wished to aid Gamakuzu's efforts, Korin was hardly in her element. She hadn't trained for the front lines of battle since her Chuunin period, and even then her experience was negligent. [support, defense, and escape was her holy trinity.] Channeling her later affinity for wind, Korin defended Gamakuzu's flank. A blast of cutting wind sent up a flurry of feathers while sending three others sprawling. Chakra was flowing again; a green glow engulfed her fingers and she pressed her palms onto the clammy and gnarled skin of Gamakuzu. She watched with grim relief as the jagged wounds on his side sealed in dark scars. "G-gamakuzu, we're outnumbered here! You can't fight them like this…” The toad merely grunted in response. "Leap to the other side and we can pick them off as they come.” She gave the sign as a pulse of genjutsu that sent the ranks fearfully fleeing in the other direction. Words: 210 Crow: 5 Roll: 7 -- The queasy feeling already coiled in her stomach as the toad's muscles readied for a leap. Airborne, Gamakuzu had brought the hefty katana before his face to fend off the crows that flocked, shrieking in the air. Korin felt wings, talons, and beaks drawing trickles of blood on her arms and legs. It hardly ended when they crashed onto the ground again, crow and man indifferent. The toad summon made a successful lunge at the first attacker, its feathers mingling with those already tainting the air. The girl could feel the summon faltering. Shrouds of black feathers were everywhere, ubiquitous, flooding into Gamakuzu's massive mouth every time he heaved a labored breath. Korin did all she could to keep him fortified- sealing wounds and blowing away the crow shinobi charging from the toad's rear. Yet all the wounds she healed reopened aside new ones and the mobs of gray quickly overwhelmed the duo once again. All the while the toad's muscles strained further, breath grew shorter. "Dammit, girl!” Gamakuzu shouted as his last before his exhausted form teetered downwards to the waves and waves of nameless shinobi. Korin found only a fleeting sanctuary in the midst of the gray smoke of Gamakuzu's departure. Words: 203 Crow: 6 Roll: 10 -- She crawled to her feet after the fall. Smoke and feathers obstructed her vision, and in this pause, Korin gathered lighting between her hands, letting it churn and grow volatile. The roar of battle was crushing, formidable. She stood still as the static charged, calm as the eye of the storm as she cradled her final assault. There was nothing to be done after this- like Gamakuzu, it was inevitable that she'd cave in to the sheer numbers of shinobi alone. She rapidly slammed the ball of lightning into the chest of the first attacker who saw through the confusion, filling the air with singed and ashy feathers. Her next three assaults followed suite until her hands were raw and empty. No more feathers appeared though- the other gray clad shinobi simply doubled over and recovered. Their blows were merciless as Korin balled up to form a last line of hand seals, fingers aching as they tried to stomp the sequence out. Another rush of chakra followed by walls of sand erupting at her feet was enough to knock those nearby away. It encased her, a sphere of solid sand- immobile, impervious. In it, Korin would nurse her wounds and wait until the attackers cracked open her last defense and drag her back into the fray. Have I done enough? Words: 220 Crow: 7 Roll: 1
Khaos Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 (edited) ((Sorry, took a little time)) As the shinobi spoke from within the tower, Nidori was hit with the overbearing feeling that things were going to pick up; the fact that they had appeared from nowhere so close to everyone else had to be of some significance, though the reasoning of the universe couldn’t be figured through assumption alone. As the man finished what he had to say, his gaze indicated the answer. Nidori swivelled his hips, coming to a stop as he’d turned a near 180° to see what the man had reacted to; the ebony cloud seemed to be enabling its purpose. It appeared that Brash had also noticed the disturbance as he gestured towards those who had made eye contact with him. Turning back frontwards to address the man, Nidori was met with the silent proposal of taking a soldier pill. About to accept the offer, Nidori checked the skies again; anxiety maybe; in any case, ha he not he may have been impaled by a crow’s beak as one darted towards him. He side stepped; a pseudo leap of faith as he didn’t really have the balance to keep on his feet, barging into the side of the door frame; it appeared that crow was hell bent on impaling the sound-nin and so lay crumpled on the floor. 1 down ~~~ Nidori came off the door frame with a look of shock across his face; he looked down at the remains of the crow and then looked back up at the man still holding the pill for him. The shock quickly faded as he near enough snatched the soldier pill from the man, nodding to him in thanks as he done so; I guess I may be more worse for wear than I feel if he thinks I need this at a glance.... He slotted the lozenge into his mouth, biting into it once before swallowing; figuring it would take affect quicker that way. He stepped forward, his leg still a bit heavy; ...I guess he was right though. Pushing himself forward followed by a slight stumble, Nidori looked toward the enemy infested sky in anticipation of another assault. At the same time he could already feel the pill taking affect. It seemed as though Korin’s jutsu, while potent, had localised round his arms and partially his torso; his legs still unsteady. As his eyes scoured what was becoming a battlefield Nidori observed the black birds morph before him, unlike the one he’d briefly encountered moments before. To test their mettle he completed a few hand seals, subsequently firing a zankuuha towards one’s upper torso. Their not so tough 2 Down ~~~ As Nidori watched as the grey clad ‘crow-nin’ – as he’d formerly dubbed them – burst into a array of feathers, he he’d already figured that their strength of their numbers. That may have also weakened individual ones similar to the way a single bunshin of one hundred would be weaker than one of two created from the same technique. To avoid drifting off into his thoughts , Nidori shook his head; briefly yet intensly, he’d need to stay focused for this battle as to stay efficient in terms of his conservation of chakra while keeping in mind that civilians were present, ruling out wide scale attacks. Each strike would need to be precise. Looking onto the battle ground, the crow-nin didn’t seem to have any particular formation; resembling more of a mob than a military squad of any sort. The silver haired shinobi dipped his hand into his pouch, slipping out two kunai. Feeling the strength in his legs returning, he began to move, running forward through the madness towards a building. His line was blocked by a single grey ninja, Nidori’s next victim as he leapt from the ground and planted his foot on the front side of the fiend’s right shoulder. Not to waste any time, he then placed the other foot on the back of its head, proceeding to snap its neck; kicking off for leverage to reach the rooftop before the enemy reverted to feathers. 3 Down ~~~ As he flew; kunai in hand, Nidori twisted in the air as to look back toward the ground. He’d be able to throw the knives with less fear that it’d miss and injure a civilian. He took no time to select a target as he watched a bird morph into foot soldier, he took aim and threw one of the kunai, performing a selection of hand seals to follow; just one. It travelled swiftly towards its target, but was met with a movement similar to Nidori’s earlier evasive action albeit more controlled, fortunately Nidori had performed shuriken kage bunshin no jutsu to create a single duplicate. The second caught the shinobi in its lower torso. He sighed as he thought to himself They’e not very durable, but they seem to differ in skill... Whether the attmpeted dodge was intentional or not, it pissed Nidori off that he’d nearly underestimated the nin; dead or not. Furthermore, the launched projectile shifted the focus of several towards his rooftop. Some began scaling the wall, more would probably come from the sky soon enough. As he readied himself a large plume of smoke enveloped part of the battlefield, a toad emerging from it as it dissipated. Rasen? 4 Down ~~~ He peered out towards the large toad, knowing that it could very well be the dimensional toad user’s technique that spawned it. He came to realise that it Korin perched upon the amphibian. For a second he considered following suit, though he hadn’t really formed any sort of relationships with the Tanuki summons. He needed to form some understanding away from a battle before summoning them into a potentially awkward situation. Nidori quickly realised the error in his thoughts drifting from the battle even for a second as an assault of crow’s rained down, in the same way as the first but this time they had numbers and this time it was more pre-emptive. Nidori narrowly dodged the first crow’s beak, grazed his arm, ripping the netting of his undershirt. Rather than driving itself into the ground however, this crow morphed about a foot away from it, rolling out as it landed; a clear display of the varying skill between them all. The other two of the three crow assault morphed as they neared Nidori, seeming to have ditched the kamikaze dive bomb idea. As they came in from different trajectories, Nidori knew he couldn’t attack them both and ensure his strikes connect so he blitzed through several hand seals before launching a full-sound cannon at one of them, knowing he’d have to take whatever impending attack the other had for him. cntrstrk14 Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 As the barrier of sand would wrap around the retreating form of Korin, the hollow sounds of blows being struck against the sand outside like miniature bomb shells echoes off the small walls. This defense would not hold for long, but it had saved the girl for the moment. From an outside view, someone in the role of a commanding officer would commend her for the tactical move, because if she knew it or not there was a large company of enemy crow-nin with their attention towards her. The summoning of the toad and the destruction of a handful of their numbers had drawn a significant amount of aggravation, and now though the girl was backed into a corner with a barrier of sand between her and the lethal blows that struck against its walls, the rest of the group was given more freedom to strike. Nidori's target of his sound cannon would be struck, his torso thrusting backwards from the blow as he was tossed backwards into another crow-nin, both of them exploding in a display of black and gray feathers. Unfortunately, as Nidori had expected, the second crow-nin did not miss the opportunity and with a heavy fist would land a blow across the face of the silver-haired ninja. Moving through the crowd, Leira would slide into the fray, slamming a kick to the chest of a crow in mid morph, adapting the strategy that Korin had demonstrated, so rightful pointing out the weakness of the enemy while they were transforming. A burst of feathers would cover her next movements as she launched herself out the cloud and into the air, landing on the back of a crow, and with a burst of chakra and physical agility, launched herself even further into the sky as the crow she had landed on burst into feathers as well. As she neared another group of crows, three of them would immediately morph in mid air, keeping their momentum from a dive as they approached the light blonde haired girl. As they approached, Leira would know the effects of their momentum and the impossibility for her to change her angle. On the same note though, they had just as little control over their own movement as well. As the first neared, Leira would slide her body in close, grasping the vest of the ninja, bringing her head back as she did. With her headband secured to her forehead, she would swing her head quickly forward with brute force, knocking the opponent in the forehead and causing him to stiffen to the blow and loose his grip on her. As she had landed that blow though, the second crow-nin would grasp her from behind, but she was ready, using the now dead weight of the first ninja who she had brutally assaulted to send the three into a spin, causing the second to fly over her back, loosing his grip. Using the first body as a platform, she would turn towards the third opponent who was only a few feet away at this point and coming in with an uncontrolled speed. Jumping, she would hook her arm around his neck in a close line and head towards the ground with the speed of gravity. Swinging around to the man's back, she would grab his leg and arc his back, riding down on him as they approached the ground quickly. Within a few seconds after taking off, she would come crashing to the ground, black and gray feathers exploding as herself and the other two corpses would strike the rooftops next to the street. Brash had rushed out of the gate just as quickly, moving across the ground and using his speed to intercept the ninja on the ground. A crow-nin would raise an arm to a civilian only to have it blocked by the man's forearm, suffering a blow to the stomach a moment later and exploding into an array of feathers. Another crow would land on the ground, only to be struck in the face before he could even turn his newly found neck to look around at his surroundings. Another who was near the middle of the panicking civilians would find himself blown twenty feet into the air with a strong blast as the ground beneath him was turned into a bass speaker with a ninjutsu, exploding only as he reached the pinnacle of his flight and sending feathers back down towards the crowd. The others who had been in the tower had emerged, some staying guard at the tower to protect the wounded within. None had such an impact on the battle as the other four had though, and their fights were much fairer as the ninjas would trade blows until one would hairline a victory. The crow-nin numbers were massive; at least two dozen already on the ground or landing as many more dozen were still in the air. It seemed like they would be fighting the battle endlessly as crows still flickered into view with sparks of blue and purple. Suddenly though, there was a much larger spark of blue and purple along with a much larger shape about halfway between the ground and the growing cloud of black crows. A man, his body clothed in an Otogakure no Sato vest, emerged from the larger spark, coasting across the sky as he did. His forehead was wrapped many times with a black bandana so that his dark brown hair stuck out at awkward angles. On his right arm was a strange metal device and around his neck was a pair of heavy black and silver headphones. As he broke free of the blue and purple sparks, he would look around as if trying to get his bearings before locking gazes with Brash in the crowd. "RAEYN!! GET THE CROWS!!!”, Brash would yell out, slamming his hands on the ground where he stood in the streets. Immediately the man whose name was apparently Raeyn would nod and respond as if he had been there all along. "Yes sir!”, he replied, his form straightening to become aero dynamic as he head straight for an angled roof across the street. From the roof a large speaker like device would form, appearing below Raeyn and with a swift movement the flying man would swing his hands back and flip the headphones over his ears, just in time as the speaker let out a deafening blast of sound, literally tossing the man straight up towards the birds overhead. With a roar the device on his right forearm, that would apparently be a metal arc with two wheels below it, would come to life, the wheels spinning rapidly with some unseen force. Taking his left arm he would pull down on the metal arc, and from the friction between the arc and the wheels, thousands of sparks would fly outward. Spinning in the air the sparks would fire in all directions, giving the man the strange appearance of a firework, spinning into the air towards the cloud of birds. As he reached the cloud, birds swirling around him and darting in every direction, the sparks would intensify, flying in every direction with an intense orange heat, and then a moment later there would be a series of explosions in the air, feathers and flames intermingling and flying in every direction. As Raeyn would emerge from the cloud of birds, the explosions dying off behind him, he would fall towards the ground. About one third of the birds had been taken in the combined attack, and as the man fell towards the ground he would catch himself by jumping off a few roofs, rolling and coming to a decently rough stop. Ooc: I just imagine Korin just ran into the whelps, threw up some Arcane Explosions and then Ice Blocked. Korin, you can continue with the last exercise, starting as if you had 0 people taken out. Nidori can continue as if they had taken out 2 people.
cntrstrk14 Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 The real Li would stand his ground, watching Raz as he approached him as if to get in range. At the last moment though as Li readied for the frontal assault, the man would throw a kawanaga. Li would simply smirk, bending his knees to prepare to dodge, raising his hands up to touch his chest. With a sudden realization though his eyes would widen, his hands had stopped about six inches from his chest and he couldn't move his legs. His eyes shot over and could see the clone on the side, he was completely immobilized as the kawanaga would wrap around his legs. With a sharp jerk, Raz would do something very unexpected. Jumping up he would fling himself towards the portal that had been trying to drag him in all this time. Only this time Li would be dragged with him. How foolish, if he hadn't killed off the other version of himself in such haste he would have been able to stop this madness. However, he was alone now, and immobilized. As Raz would burst through the portal, rope in hand, he would realize that he was really high in the air, at least 200 feet or so. Then, a few things would happen at once. The first being, Raz would notice his surroundings in full. Below him was a crowd of people, citizens and ninja intermingling with sight of struggle between them. A sphere of sand was to one side being pulverized by six or seven ninja in gray uniforms. The dots he had seem moving through the portal against the sky were actually crows, swirling around like a dark cloud all about him. The next thing, he would notice rather abruptly as he emerged from the portal, was that there was a large eruption of fire all around him. Luckily, it seemed he was on the edge of the blast, but as Li would be ripped through the portal in mid air too, the rope would be cut in half by the fire, separating Raz and Li. With all of the smoke and flames, he would also loose sight of the other man, but that was the least of his trouble. ooc: Accuracy to hit, 450% before your evasion. Add your evasion and roll to dodge, the fire damage is 600 before your own modifiers. Treat this as an AoE attack.
Eechi-go Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Response Jutsu; Succeeded The boy smirked as he yanked Li out into the real world with him once more. His plan had succeeded and the look on Li's face was priceless. However, now that he was flung out into the real world, he'd notice what a distance there was between him and the earth. This was the least of his worries now, as he found himself within a spiraling haze of flame and smoke. This would burn straight through his kawanaga, before he groaned, watching Li break off from him into the wild blue yonder. "No! I'm not losing you here!!” He cried out in distress, blood boiling, as he thought quickly on his toes. If he allowed the flames to continue, they'd end up burning everyone around him, and likely those below him as well. Straining his tenketsu, the boy released an enormous, guiding current that he used to spin in the opposite direction of the flames. The flames would soon compact, before twirling around his body, close for comfort, before the boy guided them forward, now his vision clear of smoke in fire, before he cried out his jutsu. ".:Fuuton; Hineriku :." [Wind Release; Spinshot] The wind forged the same of a burning eagle as it approached Li who was fluttering through the sky. It it's wing's dripped sparks and tongues of flame, as it dove down on it's prey with flaming talons pryed open, before attempting to engulf the man within it's burning beak. Raz only hoped that this would prevent anyone else from getting hurt, due to the amount of chakra he strained to reverse it all back on the man. .:Fuuton; Hineriku [Wind Release; Spinshot]:.Type: Ninjutsu [Wind][sealess][Personal][Response] Rank: Sennin Cost: X [Where X = 1.25x the incoming damage or DP, in the case of a damage less jutsu.] Damage: N/A Effects: Can only be used in the response phase. Using this jutsu sacrifices the user's main phase. Target one jutsu/basic attack/weapon attack aimed at the user. The attack is redirected at the opponent. Cannot be used on genjutsu. If a weapon is used within the incoming attack, it is destroyed. In the case of indestructible, the weapon cannot be used for the remainder of battle. Useable twice per battle. Description: After the battle of Nigiyakashufu, Raz had discovered the necessity for more defensive ninjutsu. The best offense was a good defense, and he was dead set on keeping both of his methods of combat whole and effective. Though this jutsu varies in it's method of countering, the aftereffects are always the same. If an incoming ninjutsu threatens the boy, a jet stream of wind chakra will surround him, forcing the jutsu to double around back at the opposing ninja like a boomerang. In the case of taijutsu and weapon attacks, instead of spinning a jet stream around his body, the boy casts it forward, forcing the incoming attack to rebound back at the ninja's body. The pressure of the jet stream is enough to shatter weapons on contact. Redirecting the fire damage to just Li, 450% to hit. Raz Health; -250 Stamina: -0 Chakra; -325
cntrstrk14 Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 ooc: You are all in the same RP as of now, except for Hakkai, until he follows. You may fight Li or you may fight the crow-nin, or a combination. Choose your best actions. As Li would become free from the rope, he would feel his body come back under his control. Looking up he could see the portal back to his own dimensions becoming increasingly further away as him and the other boy began to plummet towards the ground. The fire that would wrap around them would seem to not harm Li as he fell below it, but it was quickly that Raz had offered a counter attack. The eagle of fire and wind came down on him and with a determine look in his eye he would raise both of his hands, his hair flying back as the force of impact would suddenly be halted only meters from his body. The eagle of fire was frozen in the air, all of its momentum stopped, the fire frozen still as well, not even flickering in the wind. It was an odd site, seeing fire itself frozen as if paused on a film. It would seem that not all of his power was lost. "HOW DARE YOU REMOVE ME!" Li would look around, the crows above head and raising his hands he would move them downwards. Suddenly, the entire cloud of crows would turn and plummet towards the ground as well. At least a hundred of them flying towards the ground in a final assault. It was all coming down to this, the overwhelming odds of the crow-nin and the mad second in command of Otogakure no Sato coming full force down on the real village.
Cloudnine Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 [[xDDD... Ice block for idiot check on Sapphy!]] Korin remained transfixed with baited breath as the heard fists and metal striking the sphere of sand. Her hands were throbbing, quivering, fingers already swollen and bent askew from where a crow shinobi had stepped on them. Gingerly, she repaired her fingers and drew them to her chest, searching for a spark of warmth to bring feeling back to the ill-fated digits. She was trembling too- from adrenaline, and mostly the strain of bearing the blows, knowing exactly what awaited her once this dusky haven was breached. It was already shaking in reverberation to the outside force, and groaned in complaint of its burden. Flakes of sand were already crumbling, peppering her tangled hair, which in its neglect, was knotty and slick from the sheen of sweat and oils. The barrier at her left shoulder was giving way- with a burst of chakra, the girl repaired the spot with a spike of sand, hearing a bodily thud which she assumed was the elimination of another crow nin. There wasn't much time left to do any more than what she'd done- her actions were only buying time to what she already accepted was her fall. Crow: 1 Roll: 8 Resigned as she may sound, Korin could almost feel it. Like before in Fang, everyone was down past their last reserves- she knew it. There was numbness in her legs, her fingers… her thoughts, emotions clouded over in preparation for downfall, for her final shield to cave in in pieces, splinters and fragments of lost time. She'd be left in the unforgiving open, flanked only by hostile shinobi, an easy target. In all, this was just… overwhelming. More sand fell as the sphere continued to shake. Korin was breathing it- it was falling into her mouth as she sipped for breath- and she swallowed it as her parched throat burned. It stung her eyes and she wiped the irritated tears away with even sandier and dirtier hands. She licked her lips, shut her eyes as the grains moved down to smolder in her stomach. It was only moments before a crack split open above her, followed by a searching hand. Korin instantly reacted, setting his sleeve aflame and watching the arm retract to melt, disappear to black. The pieces continued to fall as another arm replaced the previous shinobi's, furious hands scrabbling to pry the shield from the inside out. Crow: 2 Roll: 10 She gazed skyward, watching the bespeckled sky. There was a dull pitter patter of feet rushing, and a faint cry. Her mind urged her to drop the barrier- it was time. Yet her eyes remained transfixed upon the gaping hole at the top of the crumbling sphere, watching and eerie sunburst erupt in the sky. With a few hand seals, the girl compressed a handful of fire, putting it into the ground. Another hand suddenly reached in and Korin offered up her wrist. She jumped into the yanking force, catching the crow-nin off guard as she swung both legs around his arm and crossed at his shoulder. The force sent the two of them tumbling into the ground on their backs, Korin maintaining the desperate lock on his arm. As her initial advantage of surprise faded, the gray ninja overpowered her grasp and lunged at her as she stood. She fell to the ground again, hands catching his wrists, knees propped against his torso as he fell earthbound too. With a solid kick, she bucked his waist onto her feet and a final push to send him backwards into two more advancing shinobi. Korin's aim sent him atop the useless sand barrier and the freshly planted mine. Crow: 3 Roll: 8 She watched with a distant satisfaction as the man was engulfed in burning flames- he took off in panic, wailing until he collapsed, twitching until his withered leathery body burst into ashy feathers. As more crow nin approached, Korin propelled herself backwards several yards with her boots again, awkwardly scraping her skin against the ground as she didn't bother to stand. When she put out a hand to shakily stand, the girl felt a textured paper, a battered scroll left partly undone. She rolled it open to examine its contents. As the burning man distraction expired, the two shinobi came for her again. Summoning two half-assed tree deformities to deter her pursuers, she was surprised to see one go up in feathers. The gnarled treants continued their vain assault in holding onto the next attacker. Their branches lasted the crow nin. One quickly succumbed to swift blows while the other was faltering to the element of time. Korin anxiously studied the scrawling calligraphy. This is… Raz's technique. She assumed it could only have fallen through with the appearance of his wind shuriken. With a push of chakra, she could only pray that the jutsu would attune to her wind affinity. Crow: 4 Roll: 5 The demon tree croaked in its defeat, its branches stiffening and its ghoulish face losing the feathers to smooth into nothing abnormal. Wind coiled around the girl as she attempted to learn using her first scroll-derived technique as well as a ninjutsu so high in rank- the katas listed seemed almost… overwhelming. Panicking as the pursier neared, Korin lashed out at his as soon as she felt something material in her grip. Crow ninja neatly splitting in two, it showered Korin's astonishment in a flurry of black. Understandably not as formidable in size as Raz's shuriken that passed through the portal, it lay slightly longer than her arm, its blades flickering between the palest green and nothing. Its form warped and waned in her white-knuckled grasp as the compressed wind remained too volatile for the girl's chakra to maintain. She took the moment to catch her breath. Her ratty sleeve wiped away the sand that clung to her face. Bending down, Korin rolled Raz's scroll up with one hand and pocketed it, figuring it would be bad if one of these crow ninja learned to read a scroll in the same time it took her… Crow: 5 Roll: 7 There was a whirring sound entering her resting state. Instantly, the girl brought her free arm before her, hearing a metallic clang as a kunai struck against the arm guard before spinning off to the side. There was only Wukong Aiko to thank for the NCIA hunter-nin gear. She'd insisted on crafting the armor from the best materials and trained Korin in usage and maneuvering. A pang. Would she, Korin… could she take Aiko's place? To give every aspiring student the opportunity to reach their potential through guided tutelage. And… sacrifice herself for the younger, brighter lights of the future? Even through the current events, Korin challenged herself to rise of Aiko's level. NCIA or not, Korin believed in heart. Chakra gates slowly clicked open as her Wukong bloodline stirred. It gave her a small buff in her weariness, weak compared to the initial effects of the soldier pill. But this rush was familiar, practiced- Korin knew where her strengths would lie. She gazed at the transparent shuriken clenched in her right hand. If only the scroll gave her the ability to aim as well… It whistled as it flew, the keen edge of howling wind cutting through the air, near invisible against the gray backdrop. Crow: 6 Roll: 9 It successfully cut towards the crowd of remaining mass of crow-nin, noticeably thinned in ranks by the combination of ground efforts and a new stranger's aerial technique. The pale green blade sliced through a crow nin, scattering the plumage. The concentrated wind broke, a half snapping off into the air while the other part continued on its course, finishing his nearby ally with a shattering noise. More feathers, and Korin was still a decent distance away. She gently touched the scroll tucked into a pocket on her thigh. She'd have to give it back to him and thank him for the convenient save. Running low on chakra and strength, the girl quickly performed kawarimi at the next kunai thrown her way. The flying blade would collide with a woven carrying basket filched from nearby. Korin moved to keep this distance from the fray. She found the basket's old spot a safer retreat- nestled into a corner of a brick house facing away from the scene before the Kyoukage's tower. Out of chakra, all she could do was salvage for more. She used a mental map of all her sealed wounds the medics had treated after their victory at Fang. Crow: 7 Roll: 7 FFFFFFF- Korin took a breath. She put her right palm against her other arm, letting the healed burns undo. Her hand sapped the chakra and the cure, restoring it to her chakra coils while the burns returned to their leathery blistered state. She repeated the same process on her right arm, watching as the healing flesh regressed. Arms screaming at her now, Korin winced but refused to stop, now reabsorbing chakra from the sword wound she sustained on the mission with Raz. The area around the stitches that rested at the bottom of her ribs peeled open, soon wetting her vest with consequences. The wounds she displaced from Raz onto her during the battle against the Kaguya opened up as well, cuts weeping across her upper back. Korin stood, stiff from pain. Rounding the house to face the battle again, she was quickly targeted by a crow nin. Though she was slowed by the injuries, it mattered little in her rapid firing of a disc of lightning, breaking through what armor he had adorned. Feathers. She followed the feathers as they danced upwards. A gasp. "Raz?” she cried to the skies, attention thrown from the battle around her. Crow: 8 Roll: 8 BAAAAAAAAAAAAW. Korin's eyes frantically scanned the condition of the skies. Most of the crows had been eliminated, making her endeavor to take flight safer without attackers. She pushed chakra towards her feet and felt a springy sensation take hold. With her initial training in Kumo, she'd learned their well known ‘Float' technique, which felt [in her opinion] similar to standing on a cloud. [Or at least what a cloud should feel like.] She gained distance off the ground, and, upon seeing a potential threat armed with throwing weapons, performed a set of handseals and spat another set of three weak-strength fireballs towards the shinobi. Out of his vision until the last instant, two of the three managed to hit and down the crow. She continued her ascent upwards after the blast subsided, hoping to meet Raz midway. Arms open, she halted and slowly dropped altitude to prepare for the impact. The breath whooshed out of her as she caught him, the pair spiraling towards the ground despite the airborne jutsu. Her boots boomed as the activated them again. The two surged upwards, whiplash nearly snapping Korin's neck back. Acceleration ceased, Korin gradually descended to the ground, arms tightly holding Raz to her chest. Crow: 9 Roll: 3 Finally. >__>
Eechi-go Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 (edited) Heroes:. Watching his eagle freeze in midair was quite a sight to behold. He wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't seen it with his own two eyes. It had become a sculpture forged of fire, and it still glistened, making it appear as the greatest masterpiece an artist could ever lay their eyes upon. This stunned Raz, as he toppled down towards Oto, mind completely blank from his jutsu failing once again against this monster of a man. Part of him wanted to give up, surrender, end the strain he felt whenever he moved a muscle. His body obliged, not allowing his joints to function, his muscles to budge, his chakra clogged in his tenketsu as he wondered if he truly did push himself far past what was physically possibly. Then he was caught. He almost didn't realize it at first, what with his body still hanging downwards, and descending still, albeit at a slower rate. Only when he heard the desperate breaths from behind him did he realize he was saved. Tilting his head back as far as he could, a few crackles of his spine echoing through his shell of a body as he did so, he'd see Korin, struggling to keep them up, bloodied and bruised to the point that he hardly recognized her. He didn't say a word as they'd slowly descend back towards earth, but he'd instantly turn around to look at her, his hand cupping her cheek softly as he did so. She was badly beaten down, by what he couldn't imagine. Seeing someone he cared for deeply hurt this badly began to leave a burning sensation in his heart, a type of rage he'd only felt once or twice in his ninja career. "Where would I be without you? I'm sorry for dragging you into this, I never wanted this to happen…” He smiled solemnly to her, apologetically. He'd begin to remove his long coat, before sweeping it around her, covering her in it so it'd keep her safe somehow. This was the boy's way of telling her ‘I'll keep you safe', which she'd probably have learned by now. He was reduced to just his blackened, torn shirt now, as he attempted to diagnose the rest of her injuries. With Li's battle cry, hundreds of crows would descend from the sky, allowing the sun to pierce through their obsidian feathers as they came closer. This oncoming threat seemed to prioritize Raz and Korin as their main objective, and Raz was happy to oblige. He'd raise one hand out up towards the sky, and with that one hand, mold the air around him into nine different forms. ".:Fuuton; Kinchou ato Hane :." [Wind Release; Birds of a Feather] Circling around Raz would be 9 birds in the shape of eagles, all with a small bit of transparency through them. Their feather's would occasionally fall from their figures, cascading towards Oto's soil. Suddenly, popping out from Korin's cleavage, the tiny mockingbird Raz had made to guard her leapt out to join it's brethren in this battle with fierce determination. The birds fled to the skies, lead by the tiny mockingbird, and with all they had, tore through their obsidian colored foes with epic grace. Much like the battle of 300 Spartans, these brave birds managed to bombard and tear through a majority of the crows forces through sheer teamwork and a bit of guidance from Raz. Of course, ten against a bit less then a hundred crows could not all be stopped so easily. A majority of the crows burst through the eagle's first line of defense, bum rushing the couple with very little organization. Raz, deciding he shouldn't waste much more chakra, strategize use of one of his less costly, yet highly effective jutsu to aid him. Opening his full palm, wind would be sucked into it like a vacuum, and after some careful manipulation of it, it'd forge a sphere in which contained within a powerful sound that would devistate the victims in it's path. With his free hand, he weakened the entire top half of the sphere by forcing chakra at it with dizzying speed, before rearing the orb back. "This is for Brash-sama-!!” ".:Futon Hijutsu; Ametsuchi no Stribog:." [secret Wind Type; Sphere of the Stribog] The orb would crack from the stress of the chakra the instant he'd thrust it forward at the incoming crows. The roaring sound would echo like a miniature sonic boom, rippling through the ranks of the onslaught crazed crows. Many would die upon the impact, and the other's would become deaf and disoriented, flying into buildings or straight down into the earth. This would give his birds a slight advantage over the remaining crows. Indeed, the jutsu Brash had taught him long ago did have some use, and he was proud to defend Oto with it. He'd watch through the cascading birds that Li was still falling, and that he was still ready and willing to attack the village. Raz had never fought a madman like him, even the Raikage went down with dint of extreme effort. It occurred to him that he no longer was but a child in the world of ninja. He had made a name for himself after all these years, left a mark on history, and it was now his duty, like it or not, to combat madmen like this, and maintain the peace and order within the village he loved so much. He had no one else to save him now, no one to bail him out of mistakes. He'd be the one setting the examples from here on in. With every eye of Otogakure no Sato on him, every child watching with any doubt of their desire to become a shinobi waning in their minds, he had to become that man that they needed to look up to, he needed to become what Oto needed in both himself and all the other ninja of this proud village; it's heroes. With chakra stirring within his hand and on his back, Raz gazed up at Li with intent to end this battle no matter what the costs. Suddenly, from his spine, two enormous, sky-tinted wings would burst from the boy's shoulder blades, decimating his shirt completely, leaving him completely topless now. ".:Hisui Fuusha; Tsubasa no Icarus:." [Jade Pinwheel Type; Wings of Icarus] The chakra within the wings surged, moving at hyper speeds in enable flight. He'd need it, no matter how much chakra this drained from him. With one last look back at Korin, he'd prepare himself for this decisive blow. It was time to earn their happy ending. "After this we're going home, together.” Edited April 17, 2009 by Eechi-go
Khaos Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 ((ooc: First roll was good, second wasn't...)) The silver haired shinobi was cleanly struck by the crow-nin's heavy handed punch. He staggered across the rooftop; unmistakably rattled by the blow. He looked forward toward the grey clad enemy, his eyes narrowing as a rage built within him; his body however was stubbornly unwilling. More likely down to his inactivity than anything else. He leapt toward the opposing ninja he controlled his chakra in such a way to create a fierce vibration within himself, quickly shifting this force into and through his arm until it was only contained within his clenched fist. As he came within striking distance he opened his stance, shifting weight to his right side for a second before launching the attack on his left. He drove his palm into the shinobi's face; had Nidori been a bigger man, the relative force could have fatal singlely. As his palm touch his face however, the force transfered into his opponent's body, growing in intensity as Nidori kept his hand in place. Seconds later Nidori found himself still siphoning chakra but into a collection of feathers, the crow-nin having having perished almost instantly. It was at that inappropriate time that he had a flash of the last time he'd used that technique in such a ruthless way. As he knelt before his fallen target; having ceased the technique itself, Nidori found himself immobolised. He stayed quiet, stoic, for a while; at the same time there were crow-nin reaching the rooftop. Even these, who were meant to be the opposing force hesitated to attack. As Nidori slowly took to his feet once again; there was an attempt at a rush, a single shinobi charging the remorseful boy from the back. In order to attack with a heel kick to the back, the ninja flipped forward planting his heel into Nidori's lower back, the impact brought more of a shock than any substantial pain. The force itself sent Nidori to the ground, though he'd already been awakened by the attack itself. He spent no time prone as he vaulted back to his feet. Upright and facing his attacker, he performed a few handseals before concentrating chakra in his core, he took a breath before letting out a shout; almost a roar, to exclamate his vigour. As the sound left his lips, it seemed to take near transparent form. The shockwave, while initially directed at the ninja who'd attacked him would also put those who surrounded Nidori in imminent danger. As feathers took to the air as the shockwave dissipated, Nidori found his tilted upwards as the action involved in his shout had taken him. It was then that he saw what could only be described as 'still fire'; a surreal sight and one he couldn't take his eyes off for a period of time. Scoping the rest of the area, he noticed what appeared to be the cause of the marvel before him. A bearded man was in the sky, as too was a familiar. Rasen? As his gaze swept down towards the area Korin he stopped mid way as he saw the Kusa kunoichi on her way to intercept her partner during his descent. The other man seemed to have control over himself in the air, albeit slightly limited control. Nevertheless, the man then appeared to 'command' the cloud of blackbirds, sending them all towards the village for what could've been a final attack. There was little doubt that his man was this NCIA commander, the man responsible for the state his home village was in. The dark rain neared the village, almost as a reaction, Nidori liffted his thumb to his mouth, either to summon to summon Otomiko, or a member of the Tanuki's; who he'd not yet famiiarised himself with. Before he could begin a series of seals he sensed the air get slightly heavier, dense with chakra for a short while. Looking for the source as he was sure it wasn't the NCIA commander, he came to see Rasen launching his own counter attack. Switching back to surveillance of the man still makin ghis descent, Nidori wouldn't give him a chance to launch another attack. He had faith that Rasen's attack would be enough for the crows. He'd already shown so much ability aand it seemed as though the two had already been locked in battle somewhere else. Nidori aimed his palms towards the man and proceeded to launch a barrage of 'air bullets', coming from the nozzle of his air pressure device. Once he'd fired around two dozen he ceased creating any more, instead he performed handseals activating the shuriken shadow clone technique replicating the missiles on their way to the target. The sky was filled with the small bullets, an attack clearly designed less for accuracy. As he'd completed the technique, he looked towards Korin and Rasen once again, this time seeing the boy had sprouted wings; it was as though he was being sourced from something else. It became clear that whatever he was preparing for was big, it was no doubt a high level attack. Whether his own attack would cause him defeat beforehand or -more likely- be a distraction to ensure a success for Rasen would soon become apparent.
Cho Hakkai Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Hakkai walked through the portal. He didn't know where this would go. It could go through time, space, hell it go to back to when Hakkai was born. But, Hakkai needed to go through this. Li needed to be finished off. As he passed through, he'd notice that a falling sensation was overcoming him. Well, that could be because he was literally falling. The portal he had gone through made him appear in the sky. Hakkai let out a small yell as he noticed what was going on and quickly looked around to see if he could grab onto anything. But looking around, he saw Li beneath him and with a wind based attack coming at him from Raz. Hakkai smiled as now was the perfect oppuratunity to strike down and kill Li with what else? A sound based attack. Hakkai began to make several hand seals as electricity began to come out of his body. He wouldn't make the sound himself. When his lightning hit the wind, which should hit Li at the same time, they'll create a sound blast that should do major damage. Hakkai sent the energy from his body into his right arm. It soon took the form of a lightning bolt. He had yet to make this justu its own, but as a variation it was as good as he could get. Hakkai threw his arm back and with a thrust, threw the lightning bolt down at Li, hoping for this to be the end of it all. "This is for Mikomi!" Thunderbolts Of Zeus (Kongou Zeus)
Eechi-go Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Boom:. Boom:. Boom:. "Time to go.” With a smile, the boy was off that smile quickly forming a determined scowl as his wings let him slice through the air like a hot knife through butter. His wings would tear straight through dozens of crows, as he'd whiz towards Li with unparallel speeds. In his right hand, wind had begun to spiral around, condensing into a single point, beginning to form the oh so familiar drill technique he had developed himself after all this time. And this time he'd use it, he'd make sure he wouldn't miss. Back in Oto II, Raz's clone would watch the happenings from the portal's mouth. Still staying in tune with it's master, it watched eagerly, and impatiently until it could act one more as Li's catalyst. As it saw it's master approach Li airborne, it would make sure it would do it all possibly could to end Li's life here and now. Leaping out from the portal, the clone would perform a stream of hand seals, before raising his fist to his mouth, and through the hole between his fingers and palms, would release a massive torrent of air that covered such a large range that even Li couldn't stop. The clone had begun free falling with Hakkai, but the instant this jutsu released, it disappeared. Normally this jutsu would send people over several miles with the amount of force behind it, but Raz only wanted Li to be sent hurdling down at his real body so fast he wouldn't have time to stop his jutsu, or avoid it. ".:Fuuton; Daitoppa :." [Wind Release; Great Breakthrough] With boiling blood, and the spirals in his eyes slowly spinning, all the chakra in his body would be redirected into his hand. Both boys knew what they had to do, so much so that they could practically read each other's minds. With all the chakra and willpower the could muster, Raz threw his arm forward, an enormous beam of wind that tore through the skies, aiming directly at Hakkai's lightning bolt. ".:Hisui Fuusha; Reppuu Gun:." [Jade Pinwheel Type; Gale Force] Once more, the raw power of the elements would show their true strength this day. A blast of sound so powerful that it had once blown the skin, muscles and bone apart from the Kaguya girl within Fang. Her entrails were splattered across the palace grounds, more then most ninja had seen in a lifetime. She had only survived due to her bloodline's incredible regeneration, but Li wasn't as lucky as her to be born into the Kaguya, nor was it humanly possibly to maneuver quick enough to avoid such a point blank shot. The sonic boom would form right next to him, and the sheer force of it caused Raz's wings to shatter into pieces like glass, sending his body hurdling down back to Oto's earth at breakneck speeds, his headband untying on the way down, as he bounced like a rag doll a couple times, before coming to a complete stop, his headband slicing straight into the earth like a blade, standing defiantly against the roaring winds. It's steel plate echoed the sunlight in the background, as well as the events that were unfolding up by Li.
cntrstrk14 Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Li had not fallen to the ground, and it was for good reason. When he had stopped Raz’s attack earlier, he had somehow suspended himself in the middle of the air, floating there as his crows assaulted the ground. As he hovered above the ground, the assault of crows being blown away by Raz’s attack, some of them landing on the ground only to be intercepted by the other ninja, Brash and ‘L’ taking out a specific set of crow ninja as they had neared the civilians. Li, on the other hand, seemed to be focusing on something else. The sky above the group started to tear apart, portals like the one Raz and Li had come through opening up by the dozens, some much larger than the original. Li began to scream, a deep roar as he summoned up the last of his will, madness riding over all of his senses as his rage was released at the village. “I WON’T LET YOU HAVE THE LAST LAUGH!!!!” Li’s maddening words would be the harbinger for his final stand. Through the portals above, pieces of buildings, carts, stone, and earth began to pour out. The entirety of Otogakure no Sato from the other side of the portal was upside down and now fall towards the real Oto with enough forces to level the majority of the city. As Li kept his hands raised, the dozens of bullets from Nidori would approach him from his lower left. Taking his left hand down, Li would face his palm towards the attack, floating in mid air another bubble just barely visible could be seen around him, and as the bullets would each reach this bubble they would halt in mid air, just as the fire had before. They simply paused, hoving in midair harmlessly in front of the man. Li laughed, hard. “SUCH A PUNY ATTACK IS NOTHING FOR A GOD LIKE ME!!!”, he shouted, his voice echoing supernaturally throughout the village. As he did the sky would light up above him. "This is for Mikomi!" A lightning bolt, from above, striking down with such speed and force that it would destroy anything in its path. Keeping his right arm raised, Li would place it between him and the bolt, and as it would touch the edge of the bubble it would also halt, a lightning bolt blazing brightly in the air. The tail would not completely halt, slowly trickling back until it appeared to be a single short bolt of burning white energy at the edge of the bubble, frozen in time just as the air bullets. Li's face looked with anger above him towards Hakkai, he had forgotten that the man was still 'above' him in the other dimension. At the same moment, Raz's force of wind would collide with the lightning at the top of the bubble, the force intensifying for a moment and causing a sonic boom flashing brightly, and slowing, slowing towards a steady stop. Li stood there, his face frozen in concentration for a moment as all three of the attacks were being held by his shield, each supernaturally frozen in time. His eyes for a moment darted towards Raz with a menacing look that would kill if it could. And then, a twitch. One of the bullets from Nidori began to rotate, ever so slowly, moving forward at a painfully slow speed towards Li. He shifted his left hand towards it, but as he did two more bullets on the other side began to slowly rotate and move forward as well. As he tried to adjust again to his old position all three, then four, then seven bullets started crawling forward. “No... No... NO!!!!!”, he screamed out, the bullets slowly getting faster as Li's left hand danced to try and stop them. The lightning above sparked, flickering for a moment under the bubble. Li looked up and then there was a loud crack. A bullet broke through, slamming into the man's stomach. The impact caused the rest of the bullets to slam through, a good portion of them slamming into the man's frame one after another as each impact caused him to twitch and move. As the final one would hit the attack above him would break, the combined force of the lightning and wind flushing over him like a sudden train out of a completely silent tunnel. The man would be thrown towards the ground with such force, flying in an out of control spin until he slammed into the middle of the market, crashing through a fountain that had stood there and sending water, brick and dust in every direction. The strike alone had been enough to kill the man, and the impact would have surely torn his body to shreds. There was not even a sign of his body aside pieces of clothing which had caught rocks, leaving the small creator in the market as a reminder. The sky above, the buildings and debris falling towards Oto would flicker, disappearing just as they neared the tallest buildings, fading as if they were an illusion. Just as soon, all of the portals in the sky would close, cutting off the other dimension. As well, any crows left among the ninja fighting would fade and disappear suddenly, each with a quick puff of smoke. The fight was over. -------------------- Eechi-go - 13876 words -- 2081 + 700 (RPQ Bonus) + 300 (Ingenuity Bonus) ::::: 3081 Total EXP Cho Hakkai - 10087 words -- 1513 + 700 (RPQ Bonus) + 400 (Ingenuity Bonus) ::::: 2613 Total EXP Bifrost - 9996 words -- 1499 + 1000 (RPQ Bonus) + 500 (Ingenuity Bonus) ::::: 2999 Total EXP Khaos - 13669 words -- 2050 + 700 (RPQ Bonus) + 500 (Ingenuity Bonus) ::::: 3250 Total EXP
Cho Hakkai Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) Hakkai, still in the air, would see the action that involved Li in front of him. After all was done with, Li was dead. Gone. Poof. Most importantly... He was no more. Hakkai chuckled. He had no more energy. No chakra, no stamina, and barely any consciousness. For a second, he felt like he was floating on pure happiness. It was finally over. But, reality kicked in and he began to feel a falling sensation overcome. That was because he was falling. He couldn't conjure any chakra in his system to lessen the blow and so WHAM! He hit the ground beneath him. A cloud of dust came up from where he hit. Hakkai laid facing towards the sky. Somehow, he was still conscious, but again, barely. His body was too heavy to move. His muscles were burning. His bones ached and many of them probably broken. His shirt… Still non-existing. But the one thing that he still had that would have probably made him just pass out if it wasn't there was his headband. It still was on his forehead. It was loose, almost off. But damn it, it still counted as being on. It was scuffed, scratched, dented, hell it looked like silver shit with a green rag on it. It was, however, Hakkai's only true connection to Mikomi and the old Otogakure no Sato. Hakkai laid there in his little small indent on the land just smiling and laughing. Even though he was not a pretty sight, Hakkai still managed to get a laugh out. "Mikomi,” he said weakly, "I got it back for you. Please, say something before I pass out. Anything.” The words that came out of his mouth were muffled, soft, and pretty much made no sense. But Hakkai thought them so hard. He just wanted to hear something. Khaos Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I guess he was the commander we were looking for then, Nidori thought to himself as the climax to the battle had been reached. The man had been destroyed and with him the madness he'd created dissipated. Nidori wondered for a second where the electrical attack had originated from, not being too far gone as to think there was a coincidencial freak lightning strike. His eyes scanned upon a source, noticing another figure in the sky. He instantly recognised it as Hakkai, also taking note that he was falling, fast. In an attempt to intercept the boy's descent, Nidori planned a route across the rooftops in his head that would take him near enough for him to jump for him. In practice he got as far as a single step; his eyes went hazy before rolling back in his head, of which he was way in over. He, himself slammed on the floor a foot from where he stood unable to move. The impact woke him up however, though still immobolised, he opened his eyes seconds later, his head facing right; his heavy breaathing picked up dust, clouding his vision. As the dust settled he could see that there was another plume of smoke coming from what was the battlefield. It appeared Rasen still had enough chakra for a summon, summoning a toad which, at this point could have only been used for transit. His suspiscions were confirmed as he saw the oto nin climb upon its back, followed by who he made out to be Korin. Soon the exhaustion would bear its influence upon Nidori; too much to muster, he gave in; allowing himself to rest. The day had been long, but the hard part was over.
