Leon Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Only problem I really see with this is the Heaven Piercing Blade ability allowing a 30% break through. Although maybe making an ability where skills and items could not reduce the damage from this blade would be a lot better. Love this weapon it seems very awesome!
Pwnzie Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Changed to something a tad different, hows that?
Cellar Door Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Look at Heaven Piercing Blade again and remove one of the 'Doesn't work against stronger guys than me' clauses.
cntrstrk14 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 My biggest problem is that it is such a crippling blow for a low investment to an entire archetype of character. Defensive characters rely on longer battles because they don't have as many stats to place into offensive modifiers. I would be more okay with this if it said "weapon attacks" instead of just "attacks" seeing how you can just have every jutsu you create involve the sword somehow. We could also price it appropriately, because there is always the counter play of breaking the weapon available to the opponent. Would like other staff to weigh in here. Also- was pristine edge approved elsewhere? Can we get a link so we can start tallying these?
Leon Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Pristine Edge The Heaven Piercing is actually more powerful now. It went from ignoring 30% of defense to 50% of both the stat and skills that go along with it. Try something like "Skills or techniques that would lower the damage of this weapon may only use up to 80% of their modifier". That was its not really crippling someones defensive stat nor ignoring their skills?
Pwnzie Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) I am alright with changing the wording to weapon attacks if that would be more acceptable, I hadnt considered the abuse potential with the wording as it was, but your point about the techniques is definitely right. Weapon attacks is fine. And the cost $ wise is 300 from the link leon posted. Edited July 23, 2014 by Sasukepwnz
Hardcore Skittlez Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Off the top of my head: Heaven Slicing: 600 Earth Slicing: 700 (precedent set here) also, make it so that these attacks cannot crit. no doubling up on critical damage. Guilty: I recall a precedent of 100$=1 skill point somewhere before, so this could probably get away with $200. Innocent: I'm gunna say.... 400.
Hardcore Skittlez Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Earth Slicing Blade - Attacks made with this weapon deal 1.5x damage against barriers and shields. This attribute does not affect barriers and shields created by techniques of a higher rank than the user. Description: This sleek, black blade will destroy any obstacle in its path to hunt out the guilty, and so it has grown a reputation for its ability to slice through even hardened still in pursuit of its wielder’s enemies. 700$ The more I look at that, the more I'm like "hmmm. Probably not." Reduce the extra damage to 10% and chance the cost to 600. Filly's Legs deals an extra 20% to barriers only per large weapon swing. Medium weapons would gain half that per swing(logic of number of swings vs damage of swings), and this would cost double as it deals bonus damage to both barriers and shields.
Hardcore Skittlez Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Should specify between total/base on the same attribute. Also, you forgot to update the weapon's cost to be 1800 instead of 1900.
