Baromosa Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) Small sweat droplets appeared on Baromosa's head from the drain this was taking on him. Taiyaki was obviously putting every effort in as well, and Baro would commend him later for his compassion. He then would let the green chakra fade from his finger tips, and rested an elbow on his knee so he could gasp in gulps of air that sounded his minor exhaustion. The patient was stabilized though, his blood pressure was rising and the old man's chest rose and fell. "Thank you... Taiyaki. You did wonderfully." Baromosa said gratefully, taking a small breather. The small break was over all to quickly, and Baro was tearing cloth bandages again to use on those who needed it. It was hard work, making sure that nothing important was over looked, and to make constant decisions on how much care should be given and in what order. This was a great learning experience however, and really tested Baromosa's medical knowledge. Even the broken edge of a shuriken could become dangerous if embedded far enough that it could travel to the heart and kill well after a wound was bandaged. The next important patient on their agenda was a boy the same age as Baromosa was, no more then 17 or 18. His eyes, once bright, reminded Baro of himself and the flame for Konoha that burned deep in his chest. "We'll get you patched up. Do you remember anything?" Baro asked and smiled, checked his pulse with two fingers near the neck. Getting a small nod, the boy told him that he had been hit over the head with something hard and lost consciousness, and became dizzy when he woke up. "You might have a small concussion." Baro said, gently touching his head. "But very small, if any at all. You'll be fine, but let me get you wrapped up." his warm voice continued before placing the traditional white cloth over his side and wrapping it around his hip. Once his last patient was cared for, Baromosa turned to Taiyaki. "I always get a sense of fulfillment knowing we've helped these people. But... it is tiring. Do you think we have done well enough today?" Baromosa asked him with a soft smile. He was glad that his partner had taken up the call so well. Muse Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Roll: 97 Combination: 267 Word Total: 447 Takumi seemed to be moving at light speed, making it harder for her to keep up with. Though her agility was decent for her skinny, near un-athletic body structure, Bara found her breaths getting heavier when she leapt from tree to tree. It was getting even harder for her to think without the need to throw up. Her mind stood incentive on capturing the Oto-ninja, whom seemed to be running freely throughout the forest. At times she felt that she could see only glimpses of the ninja, but what she saw were illusions played by her own default; darkened bark off of trees, hanging loosely. The pain was piercing, her hands unknowingly gripping her chest. She was fearful of the opponent's next moves, whether her health would go increasingly down or they would get their target. Suddenly as she had fastened her speed, the chakra residing from him radiated more and more, giving her more of an idea where the ninja was. "Takumi,” Her words echoed as strong shouts, only because the wind was disrupting her hearing. She soon exclaimed, "I think we are close to the Otogakure shinobi. I can feel him,” push. "Or her, nearby.” It was clear.
Takius Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 ooc; D: super lame post. Seconds ticked by. Slowly, the man's soul returned to his body. Taiyaki sat back, his face still cool as he breathed in, nodding and smiling a faint smile in response to Baromosa's grateful words. Soon, the pair were working diligently again, and the Uchiha learned just how much knowledge that medical nin needed to know. Taiyaki responded to Baromosa words thus: "Of course, Baromosa-san… medical treatment is always appreciated by shinobi.” 72 words. 626 words in all. 8.575 patients in all~
cntrstrk14 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 As the cage would break and a hole punched through the metal wall, Tsubasa would watch as the other exited and then do so himself. His left leg was still burning from the fire attack before, and as he landed hard on it as he exited he would wince a bit and take a single limped step before composing himself. Tsubasa would spot Soujiro as he delivered a finishing blow to an opponent, and as the strike hit a flash of pain would sting through the young boy's head, another headache. The priest would wander towards the group of abandoned ninja and announce his intent to put them to work healing the sick. With a flash of light he would wash them over with a white light and just like that Tsubasa's burn wound would become healed. His headache, unfortunately, would remain as a slight soreness above his left eyeball, throbbing every so often or with any rapid movement of his head. Closing his eyes and rubbing the side of his temple he would follow the group with the thought of caressing his head in mind. As they would approach the street with all the sick laid out however, Tsubasa would begin to wonder what exactly the priest would want them to do. Had he simply assumed they were all knowledgeable in treating the wounded or sick. Watching the others he would see them scatter out as if they knew exactly what to do and he suddenly wondered if at some point in the past he had been accidentally drafted into a medical team. The war was still raging in the village of Konoha, and the sick and wounded were bound to follow. Tsubasa, however, was hesitating. ‘What am I suppose to do? Should I ask someone if they need assistance, or should I just take off? There is nothing in this for me…', he thought to himself as he scanned the area over with his single eye. The other three had already spread out and began to work, the two he had met earlier sticking together and working as a team and the other moving on his own to a small boy. Tsubasa, on the other hand, had no idea what to do. His curiosity began to peak however, and he began to wonder if anyone he knew was in this camp of sick and wounded, possibly even his Ro-sensei could be amongst these people. Scanning the area, Tsubasa began to think again. ‘What can I do for these people? If it were Ro-sensei here I would definitely not want some genin running around possibly making his wounds worse, so what am I suppose to do for these people?', he thought to himself as he looked one more time as if he would spot Ro-sensei sitting amongst them. Turning to the priest he thought of asking the man what he should do, but thought otherwise. He didn't want to look as if he was incapable of doing this task, even though he barely even knew the man. Walking out into the street, his azure blue eye began to look at each person, one by one. Many were sitting with anguish on their face, some seemed to be trying to sleep or rest and some were just wide awake and aware of everything. Swallowing a bit Tsubasa wondered what he could do to help these people, their injuries were beyond his scope of knowledge to treat. An older man would sit up against a pole, a deep cut along his leg seemed to have him in the position he was in now. It was bandaged recklessly, but it seemed to have stopped some kind of bleeding. As Tsubasa walked near the man he would look up towards him and smile. Drawn to this old man Tsubasa would approach him and crouch down near him. The man wore dress robes and appeared to be a simple civilian, possibly only gone out for a walk today to find himself in a much worse situation than he expected. A simple victim of the battles that tore apart this village. "Is there… um… anything I can get for you?”, Tsubasa asked a bit awkwardly. He really had no idea what he was doing but a small sense of pride had pushed him to wing some kind of attempt to help. The old man would look with a soft type of charm and let out a small laugh. "Well aren't you kind, but unless there is a new leg in your pouch then I don't think so!”, he said with a large laugh. Halfway through it would turn into a cough however, and the man's body would shake violently as he raised a hand to his mouth. As he gained control of himself again he would pull his hand away as his rag was smeared with blood. Tsubasa's eye widened a bit and he turned, the intent in his mind to find a medical ninja that could help as this man had a much worse problem than just a cut on the leg. As he turned though the man's hand would grasp Tsubasa's sleeve, holding him back before he could leave. Turning back to face the man Tsubasa would give a confused look, but the man would just shake his head. "Don't. There are much younger and worse off people in this street that need the attention of these medical specialists more than I. I won't put myself in front of any of these younger people and take their place.”, the older man would say, releasing Tsubasa's sleeve as he did. "I was hoping to see my grand daughter today, she's about your age. It's her birthday, we were going to have a party down at my restaurant, everyone was going to come.”, the man began, taking a deep breath as his breathing was slowly becoming more shallow. It seemed it was taking most of his strength just to stay awake. In most situations a person would tell the other to not talk, but something held Tsubasa's tongue as he just sat and listened to the man talk. He would take a few more breathes, his hand clenching the pocket of his robe as he did. "Oh, but where are my manners. My name is Hondatura Jin…”, he said, his breath getting worse with each passing moment. With another upset of coughing he would raise his hand to his mouth as more blood would come out. Tsubasa thought of getting up and finding a medical ninja, but as he looked he would see there were only a few amongst the sea of people in the street, and the few he spotted seemed as if they were completely focused on their patients, one even was in surgery. Turning back to the older man he would give him a concerned look but respect his wish. "Endo Tsubasa.”, Tsubasa would reply to the man, unable to think of much else to say aside his name in reply to the man's talking. Was he really witnessing the last moment's of this man's life? Was this what it was like to be on the field of battle, to watch the life of another become extinguished in front of your own eyes. A mixture of emotions stirred within Tsubasa, concern for the old man, anger at the world they lived in, sadness at the thought of his granddaughter whom was having the worst birthday ever and it was only about to get worse. There was nothing Tsubasa could do and an overwhelming feeling of helplessness like he had never known was flushing over him. He was right here, the old man's hand was in his own but all he could do was watch as each second he came closer to his final moment. "Is there anything at all I can do for you, a drink, some blankets, anything?”, Tsubasa said, this time with actual concern in his voice unlike when he had approached the man only moments before, driven by his sense of pride to be able to complete the task set ahead of him. He was realizing quickly that this was not just a simple task that could be accomplished. "No, I'm fine as I am. I just have one thing-”, coughing would ensue as Mr. Hondatura would be cut off by his own sickness. What his true wound was Tsubasa could only fathom to decipher. From what he could see his only injury was on his leg, what was causing him to cough up blood was a mystery. Unclenching his hand from his robe, the man would slide his hand into his pocket and draw out a silver necklace with a purple pendant on the end. Handing it to Tsubasa he would breath in deeply and exhale, gaining the strength to speak. "Take this to my granddaughter…”, he would say. Tsubasa would take the necklace with a shaking hand, he was nervous and afraid of what was going to happen, and he was choking back the tears that were welling up at his eyes. He had no idea what to do but to agree. Nodding his head he would hold the necklace as the man's hand would nod down, his strength failing to be able to keep his head raised. "Let her… know I… love her… and thank… yo..u….”, the man would finish, exhaling all the air left in his lungs as he finished as his eyes faded out, a small smile left on his face. Tsubasa would raise a shaking hand to the man's eyes, pushing them shut and pulling back. Looking at the necklace he would choke a few times as a tear would fall, even from behind his medical patch. He had no idea how to find the girl or where to start, he was still in shock of where to go or what to do, forgetting the priest or the other ninja as he kneeled next to this old man who had just wanted to get a present for his granddaughter. Why did he have to die, what had he done to be a part of this war. Tsubasa would stay there next to the man, trying to control the tears that were falling freely from his face. Lowering his eyes he would look at the ground, both arms placed on his knees as he sat, shaking as he tried to force himself to stop crying. ‘Stop it! STOP IT! You didn't even know this guy, why the hell are you crying. Get a hold of yourself, what would Ro-sensei say if he saw you now?! What would Kairu think if she was here!', he thought to himself as he cried, his hair falling around his face to hide it from the sides as he struggled to compose himself. 1804 words; 0 people treated, 0 people saved
Azure Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 The priest observed the shinobi working their magic, taking to the patients as soon as they arrived, with the exception of one. Curiously, he watched over that specific boy, without making direct contact with him. Tending to his own patients and discussing plans and order with others, his name was tossed around here and there. Were any of the shinobi children near, they would hear him be called Noel. It seemed like a pair of shinobi worked together, to which he would duly note by their extreme progression with the sick and wounded. The lone medic took the weight of responsibility by tending to a child, being a positive role model. The priest was called in to an intensive care tent, where his actions would not be monitored. More wounded soldiers were brought in to the medical area, it seemed like for every person they aided, another came in. Occasionally, they made a profit in a way, with gaining a larger ratio of healed to wounded patients. Noel came back out from the tent and his eyes shot towards Tsubasa, who appeared to stand motionless. Traversing over to the boy, his eyes laid on the deceased citizen, but before any words of council or wisdom came from his mouth, a distant cry was heard. "Noel!” The outburst came from Tsukasa, who appeared to be followed by a squad of Kumogakure shinobi. Their presence would endanger the wounded, as was their intention. Noel promptly raised his staff and bellowed in to the air as light converged in to a blinding blanket around all their eyes. "YOU ARE NOT WELCOME INTHIS SANCTUARY!” His voice seemed to incur a white wash, so that their vision was robbed. Suddenly, each shinobi would feel a tug at them, as if there were being carried swiftly by a strong human, rushing them away. "Do not resist. Trust in your heart children of Konohagakure.” Those were the final words they would hear from Noel as their bodies were carried away by unknown strangers. When each of them would gain their precious vision back, they would all be together in the central plaza, a set of five Konohagakure shinobi were among them, plus Tsukasa. The five shinobi broke apart from the group to rejoin the fray. But something seemed wrong about the environment. The wind seemed to have picked up, the normal painted sky was lined with an eerie mix of reds and orange. The temperature of the atmosphere had been raised, along with the humidity. "Soujiro…” Ahead, the plaza was riddled with corpses, some bloody, some burned and others just seemed to be ash. A flickering flame aura had erupted around Soujiro with a tint of crackling azure around the tips of the flame. This sight would haunt those who watched the atrocity of Kinomi no Toshi. His body language and demeanor resembled that which Tsubasa had seen in his past. Tsukasa's voice raised among the screaming tension, "I will hold off on anyone trying to interfere. This group has one special task. Stop him." Each second that passed would be another second closer to the ticking time bomb's destruction on a clock that's countdown was uncertain. Would Konohagakure no Sato turn in to the second Kinomi no Toshi? They would have to strike down their mentor, who breathed destruction. If they could even touch him to begin with. Tick, Tick… -Your objective is to defeat Soujiro through any means. -Anyone who gets in to close range will receive 75 health damage that is modified by the Resistance stat. -They will also become burned if they stay within close range for two turns. If anyone becomes burned three times, they will fall unconscious. -Techniques will not be affected by any of Soujiro's defensive stats. -Long range attacks, however, will have their damage cut by 50%. -Further instruction will come in time, but be careful. Actions often have reactions. -Continue to keep a tally of your stats and the previous word count no longer applies here. • • • • • • • Michiru, for the sake of organization, I'm splitting this topic. Rakirian Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 (edited) Trees came dashing all around Rakirian as he continued to run as fast as he could along a very poor dirt road leading out of the forest and out towards one of the entrences to the village. Thoughts kept rushing through his mind about what kind of greeting they could face once they arrive. Considering that they know basicly nothing of the current state of things in the village made it all the more dangoures. The village might be under seige, a sabotage underway or even just a accident had acured when the first batch of the Konoha shinobi's arrived. Nothing was certain. "We are nearing the walls I think" Said Rakirian in a silent voice over to the other shinobi he just meet about an hour ago. "We must take a close look what's going on...but we should also try and stay out of any current danger that might be happening until we really know what's up and what's not...soo very up..." A bad time for one of Rakirian's attempts to make the moment abit more 'fun', however he hoped that the other shinobi would understand what his idea of how they should try and proceed. ((A late tiny groups arrives! Rakirian and Zereon enters. Short post but it serves it's purpose for this entry.)) Edited November 28, 2008 by Rakirian
cntrstrk14 Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Tsubasa would look up as Noel's name was called out, tears still in his eyes. It was an attack, and with a quick movement Tsubasa would prepare himself to fight, the welling fire that built up in him from the mixture of emotions looking for a release. The young boy had no problem taking out his aggression on a few NCIA, who cares how powerful they were, he was too pissed to think about it. With a deep voice and large show of ninjutsu though, the priest called Noel would send out a blinding light as Tsubasa would feel as if he was being carried away. As the light would clear and his vision return he would find himself with other ninja in the central plaza. It seemed the sick had been taken away to anotehr location, presumably safe. Wiping away at his eyes before anyone saw that he had been crying, Tsubasa's nostrils would be filled with a putrid stench. All around them the plaza was in flames, corpses of enemy and ally alike sat in bloody, burned and ashen messes. Taking all of this in, Tsubasa's gaze would eventually fall on the man named Soujiro. Now this was more familiar, this aura of destruction, an air of evil around the man. This was the same feeling Tsubasa had gotten when they were in Fang. Unfortunately, it seems that no matter what side of the war you were on this man was an enemy. "What the hell is wrong with him?”, Tsubasa would voice, not to anyone directly, but more so as a question that was probably lingering at the edge of every tongue in the group. It was obvious that he was out of control and needed to be stopped, the entire village could be at stake with the amount of damage visible in just this area. Pulling out a kunai from his pouch, Tsubasa would twirl it around twice as he swung his arm to extend towards the man. The orders were obvious and the light was green. This man had to be taken down as soon as possible. Hesitation was for another time. A blast of genjutsu energy would travel towards the man, hopefully freezing his movements for even just a split second to give the kunai that was coming the best chance to collide with its target. "Sutorobu-isshun Taipu; Kunai Taihou" (Instance Strobe Style; Kunai Cannon) With a blast of blue light from the end of his palm, the kunai would be fired like a cannon towards Soujiro. Zereon Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 (edited) All went faster than Zereon could have imagined, it wasn't long now before they would find out the cause of the bang they had been hearing from inside the forest. Zereon couldn't help to feel that it was destiny that had brought them both together at this time and decided to make the best out of it. "Indeed, the walls aren't far now. We should proceed with caution from now on." Now was the time to protect Konoha with everything Zereon had learned from the time training in the forest, or at least that was what Zereon though for now. So far he couldn't tell what had happened, neither could he know if he stood a chance against the possible threat. "By the way, the name is Furukawa Zereon." Baromosa Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 The eyes of Baromosa took in Soujiro like a ghost, dim memories of the blue tipped fires around Kinomi no Toshi re-awakening him to the reality of his mentor. He had not burned in the flames... and now he was causing all too parallel flames in Konoha. Baromosa's teeth gritted, and the once warm caring brown eyes burned with anger. 'Have I been fooled? Was he my enemy this entire time and had not shown it? Cloud ninja here, and his own fire aiding their destruction.' Baro thought and felt weakened at the same time. Tsubasa was very quick to move first this time, and launched some sort of specialized kunai attack from his palm. Baromosa envied his initiative, because he could no summon his own this time. Soujiro was an obvious threat now, and his once teacher could not be allowed to escape the crime he committed here. Baro wanted very much more time to examine his actions, and figure out why he was doing this, but there was never the time for these things. One either knew or didn't know, and no ground was left in between. The resolve boiled down to this: launch an offensive that could serve to both protect and to attack if need be. Baromosa spread his stance as he made a hand seal, and stared at Soujiro with unyielding eyes that half looked of hate, and half of despair. Sand from the streets, in between buildings, and any spread over the ground slowly began to inch towards their plaza that would become the battle field. As if reactive to the chakra Baromosa induced into them, each grain of sand multiplied one-hundred fold and filled the plaza with a sandy embankment, large enough to hamper movement and provide ample sand to manipulate further. acillies45 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 (edited) What the hell was going on? He looked up from the patient he had been working on to see Soujiro. This however wasnt what he was expecting. Soujiro was...killing! He stood up as soon as he heard the orders to stop him. How could he though, Soujiro had taught him all his tiger style attacks....he knew every move that he could make...except one. Jinsoku walked out to the plaza and stood near Baromosa. "...Baro..." He said looking at his teammate..."Lets not hold back." He said, then forming handsigns and calling out the attack that he had learned after Soujiro had died "sorry master....Katon Ryuuka no Jutsu!" He called out and took in a huge breath of air and launched it at his master. Takius Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Tsubasa's one question rung out in the silence, voicing eloquently exactly what was on everyone's mind. Taiyaki, who was at the back of the group, narrowed his eyes, taking in the whole situation as everyone else moved into positions to attack. Tsubasa and Jinsoku launched attacks immediately… The Uchiha made a note to observe the effects of fire jutsu on Soujiro; after all, he was surrounded by an aura of fire. Baromosa, on the other hand, seemed to be preparing for some other means of attacking – he had brought a rush of sand into the small plaza. Taiyaki adjusted his footing, his mind quickly sifting through the weaknesses amongst their group against this new foe. Obviously, there was a vast difference in experience here… and the ability to dodge. What good would it be if the Jounin simply evaded all the attacks thrown at him? Taiyaki decided to act with an illusion jutsu that would hopefully impede Soujiro enough for his newfound teammates to take him out… Demonic Illusion: Ensnaring VinesType: Genjutsu Rank: Chuunin Cost: 75 Chakra Damage: N/A Effects: Ensnared and Vulnerable for 1 turn. Rakirian Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 "Furukawa Zereon eh? My name is Sukaikon Rakirian, nice to make your aquiantance" was wishpered out of Rakirian's lips as they now came into veiw of a section of the Konoha city walls. The walls were mostly intact but had clear signs of tear and bruises from recent combat. The sounds from within the village were tose of metal clashing with metal, blasts from techuiques and the like. There were no more doubt about it, the resistance forces were duking it out with the remaining NCIA forces to retake control of the village. Signaling to Zereon to follow with him closer to the walls edge of one of many gates that opened out from Konoha. Peaking around the corner, Rakirian could see debries and torn buidlings in the distance but no signs of any people or bodies near the entrance. Turning around once more to Zereon, Rakirian wishpered: "There seems to be no one near us here...we need to try and find contact with some resistance forces and ask what we might be able to help with. I'm quite sure we two on our own can't do any good in combat when we have no clue about the situation." ((OOC: Waiting on some guidelines from the GM. Don't wanna solo RP into the enviorment he has created and ruin it.))
Rhapsody Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 It would be a while before Ayatsuri actually arrived at Konohagakure no Sato, and, when he did, even he was filled with a sense of defeat and sadness. This place had been destroyed by whatever occupation had moved in, leaving little but death in its wake. The boy found himself stepping forward, following Shiranui who had been inspired more by a rebellious and proud heart. The dog had no secret vendetta against his roots. They headed, slowly and cautiously, towards the two boys stationed just outside the gates. When he arrived behind them, Ayatsuri stood still for a moment, silent, and then: "What's the situation?" Trite words, but they got the point across. The boy drew Fumetsu Aibo from it's sheath on his hip, and Shiranui sat close at his heels. the Inuzuka boy had no fangs on his cheeks, but he wore a Konoha symbol on his forehead, and the association between him and the canine was clear.
Zereon Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) The shinobie introduced himself as Sukaikon Rakirian. The last name was well know to Zereon. He was from one of the famous bloodlines in Konoha. It was people like him that made Zereon do the surgery on his body and it's people like him that makes Zereon want to prove himself. But this wasn't the time and place to even think about such a thing. This was about Konoha and nothing else. Both Zereon and Rakirian found themselves at the gate not long after the introductions. Zereon noticed the signal that Rakirian made and as much as he hated the fact that he was being ordered, he followed. But just as they got to the gate a new shinobi arrived, asking about the situation. "I can't tell yet. All that we noticed is that we seem to be alone on this side. Isn't that right, Rakirian?" Zereon passed along the question to Rakirian who was closer to the gate. Edited November 30, 2008 by Sereon
Rakirian Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Rakirian's heart skipped a beat as he heared a strangers voice coming from behind him. The feeling that he and Zereon had been ambushed by a NCIA soldier hold on tight as he turned his head slightly to the side to be able to the speaker. To his suprise and hearts happy beat, a Konoha symbol was the first thing he noticed on the new arrived shinobi. After a few seconds of eyeing the new person and his pet, Rakirian came to the conclusion that this person might be a member of the Inuzuka clan. "Right" Answering Zereon's question while still keeping his eyes on the Inuzuka boy. "There are clear indications of combat still going on inside the village, but to know which side is winning cannot be seen from here...we need to get a closer look." With that he pulled up one of his kunai with his right hand and tighten his grip around it as he titlted his head once again to take another peak behind the wall. Scouting with his eyes, he could not see any person in sight within the open courtyard. Smoke could be seen rising up into the sky in the direction of the city plaza deeper within the village. With his left hand, he raised it up behind his back to give the two others the hand signal that the coast seemed to be clear ahead.
Azure Posted November 30, 2008 Author Posted November 30, 2008 The soot infested air began to swirl above their heads as time dragged on in the forbidden clock of annihilation dragged on. The kunai wrapped around chakra that jettisoned off of Tsubasa appeared to catch steam as it entered the airspace of Soujiro, liquefying, the reserved chakras was able to smear past the firewall, hitting the erupting man. His facial expression showed no signs of care, brushing it off as it were child's play. It seemed that all their emotions had turned to a burning anger in response to their endangered lives. It wasn't apparent that any of them retreated in at least an attempt to save themselves from the potential blast radiance. No, all of them stood in arms, but they weren't the elitists, they were only what were left of the Konohagakure military. The plaza began to be filled with sand, coordinated from the whim of Baromosa. The land of fire has not seen sand these far from the shores with the exception of shinobi tactics. As the grains filed in around the heated teacher, the sand shone miraculously as the heated chakra coursing from his body fell to the course ground; the sand was converted to glass. The reflections from the small bits and shards would reflect only the bloody skies and dark smoke. Even the sun was hazed a polluted orange tint, it was a fitting environment; the world surrounded in flames. The Leaf village had been met with its pale tidings in the past, but this one seemed like it could be the end of the glorious history. The flames spit out from Jinsoku flew directly at Soujiro, for a split second both of the fire sources battle each other fiercely. A near hissing sound pieced the sound barrier, annunciating that the flames were alive. The intensity of the fire left scorch marks on his clothing, from the combination of fires, while his skin looked glistened of sweat from the flames. Though his demeanor did not change. He didn't appear to be moving from his spot, though his concentration seemed to be weakening, for better or for worse it appeared to be their only option. The illustrious tricks spurred from the Uchiha delved in to reality, bending the earth to allow plants to trap Soujiro in their snare. His body fidgeted, his eyes looked up at the group of shinobi trying to halt his actions. "You would strike down your own sensei? Even though I made you shinobi?” His questions would plunge in to the hearts and minds of specifically his two former students. The look in his eyes was momentarily humane again. The vines that held him caught flame, allowing him to reach in to the two holsters strapped to his hips, picking up the two ravenous daggers, switching to their form of three blades. He crossed his arms and threw the two weapons at his sides. They reached two tall buildings, mostly parallel with each other. A small shine could be seen on a tiny, yet firm string that was attached his hands. In one fluid motion, he tugged at them, ripping free large chunks of the buildings that came crashing down in front of him; concealing him from the rest of the group. They fell on to the sand and kicked up a wave of desert grits. -The two buildings have a total of 200 hp each. They must be destroyed in order to proceed to Soujiro. -There is an option to jump over the buildings, made on a d100, with the chance to successfully make it over of 65%. The roll is further modified with one tenth of your evasion modifier. -If the roll fails, the person will not make it over, but they may still attack the building, dealing ¼ of the total damage they normally would. -There is an 80% chance of being hit for 20 damage and being inflicted with ‘Impaired Eyesight' for one post, due to the sand wave. • • • • • • • There came a sudden rush of footsteps in reaction to their voices. A man dressed as a shepherd, his face lit with colorful markings that did not resemble the Inuzuka, with pale violet eyes and carrying a crescent moon staff appeared at the gate. As soon as they saw him, they could see the fire lit background and smell the foul burning flesh. His clothing smudged with ash and his body wet with perspiration. He saw the trio; along with a canine begin to enter the smoke filled village. When they arrived, they would see two buildings come crashing down in the distance, directly ahead where a group of shinobi stood, soon to make their own actions. "Kill…the exploding man…save Kono…hagaku..re..” As his voice would run out, a tiny man dressed as a Kumogakure shinobi ran up with a lance, set to impale the set of them standing there. The shepherd man reacted by parrying the lance with his staff. A grunting sound gurgled from his throat before he released one of his hands to craft hand seals. His strength dipped for a moment, before shoving the man backwards. The crescent moons staff's jewel that was set in the middle began to glow and the Kumogakure shinobi grabbed his head before shrieking a disturbing scream. He fell to the ground, his body motionless. "GO!” The shepherd commanded, obviously too preoccupied with the soldiers than to give proper instruction. But shinobi needed to think for themselves every once in a while. Thrown in to a foreign situation, how could they handle the sudden shock in a presumed peaceful setting? Most of them were very inexperienced, who were being introduced to the horrific world they lived in. -There are two options right now for the entering group; • Catch up with the group. [1] • Take a detour to collect specialized rocks that may or may not be used later and catch up with the group at another angle. [2]
Baromosa Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) (ooc: Edit: I forgot. I'm still effected by impaired eyesight.) Response: Armor of Sand: Rank 1 (Suna no Yoroi) Baromosa was amazed by how the glass near Soujiro was being fused and melted into glass by the flames. The intensity of the fire must have been very great indeed. Baro needed to prepare for his assault however and knowing the flames would only get more intense inside, he intended to use some of the near by to create a thin armor of protection around him. Each grain of sand would be bound by chakra, and coat his body with compacted sand to form the dense shield. 'I'm sorry my teacher, but your betrayal is too great.' he concluded in his mind, Baro's thought being made up into a polished resolve: Take down his former master. The sand he had summoned was a double edged sword however, and began to swirl like a blast from a sea storm before blowing over his allies. Even his armor of sand took a hit, all of the grains of sand sticking to his armor and leaves holes and cracks, though much of the armor remained intact before his chakra infused sand began to recollect and solidify. He did not envy the others however, and how they would now have to fight off the sand. This was a sort coming he had no anticipated, but would do well to remember. Even his own eyesight was being hampered slightly by the sandy air. Armor of Sand HP Remaining: 130 Repaired to 150 Baromosa then got ready to bound over the wall, a feat he didn't consider a challenge. He drew his sword and crouched down getting ready for the charge. He surged his legs into a sprint before bounding up into the sky, arm outstretched towards the top of the chunk of building. Baro's finger tips reached the top of the wall, and thought he made it, but perhaps the sand weighed him down or only one arm just wasn't enough. 'Shit!' he swore to himself and back flipped off the wall, spinning down to his secondary plan and tried to slice the debris away. Making two cuts before he landed on the ground, Baro was dissatisfied with the effectiveness of his work. Jumping over the wall and not making it defiantly was not a good way to start an attack. Zereon Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) ((85 dodge on the sand and debris )) It didn't take long for Zereon to react. He rushed in without really thinking on what he was doing. The buildings came crashing and he dodged debris and covered his eyes from the sand that came at him. It was Konoha that was in danger and someone had to do something about it. The only chance Zereon saw now to stop everything was to destroy one of the buildings that had fell. He stood for awhile thinking of how to destroy the building most effectively and where to hit it. It took about half a minute before he was ready to try. He started gather a great deal of fire into a ball to perform his strongest technique. As soon as he was done he released it towards the left building in very high speed. "Nova..." Rakirian Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) ((I also decides to take path [1])) ((Dodge roll: 74 doh! [impaired eyesight for 1 turn] )) Starring in awe at the man dressed as a shepard, Rakirian felt a strong urge to help him but he knew he would only be in the way for him. His eyes then switched over to the dead man laying not too far away from him. The man who from Rakirian's veiw came out of nowehere and would had surely impaled him on the spot unless that man hadn't stepped in. His friend whom Rakirian now noticed had dashed away in the aids of other shinobi infront of the two crashed buildings. The old man's word kept echoing in Rakirian's mind as he was trying to figure out what to do. An exploding man? Save Konoha? Is the situation so grave? He needed to make a choice and fast! With a nod to himself, he started running towards the others infront of the crashed buidlings. The veiw of the others became a blur as a wave of sand and debris came over him. Small peices of rock tore on his shoulder and the sand felt like it was ripping away his skin. Determind to continue he finally reached the others with a blurred vision. "Let me have a go at it!" Takius Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) [70 - Impaired Eyesight, 20 dmg] The rush of sand that blew over from the impact blew over the group. Taiyaki closed his eyes instinctively but the sand still worked its gritty fingers under his eyelids. Pins and pricks needled at his eyes and they started to stream tears. The sand died down, and slowly the Uchiha opened his eyes – though they still burned, he was still able to see. The sight before him amazed him: Soujiro had easily pulled down two buildings; while he had been busy blinking the sand out of his eyes, several new arrivals had destroyed one of them. Baromosa had weakened another one of them, and Taiyaki could see well enough so that he wouldn’t miss on such a large target. acillies45 Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) (31 to dodge) "You would strike down your own sensei? Even though I made you shinobi?” This hit Jinsoku hard. He froze a moment. He thought back to that evening training that he had done...the man appearing, promising to make him shinobi. The feeling of freedom. Soujiro had helped him so much with the little time they had traveled together. Chakra control, tiger style....two very important feats that couldnt have been done as well without tutoring. But what was going on right now? Soujiro was doing the opposite of what he taught Jinsoku. He was attacking Konoha. Jinsoku's eyes flashed up to his Sensei. "...you did make us shinobi...but betraying Konoha..." He said standing straght up and glaring at his sensei "Is unforgivable!" He launched himself, in an attampt to get passed the building. He was hit by debris and sand, whichc stung his eyes, but he wouldnt stop, not now... 26 to jump...not my day for rolls He missed jumping the building, but he came at it again and again, not quitting. Rhapsody Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) ooc- Rolled a 28 for the Sand. Immune to Impaired Eyesight. [Aya] Rolled a 94, unaffected by both. [shira] In a split second, he was off, and Shiranui hung slightly back. For fear of destroying the blade with his own assault, Ayatsuri put it away and then lunged forth, jumping into the air and sending himself into a violent head spin. Sand and particles of debris bit into his skin, but he payed them little regard. This was not a time to waver, or let himself be swayed. The boy bit his lip and carried on, a giant tornado that barreled down on the partially smashed building like a train out of control. there was a moment before he made contact in which Taiyaki, standing at a distance and with his impaired eyes, would burst Ayatsuri's target and, instead of bursting headfirst into a slab of rock, the child carried on straight through to Soujiro. The man probably wouldn't be able to see, but the child's eyes burned with anger. He did not know this man, or his motives - and he had no previous connections to him - but he wished to harm the boy's village, and a foreign sense of duty compelled him to protect them. Shiranui, meanwhile, hung back as usual, a silent killer waiting nearby. His body was hidden, debris clinging to his fur as he slunk into the cover of a nearby doorway. He, unlike some on this fight, was fairly weak. For the moment he would hang back, eyes dripping hatred and chest vibrating with a growl. He had been slightly shocked by the premature bursting of the building, but not so much. Unlike Ayatsuri, he had been able to see Taiyaki forming his cluster of hand seals. cntrstrk14 Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 [Rolled a 34 for Sand Wave] [20 Damage; Impaired Eyesight] The shock wave from the sand blew up as Tsubasa went to protect his face from the debris. Particles of sand would blow against his skin and into his eye and hair, causing his right eye to begin to water up. Without much thought at all he would slide his hand up and move the eye patch from his left eye. With the vision blurred in his right he would have to take the risk of gaining a headache or go near blind for a few moment. As he removed the patch though, his vision would become lined with faint etchings, every surface would show a strange set of grooves, almost as if they were breaking points. They were shaky though, blurring in and out of focus almost as if they were just completely a mirage. Not to his own knowledge, his left eye had formed a darker blue ring around the iris, contrasting to the light azure of his normal eye color. [impaired Eyesight Removed] 'What the hell is wrong with my vision?', Tsubasa would think as this was now the second time he had witnessed these etches. Without much time to think about it, Tsubasa would find that the enemy had hidden himself behind some walls of stone pulled by nearby buildings. Just as quickly it seemed that a series of attacks from the allies that had been here and a set of newcomers would take the wall to the ground in moments. 'These idiots are fighting because he is turning on Konoha? I could care less about the integrity of the village honor, can't they see this man is unstable. If I thought running would get me far enough to survive an explosion from this chakra I would...', Tsubsa would think to himself. Pulling out a second kunai, Tsubasa would repeat his last action, launching another kunai that would cut through the smokescreen of dust and debris being left near the enemy. Blackrose Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 (ooc: I didn't think I had to roll for the sand wave since my character was undercover of the building when it hit. Let me know if I should.) So it had finally come. Tenka had expected it would ever since she had heard of Fang's downfall. She knew it was only a matter of time before the resistance came to Konoha. However, here came her dilemma; was she actually going to aid the resistance for once, or would she just stand back like she always had and watched it play out? She had lived in Kumo all her life, but her distaste and hate for her own people had blackened her heart. Of course she had every reason to hate them. The Ncia had hunted her family, murdering them and using them as slaves because of their bloodline. They killed her mother, and caused her father to abandon her. Yes, Kumo would eventually feel her wrath, but she was not yet strong enough. She needed more time to prepare and grow stronger and it wasn't something she could do alone. She needed allies, though, she truly hated to admit it. Her own father abandoned her. She was left alone to die by her own father, how could she trust anyone when her own parent wasn't even trustworthy? Still, there was no choice for her. Even a temporary ally might come in handy and the resistance was her best bet. She needed their training, their power, to get what she wanted. She couldn't help but wonder what she would have to do in return. Would they ask for her loyalty? That was worthless, she was only loyal to herself. If they found out she had once lived in Kumo, would they even accept her? Would they betray her? Capture her? There were just so many things that could go wrong, but she was desperately running out of time. If she didn't pledge to join the resistance, she wasn't sure she'd have a place in the world after the war. It wasn't as if she really had one now, she was a thief and a petty criminal and those weren't exactly noble traits. As the battle raged on outside, Tenka watched from the window of a nearby shop. It gave her decent cover and kept her far out of sight as the Sand wave hit. Everyone else had evacuated or found a safe haven for the moment. Tenka's headphones were blaring some rock music from around her neck. She wore a dirty, loose, male hoodie, that hid her, no so large, breasts, and baggy cargo pants that looked like they had been through hell. She wore a hat that hid her beautiful auburn hair underneath it. If anyone looked at her they would probably see nothing more than a young boy. This disguise was apart of her ever since she went into hiding three years earlier. She was an expert at lying and pretending to be a boy, amoung other misdeeds. But since the Ncia hadn't been tracking a boy, they had no reason to target her as she was. Now it seemed she would have to reveal apart of herself to people she didn't know or trust. The prospect of it seemed illogical, but she knew it had to be done. She had spotted a boy throwing Kunai and decided her best bet was to join him. She was far too weak to get close to that monk in any way. She decided not to use her bloodline. She didn't want to give too much away right at the start. She arrived on the scene and readied a kunai, and let it fly to assit him. She didn't explain herself either. She believed her actions would speak for her.
