They were surrounded, circled like a group of rabbits fleeing from a pack of wolves. I should have left him.. her thoughts betrayed the distant team-mate. "Ah, and so it's come to this? I assume you're the leader...?", she brought an accusing finger around to point at the member with the highest levels of chakra. " Why don't we solve this like, ah, Gentlemen? I challenge you to a duel, one on one.", from her byukagan-based readings, she could tell that the man was about her level of strength, if not a bit more or less. If she could take him out in one on one combat, he could not only no longer lead his troops, but that would be one less for the group to fight. It was time to seal her challenge with a taunt, "Unless you are a coward, that is." She took the stance of the Gentle fist. His muscles tensed and untensed. He looked around quickly. ...8.... He thought to himself. Though he wasnt able to see well in the dark, he could see well enough to count them. He listened to the chunnin challenge the leader. He opened his mouth only a fraction and spoke in less then a whisper. "...I dont doubt you skills...but prehaps it would be better if we worked together in this. I never said I was exactly the best fighter and Im not really in the mood to die for you right now. Challenging just one and leaving the rest to triple team one of us might not be the best strategy right now..." He said quietly, his eyes still darting back and fourth. He was placing the best choices for him to take on, the weakest. He would only be a handicap if he tryed to take the more challenging ninja, he didnt want that. If he could distract the annoyences from attacking the others, he would be able to help without getting himself killed. He got himself in a fighting stance, ready for anything. These more hostile than even Jinsoku had been as he foolishly attacked the yellow eyed ninja. This voice dripped with malice. The oppurtunity to gain glory for oneself made the worst out of men. Ryuu stood slowly, gently toying with the skin of his neck where a blade had been only moments before. Jinsoku, an unfamiliar ally seemed nervous. It must have been his first real chance at combat too. "Kit, I think our new friend is a little nervous." He said to one of his long-time teammates in reference to his would be assailant. Ryuu himself wasn't afraid. He'd seen and felt Mizumono's power. The dark, blurry outline he assumed was the leader stood no chance. The rest of the shadowy silhouettes, eight in all, looked fairly weak in his night blind vision. "Don't you see, you couldn't make a difference... you'd just be in the way" The girl whispered, her plush lips curving into an almost sadistic smirk. She admired the youngsters passion and fiery vibe but his lack of acceptance had begun to irritate her. The distasteful sight of numerous NCIA shinobi quickly filtered into her vision, like weeds sprouting amongst a bed of roses. Kitara felt her chest tighten, reaching into her pouch and retrieving her twin kunai, one unscathed, the other smeared with dried blood. Glancing nervously towards Jinsoku, she hoped the current situation would rid his mind of any further questions of Kaoru's death. "Yes... with good reason" The girl answered, positioning herself so Jin stood between her and Ryuu, a mild attempt at comforting the kid, despite his determination, and shielding him from any frontal attacks that would quickly claim his existence. "He really does want to survive... doesn't he?" Kit wondered, gripping the hilt of her blade firmly as she slid gracefully into fighting stance. But even so, it was his decision to attack someone else in the group, to cause a distraction; it was obvious that the Hyuuga was their target, but what would happen if things wouldn't go as she planned? Not all of the NCIA were daft. The soldier inhaled, aiming a fiery ninjutsu blast at one of the boys in the group. [Aimed at Ryuu] Powerful Fireball Skill (Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu) Type: Ninjutsu (Fire) Rank: Gennin Cost: 40 Damage: 30, 6 burn damage a turn for 2 turns. Effect: If performed by a member of the Uchiha clan this technique causes serious burning which will extend the burn to five posts. If this technique misses the user is left vulnerable for one post due to the awkward position they need to take to use the jutsu. Description: The trademark fireball jutsu, this technique creates fire from the lungs and generates it through the mouth, funneling through a hand put in front of the mouth. Due to needing to stand still and putting the hands away from the defense this can be a risky move. The weapons could not be unmade, and the souls could not be detached, but they could be pulled apart, their powers dimmed, their might broken. The Alchem Clan altered the minds of these weapons, forcing from them their identities, their true names. These names were given to the God of Death, and were locked away inside of his head, inside of his palace. This knowledge could be moved, taken from the weapons, and unable to be recalled by any but a human with a soul that is compatible with the trapped one. The weapons were still extremely powerful, and very dangerous. To protect everyone involved, prisons were designed. The weapons would be hidden, as weapons. The Alchem crafted the failed experimental weapons, each holding a life force, but not mind, into living prisons of metal. The true weapons were hidden within, and the living souls distorted their identity, and silence their power. Alchemic symbols were given to each shell, ensuring it to be unlocked only by one who knew the name of the true weapon, or was of the Alchem Clan, and was strong enough the break the seals themselves. The exact number of these weapons is unknown, but there is assumedly only thirteen, one to each Alchem creator, but since the weapons were never recorded, this number is unreliable. One such creator was Alchem Fhaju. Fhaju was an artist, and used his Alchemy to construct beautiful homes and works of art. He viewed this weapon as his greatest masterpiece. Fhajou created the blade that would become this sword with his own alchemy, and in it, he transferred his desire for an artful soul to be compatible with the metal. After hunting down several scores of artists, Fhajou would one who was a flower arranger. The flower shop owner bonded with the metal, creating a blade obsessed with crafting flowers. In its most released form, the blade would actually turn into a field full of flower petals, a tribute to the soul’s wishes. The soul was not the only one to gain his own wishes. The Blade of One Thousand Falling Cherry Blossoms, like the rest of the soul-imbued weapons, was doomed to a fate of limbo, its memories eradicated, and its form sealed inside of a second weapon. On the gallows, its creator actually requested a name for its sealed form. He requested that the Fabulous Katana was to be placed into a straight sword, with no marks, or anything else, that would tell it apart. Let some lucky warrior discover it and use it, even if not how Fhajou originally intended the grandest of weapons to be. Sentient ThoughtDescription: Being the Embodiment of a long lost soul, the weapon or armor in question is able to think for itself, and, if possible, move on its own accord (of course, this does not apply to a chestplate, that cannot move to begin with, but would apply to, say, a whip) to a certain degree. Effect: Weapon can Talk Freely with the character. It can move on its own Cost: $5 (Purely RP Purposes) Insubstantial BodyDescription: Thousand Falling Cherry Blossoms is usually in a state referred to as the “Dormant” state. In this form, the weapon appears as nothing more than a normal Katana, albeit one with a strange aura surrounding it. When commanded, Thousand Falling Cherry Blossoms takes on the form that spawns its name. The blade itself will dissolve, leaving the user holding nothing but the hilt (which can be dropped or let go of, without losing control of the petals), as thousands of small particles of pink-red chakra scatter into the air. These particles are all inexplicably linked to the user, so they require nothing more than thought to maneuver them. Despite how they move, destroying the entire sword in this form is impossible, although attacking all of the petals at once MIGHT give the attacker a brief moment of armistice until the petals can swarm in on them again. Effect: As long as the jutsu “Chire” is active, this weapon cannot be “Un-Equipped” but does not take up the user’s hands, leaving them open to use handseals. All jutsu that would “Break,” “Un-Equip,” “Make Useless for the Remainder of Battle,” or “Destroy” this weapon (or anything similar) do not do their intended function. Instead, this weapon is unable to attack, or use, any jutsu that involve this weapon directly, for one turn. Scattered UnionDescription: Thousand Falling Cherry Blossoms is usually in a state referred to as the “Dormant” state. Since the Thousand Falling Cherry Blossoms are inhabited by a single, once living soul, they can be manipulated on their own, without direction from the user. This form of attack is undoubtedly weaker than normal, but the user is able to do multiple things simultaneously. Effect: As long as the jutsu “Chire” is active, this weapon can attack on its own, once per turn. While it attacks, the user may still attack, defend, or do any actions the user normally would. As long as the weapon is attacking by this effect, all damage it would deal is halved. Damage is based PURELY on base damage, and stat modifiers, nothing else. The user can choose to attack the enemy with the weapon on purpose, canceling this effect until that turn ends. This effect does not apply to any techniques used by this weapon, or any techniques that require this weapon to use, or any techniques that at all are related to this weapon. This effect cannot be used during the turn that the user uses a jutsu that specifically requires The Blade of A Thousand Falling Cherry Blossoms, nor in the turn that follows it. This ability is deemed "Inactive" or "Unuseable" for the remainder of battle, or until the jutsu "Chire" ends, if three or more Area of Effect Jutsu successfully hit the scattered weapon. The AoE all have a 90% chance to hit the weapon immediately, but the weapon gains its own dodge roll to try and evade them. Blanket of BlossomsDescription: Thousand Falling Cherry Blossoms is usually in a state referred to as the “Dormant” state. In this form, the weapon appears as nothing more than a normal Katana, albeit one with a strange aura surrounding it. When commanded, Thousand Falling Cherry Blossoms takes on the form that spawns its name. The blade itself will dissolve, leaving the user holding nothing but the hilt (which can be dropped or let go of, without losing control of the petals), as thousands of small particles of pink-red chakra scatter into the air. These particles then begin to rain down, like a gently drifting blanket. The user can move in between these blossoms, since they move in order to conceal without cutting their own master. As they fall even faster, and begin to surround the user more and more, the enemy will inevitably lose sight of the user. This means that they will have no idea where to look for attacks, while the user has more and more time to prepare accurately. Effect: For Every turn that the jutsu “Chire” is active, the user will gain an amount of Accuracy every turn equivalent to X. (X=2^(z+1)) (Z=Number of Turns that “Chire” Has Been Active) The opponent will also lose an amount of Evasion every turn equivalent to X. (X=2^(z+1)) (Z=Number of Turns that “Chire” has been active). When the jutsu “Chire” ends, these bonuses/reductions are immediately removed. If the jutsu “Chire” is used again, then the equation begins at its beginning all over again. With the field totally coated in these particles, the user can attack more than one enemy at once, since particles rest only inches or less from all of the user’s foes at one time. Attacking like this will require that the user guide the petals themselves, to ensure that their allies are not hit in these swarm-type attacks. Effect: While the jutsu “Chire” is active, this weapon’s attacks are all considered “AoE”, but their cost ratios are raised to reflect the user’s current AoE cost ratios. (If user is Chunnin, the weapon uses Chunnin AoE Ratios for cost) This effect cannot be used in conjunction with “Scattered Union,” but both may be present on the weapon at the same time (you simply cannot activate both of them in the same turn). This effect does not apply to any techniques used by this weapon, or any techniques that require this weapon to use, or any techniques that at all are related to this weapon. ==[: llll :]== Main Phase ==[: llll :]== Byukagan activated, sword drawn; Mizumono had but one more action before forfeiting her next move to the NCIA. Blade held erect, Mizu's chakra-imbued eyes stared at it, through it, and past it. "Chire, Senbonzakura.", her voice lacked any sort of passion. As the command escaped her lightly colored lips, her blade began to glow an odd red. Suddenly, and without warning, it scattered into hundreds of cherry blossoms. Chire [scatter]Type: Ninjutsu Rank: Jounin Cost: 180 Damage: N/A Effect: This Jutsu does not override any other terrain or weather effects, and is not removed if another terrain or weather effect is used. Instead, it exists at the same time as the other effects present on the field. The Terrain is changed to Falling Cherry Blossoms Falling Cherry Blossoms Effect: Anytime a participant of battle other than the person who is equipped with “Blade of a Thousand Cherry Blossoms” Dodges an Attack, Changes Ranges (From Close to Long, etc), Makes an Attack, or does any other action that causes them to move, they must roll a D10, with any roll but a 9 or a 10 (or greater) causing them to take 10 Damage. If the person rolling has Greater Speed than the user, they get a +2 to their roll. If they have 2x The User’s Speed, they get +4 to Their Roll, and if they have 3x The User’s Speed, they get +5 to their Roll. (These numbers do not stack) If, at any time, the user uses a jutsu besides this one that specifically requires Blade of A Thousand Cherry Blossoms, then this effect is suspended until the start of the user’s next turn. The user can, at any point during battle, cancel this jutsu himself, ending its effect. Otherwise, this jutsu ends after every player in battle has completed five turns from the time this jutsu is cast Description: Its name incredibly misleading, the jutsu “Chire” is anything but simple. Its one word title lulls the enemy away from the deadly power of the jutsu. The jutsu involves a particular sword, who was famed for its intelligence, after being illegally crafted by the Alchem Clan. The user will hold the sword, The Blade of A Thousand Cherry Blossoms, directly in front of them, the tip pointing at the sky, and hilt at chest level, brining the blade directly in front of the face, partial obscuring it. The user will place their hand at the very tip of the blade, and will begin to press down on the blade, as if trying to impale their hand. Slowly, they will force their hand down, while saying aloud the command phrase. ”Chire.” Upon uttering the command word, the entire blade will turn a pink-red hue. The blade itself will seem to dissolve into the air, scattering into hundreds, no, thousands of pieces. The user will end the motion with his or her hand sitting above the hilt, the blade completely gone from the weapon. Almost as if on cue, the petals will appear in the air, all around the battlefield, floating in mid-air as if by their own will. From their, the petals can be moved or manipulated, as if they have their own ability to move. The blades are impossibly high in number, and incredibly quick, making one hard pressed to fight without being sheared to shreds by the attack. The only one spared the agony is the person who is controlling the Cherry Blossoms, since they purposefully avoid their master. Allies of the user are not so lucky, however. Using this jutsu amplifies the need to fight alone. His orange spiked hair was soon not to be seen as he followed the pattern lead by his comrade. Targeting not the Hyuuga, but her own allies. It wasn't long until hand seals were swiftly sewn together and the soldier disappeared from the above ground and a hole was left underneath where his body one stood tall. In a matter of moments, two skinny hands burst from the ground, body fingers garpsing at Kitara's ankles. [Aimed at Kitara] Earth Type; Inner Decapitation Skill (Doton Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu) Type: Ninjutsu (Earth) Rank: Gennin Cost: 50 Effect:: Opponent is vulnerable next turn. Description: The user puts himself/herself underground using his/her chakra. They then can pull the opponent under and attack them. Points: 3 Vulnerable: Lose your next Response Phase. But that wasn't the end to the soldier's attack. There was more, a dangerous tidbit more. He obviously had a slight grasp on the art of Earth Ninjutsu and wished to show it to the world. Tsukimono (Devil Possession)[/b][/size][/i] Description: Akuma clan members have learned to tap into the power granted by the Devil-nin, but it comes at a grueling cost. When activated, depending upon the user's rank in this bloodline limit, their birth mark will stretch and spread throughout the body, leaving an image reflecting the common day celtic body-art. Once spread, the mark will burn and is said to release either the power sealed in the family belonging to that crazed man so long ago, or the mental mutation which brought that man the power in the first place. With his insanity and constantly tensing body muscles and wavering eyes, his whole body being pumped with blood at an abnormally high rate, he gained the sight which is now known to be called the Keigan (Discerning or Quick Eye). Few clan members are able to access such eyes, and only when they allow the "Devil's" power to flow through them (Tsukimono). The pupils shrink slightly and appear to present a whole in color where the center of the eye would be, ultimately revealing a dark red color which matches the rest of the once-white eye ball. The increase in adrenaline allows these special eyes to react and send signals to the brain at an increased, and slightly harmful way. The ninja's reaction time increases as his eyes can follow movement to a much higher degree. If used right, these eyes can also allow an attack thrown at an opponent to stand a higher chance to hit, considering that the eyes can discern any blocking movements or dodging attempts and move to bypass them. Apply all armors against this attack regardless of if it is supposed to bypass armor or not. When you take the hit, you gain a +100 to the relevent defence stat. Cannot be used against Genjutsu. The battle contained many elements of fighting, one being the cooperation and teamwork of the soldiers together, even if that meant 'taking one for the team', so to speak. The first soldier, his long forest green hair, flowing in the sudden movements to intercept Kitara's attack towards his comrade. It had hit in the process, causing him to lose temporary control over his grasp of the situation. His head ached from the kick, it was the price he paid, but it was an effective one at that. He sprung back, with two kunai in his hands, spinning and slashing at one of the boys in the Resistance group. The ball of fire that coursed towards him hit it's mark sending him flying. Their primary target was elusive, far too elusive and handled, assumed to be taken easily by their captain. Their ignorance would not hurt them, nor help them in the current situation. A new commer entered the fray, this one an Abrume, all of these in this group seemed to have soemthign in common. All birthed of the land of flames. Nonetheless, the first subcaptain unleashed an unpleasing sound coming from a coil of ninja wire, now in his hand. [Aimed at Naraku] Blowout (Buroauto) Type: Ninjutsu (Sound) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 70 Damage: 30 Effect: Roll a d4. Target is deafened for a number of turns equal to your roll - 1. Description: The user focuses sound waves produced from any source into a tightly-wrapped coil of sound, which is then directed to the target's cochlea. The intense sound waves cause the fluid in the cochlea to vibrate rapidly, blowing an opening in the inner ear. This intense pain and disorientation disables the target for a period of time. Points: 3 Damage: 30 (Base) + 85 (Mods) - 20 (Resistance) = 95 Health Accuracy: 60 (Base) + 65 (Mods) - 80 (Evasion) = 40% To Hit Loss- -70 chakra Sub Captain Two The second underling took her turn in the fray that was occurring. As her partner sprung in to action, as did she. Going, instead for Ryuu, she was one who knew the arts of the fist, something not seen much in this battle. He thought to himself, a jutsu would work just as well...problem is the only one he would be able to use would be Firefly and then Flashbang...that might take too long though... Main Phase O well...Ill have to use them...I dont have time to deside... He thought and quickly formed the handsigns. "Hotaru jutsu!" He said. Firefly (Hotaru)Type: Ninjutsu (Fire) Rank: Gennin Cost: 5 Damage: N/A Effect: Lights dark areas Description: Creates one to fifteen small phantom fireflies. These are beautiful to look at and light up an area very well. Excellent date jutsu, really impress your date. Eight fireflies appeared around Jinsoku. He would have to move fast if he was going to use them. The enemy would be able to target him a lot better, so he moved them around and tryed to make the enemies pay more attention to them then the fighting, though he doubted it would work. It was a random occurance, but the sword had struck true, piercing his chest, blood trickled down the metallic weapon, his lifeless body on the other end. Another had fallen, there was still hope left for the group after all.

Obviously, this pointed towards their captain had fallen, but there was still hope, minuscule hope, but hope all the same. From his mouth, came a small glowing orb, aimed right for the tageted defect. [Aimed at Mizumono] Fire Type; Cover Fire Type: Ninjutsu (Fire) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 110 Damage: 50 Effect:: Target Blind for 1 turn, Distracted 1 turn Description: "The best defense is a good offense". This technique sends a small fireball into the opponent that detonates into a bright orange light as it hits. While the fire itself deals damage, Cover Fire is a technique to buy time in disabling an opponent and also creates a choice moment for the ninja that uses this to strike. Response phase: Kitara watched the man she had killed tumble to his knee's, his lips parted in a silent curse before the life from the victims eyes slowly drained away. Despite loathing the NCIA, she couldn't help but feel remorse for this life she had taken. Just as a familiar voice sliced through the night, a snowfall of pink and cream petals began to float about herself and comrades. "Oh no... Mizu don't!" the girl screamed but the jutsu had already begun to take action. Each beautiful, little blossom twinkled like a rose star against the blackened battle field, casting away the metallic aroma of blood with their perfume. The dark haired kunoichi remained perfectly still as she beheld the stunning yet deadly scene, before dropping to her knee's as Mizumono instructed, though she doubted it would do any good now. She was right, hundreds of razor sharp sakura soared around her, pinning her to the ground as their bladed edges sliced deep, crimson lines into her back and legs. Wrapping her fingers around her head, Kitara tried to ignore the fact her skin and clothing were becoming more tattered by the second, feeling a warm stream trickle down her hips and neck as even staying conscious was a challenge. Blood seeped into her eyes as she lifted her head slightly, her team mates had not been spared the beating, and lay sprawled across the meadow. Finally, after what seemed an excruciating eternity, the last blossom fell and Kitara felt her adrenaline mellow. As her bodies desire to survive slowly seeped away, the pain became all too present. Forcing her legs to pull her off the ground, the girl stood and wiped the wetness from her face, shaking and barely capable of keeping her balance. "Y-You really are something, Mizu" Kit whispered, every inch of her words laced with resentment. Setup Phase: N/A Main Phase: As a fireball hurtled past, Kitara immediately pulled her kunai from her pouch and sent both with a graceful flick of her wrist in the direction of which the flames had come, aimed at the soldier's throat whilst standing protectively in front of her friends. The soldier nipped his way across to the main target; the Hyuuga. If the performer is surrounded by trees the damage is increased (Forest, grove, etc. Need MULTIPLE trees). Description: The forest empoweres you with its might. With this power, you can protect the forest, that has already given you so much strength. Naraku smoothly pulled his now blood drenched blade from the gasping man's chest. Once the man was dead Naraku wiped the guy's own blood on his vest and sheathed the blade. He was readying another attack when he saw another one of the soldier's readying an attack on him. He was able to move out the path of the devastating sound wave. Immediately after dodging the attack, another one hit him. Hard. He felt thousands of tiny blades cutting into his skin. He didn't dare turn around for fear of injuring his eyes. He shielded himself as best as he could, but it didn't do him much good. As they flew by him, he saw that they looked to be tiny pink petals. Once he was sure it was done he looked over his shoulder to see Kitara on the edge of consciousness. He picked himself up off of the ground and rushed over to her. He noticed that her clothing was much more tattered than his, so he wrapped his jacket around her. It didn't offer much, but it was better than what she had. The kikai that were buzzing around set to work to help repair her skin. Main: Name: Konchuu Karada no jutsu –Insect Health Technique Type: Ninjutsu [Medical] – Aburame Clan Rank: Gennin. Cost: 60 Damage: N/A Effects: Heals 60 health. Uses one hive. Description: The user pumps a hive of Kikai bugs full of healing chakra and they are able to heal fairly severe wounds. The Kikai are brightly glowing white until they inject the chakra into the injured person. Points: 2 For Kitara. 60(Base) + 71 (Skills)= 131 Healed. Reason: [skittz's AoE thing] D: CRITICAL HIT D: Cherry blossoms riccochetted in all directions. There was no chance to avoid the stinging pink petals, no chance for Ryuu at least. The young ninja was slammed to the ground by the sheer force of the attack. Ryuu was unconscious before he connected with the earth. Mizumono, though not aiming at him had inadvertantly wounded her teammate. The attack was indeed powerful, and combined with Ryuu's bad reactions... it would be a miracle if the boy survived the night. :Loss Tag: (HP: - 367)
Azure Posted December 5, 2007 Author Posted December 5, 2007 (edited) Subcaptain One Roll: 76 The two subcaptains regrouped, their plan was to force a douyble attack on the Hyuuga, for falling their captain, they were now the leaders of the mission and as so, wanted to end this swiftly. In the background, fires and lighting erupted, black clouds speweed over Kinomi no Toshi and screams echoed out through the trees. As the two sub captains prepared an attack, rose blades, ran by, slicing them up, ending their occupation under the Kumogakurean Army. Subcaptain Two [Conjoined with above.] Soldier Two Roll: 14 Roll: 26 Before the soldier could have the ability to react and strike back, there was one little obstacle that came, ripping, tearing and spewing blood across him. Actually, there were many of those ;little' blades, hundreds, possibly thousands, or at least seemingly by the very adjective of speed Slicing him up as it did so many others, he's very life blood spilled to the ground, his lifeless corpse joining the army of cadavers.
